Great recording, it is worth taking an interest in the oil pump wheel. In my b204ft I changed the screw to a stronger one. Very well explained. At home, I gave up the balancer shafts.

Thank you soo much brother! By far the best video on UA-cam for b234f timing belt tutorial. We don't have much info or parts for the B234F here in the United States.

The same thing in Sweden. The most cars with the 16V head is combined with B230FK. The original B234F is pretty rare.

What an abomination the 16valve is. Got myself a 1988 745, the timing rollers have turned out to be fucked, and i can't get all of them due to the sodded war in you know where, so now, having spent about 300 euros on the belts, rollers, and pulleys, i'm waiting for some of them to arrive.... someday.
Swapping in a 230 short block to make a hybrid might have been comparable in terms of costs/nerves ratio.
    You live, you learn.

The B234F is a expensive choice compared to the B230F

@@ETA555 it's a 7, it's a 234f+m46. That's interesting, i thought, having always liked the 7 styling-wise, as compared to the 9, many of which i've had, and still have one. And i do like the car, it feels proper in its old-schoolness, it just needs more than i judged.
But apart from the servicing, this engine is sweet. It delivers its pulling power (what little it has of that) from almost idle, and doesn't complain, and throttle response is great. You can stick it into 3rd at 30, mash the throttle and it pulls the car along with no fuss.
