Man since I've started watching your videos I've branched out into other brands and genres (ice and malt liquor). I LOVE colt 45. It's really really good. Thanks for opening my eyes to other beers besides high life
I enjoy this more than almost any of the heavy AAL's, I tried Pabst Blue Ribbon again after quite a while and didn't love it, I'd take this over it any day. I walked to the store a fifth a mile away from my work for an ice tea during lunch and found the second store in my area to carry it and OE800 which made me quite thrilled. I don't particularly care for the ice beer flavor, so it's a shame the old school malt liquors aren't as readily available. I wish the Budweiser all malt you have mentioned before still existed, I would be very interested in trying it, since I enjoy many of the higher alcohol Eurolagers.
OK, I just had my first Colt 45! It really is rather drinkable, A bit too sweet for my taste. Maybe it 's the corn sirup? Comparing it to similar German beers to me it's a B-. After all the bad stuff U heard and read about Colt 45 I am positively surprised and now enjoying my second can. 🍻 Cheers! 🍻
Picked this up in a 24 oz can today. With malt liquors I lean towards mickey's and King Cobra but this stuff was delicious! VERY fresh as well. Great review!
Hi Ron hope all is well. Yesterday I had a twenty four ounce can of Colt 45. I usually don't drink Colt 45 for me it has a nasty bite and leaves me with a gut rot feeling. The reason I bought it yesterday is because the can has a new design no horseshoe or horse. It tastes better then it use to be more smooth no gut rot either.
I'm drinking one right now, bought a six pack at Food Lion. A lot better than I remembered, it's pretty good! Cheap price and smooth, slightly sweet. A classic.
I remember me and the homies drinking this in the wood or on the train tracks back in the day. Being so messed up didn't even know our way home. Haven't had it in about 38 years now, didn't even know they still brewed it. I'm on the lookout now though.
Ever thought about you two revisiting this one? Or maybe a mystery beer challenge? I am enjoying some Colt 45 right now and it really is underrated in my opinion!
You can find a 40 oz of Colt 45 pretty much anywhere around here. Meanwhile, a 40 oz of King Cobra is much harder to find and Schiltz Blue Bull isnt sold anywhere around here. Colt 45 Double Malt I think I only saw once or twice.
King Cobra is common, here, Colt 45 is somewhat rare, now, the Schlitz Bull has been pulled from our area, and the Double Malt has never been sold, here.
tried it recently in the can and the 40 oz bottle. bottle has a little more lace to it and to me it just tastes like a little more fuller bodied highlife/mgd. somehow albeit not stating this is a cold filtered beer as opposed to a pasteurized, the flavor seems to be more consistent with MGD's. nice to see a video where you guy's don't have an underlying animosity throughout, cheers.
Hey Ron, I grabbed me a sixer of 16 oz. cans yesterday. New label. It doesn't say Malt Liquor any longer. It's a lager now. Same 5.6% though. Tasted the same to me.
@@ronaldtheriot I got them in Boston. The bomber bottles and 40oz were the old labels. The cans were new. We get most of our Pabst products from the Miller Brewery in Trenton, Ohio.
Excellent review of a great Malt Liquor, I am in the Philippines at the moment and Colt 45 is very popular and one of the top three selling beers in the Philippines along with San Miguel and Red Horse.
Such a sweet tasting malt liquor Colt 45 is. I’m shocked this is sweeter than high life. I’m drinking two 16oz pint cans now. I’m gonna give Colt 45 a B+. It’s very good- knocking on the door of excellent. Gotta get used to the sweetness though. I guess some people enjoy sweet and bitter at different levels. Some people prefer sweeter brews and others prefer more on the bitter side.
Cheers, back to you, and I only remember those commercials, from watching them on YT. If you review Colt 45, I will watch. I appreciate you watching, Black Iowa! Thanks!
Hey Ron, I bought a 6 pack of pint cans of Colt 45 for $4.99.do you think that is a good price? I never bought anything more than a 24 oz. can. Cheers.
I had a 40 of this the other day for the first time. i also noticed a slight skunk smell on it. The next day i had a 24 oz can of this that was dated nov 2018 and there was absolutely no skunk. it was one of the best beers ive had in awhile. i was amazed at the difference in the can. awesome review, i enjoyed watching! Cheers 🍻
It's worth getting in the 40 oz glass bottle, from the cardboard case, when possible. if you have access to a walk in cooler at your local or wherever you are purchasing the product, that is.
I love this beer! (Malt liquor) I prefer this over most adjunct lagers, it just needs to be ice cold. I got a couple 22 Ozs and a case of pints tonight. This and Mickey's are the best standard malt liquors, in my opinion. Cheers, Ron and David. I don't mind more Colt 45 videos. Let the malt liquor project march on!
My personal fav cheap daily I've it great flavor and great value all around a 4 pack ov 16 Oz in Indianapolis indiana runs 5.49 in 2022 and man it gets you right for the price
King Cobra cold filtered? I'm so envious of what beers you have gotten hold of. I haven't even mention Leinenkugel beer, Balentines, Private Stock, Piels, and Blatz. I can get 40 different types of Hard Seltzer but they nixed historic beers long ago.
Yeah, I want the historic beers, not seltzers! I have told that Cold 45 Cold Filtered story too many times, I suppose. Yeah, I heard the bad news, with Olympia. A shame.
Oh yes this malt gives king cobra a run for its money I copped 4 pints of this now. Drinking them and have no major complaints Ronald. It’s good. Carolina Panthers lost to the Dallas cowboys but it’s all good. It’s all just clean fun anyways.
@@ronaldtheriot I rewatch it again. Dave made an interesting statement about this beer. That companies like Pabst are taking great strides to make this more flavorful or more bolder that craft drinkers may take a look at this again.
First beer I ever tried back in the late 90s here in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I remember it in a white 500ml can. Sadly unavailable here since around 2000.
What’d you say this is prob your 50th review of this? That’s funny. It’s not easy to find where I live in the forty ounce bottles. I picked one up when I ran across it but haven’t tried it yet. Cheers.
I was exaggerating, but it seems like it. Yeah, the 40-oz. (and all configurations) are rare, here, these days. If you try it, I hope you like it. Cheers, back to you!
@@ronaldtheriot 5.6 abv is Augustiner Edelshoff, Ayinger Jahrhundert and Pschoor's Munich Gold. The only way it could be a bock is the OG and lots of residual sugar. Still for the price it is not nearly as bad as the rep.
