Some great tips prior to a day or two in the fens for me. Not fished there for 37+ years and cannot wait. Never had a double but so looking forward to it. Great video dan real place of beauty I fished there for around 20 years biggest 27 lb obviously won’t mention your location I don’t fish there anymore I’ve since moved on but many great catches and happy days there fenland isn’t for everyone but those who love it really do all the best my friend
Hi Dan, I’ve limited mobility but the stretch you fish seems to allow camper vans. How do I locate stretches where I can park next to the swims? Any advice gratefully received
Hi Richard, i'm afraid the stretch i fish (or used to fish) is private. The fens can be a little challenging but they do tend to run alongside the roads. Very often at bridges there will be space to park your car. Ramsey Forty Foot (tickets on the bank) is a good example where you can park on the grass and fish behind your car. You can also do this on the Old River Nene at Benwick (adjacent to Doddington Rd). Whittlesey Angling Association covers a lot of water and they have good access (with a number of disabled platforms). Hope this helps. Cheers Dan👍
Hi Dan ...a superb video mate and some lovely action with a magic '20' to top it off. I am from London but have been fishing the Fens (also a private stretch in that area) for 15+ years. I won't lie in recent years the fishing has been very tough but i don't use Lures or Livebait so just limited to deads. That said i have some memories for life. Tight Lines mate. Have you had any Zander there this season? Cheers Kem

The challenge being to find stretches that are not pressured (and poached!). I've had some nice Zander in the past from the Fen's but nothing recently. I've had a few zander from the Avon this season ( ua-cam.com/video/JXl01t3rFPw/v-deo.html ) but nothing too big. Tight lines, Cheers Dan.
Next time you think your life is bad and you are stressed alot. Imagine being a 5 inch roach swimming up and down that place every day. You don't know what stress is lol

Can I ask what your agenda is Dan? ... Pike these days are over-pressured and posting videos like this does not help the cause. Are you craving fame with your videos? Every pike I catch is kept to myself because I don't require 5 minutes of stardom but more important, the pike doesn't need these videos. Naming venues is a BIG no-no these days, enjoy your fishing but stop the videos
