This video is so fun. Watch me attempt to recreate all types of foods and drinks from your favorite Christmas movies: Charlie and the chocolate factory, home alone 2, the holiday, the 2018 grinch and the Polar express. We’re making pizza, hot chocolate in three ways, homemade chocolate candy, and a colorful peppermint bread. All these recipes, as always, happen to be vegan!

🎄INGREDIENTS + NOTES 🎄
#1 The Grinch: Fresh peppermint bread 0:21
60ml hot water (¼ cup)
80ml agave or maple syrup (⅓ cup)
80ml non dairy milk (⅓ cup)
5 to 10 drops peppermint baking aroma (or sub w vanilla)
2 tsp dry, active yeast
135g vegan butter (½ cup + 2 tbsp OR 4,76 oz)
380g flour (3 cups + 2 tbsp)
1 tsp salt
optional spices (such as ½ tsp cinnamon)
few drops red food coloring (plant based) ,or more if needed
→ yields 1 large bread (serves 4-6)
#2 Home Alone 2: Cheese Pizza 5:25
1/4 cup hot water (60ml)
1/2 cup cold water (125ml)
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp dry active yeast
255g 2 cups + 1 tbsp flour, more for surface
1 tbsp vital wheat gluten (sub with 1 tbsp flour)
3/4 tsp sea salt
1 tsp olive oil to drizzle on top, plus a little more for oiling your hands
½ tsp oil for oiling your bowl
also:
a few tbsp marinara sauce per pizza
2-3 handfuls vegan pizza cheese per pizza
→ yields 2 pizzas
#3 Charlie Chocolate Candy 9:02
for the chocolate halves:
180g your favorite bittersweet chocolate (6.3oz)
1 tsp vegan butter
2 tbsp walnuts, chopped
2 tbsp dried blueberries, chopped
5-10 drops caramel flavor
for the chocolate glue:
50g chocolate of choice (1.7oz), melted
also: candy wrappers or aluminum foil
#4 The Holiday: Hot Chocolate 13:00
1 cup oat milk (250ml)
1 tsp unsweetened baking cocoa
pinch of salt
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp dark chocolate chips
optional: 1 tsp sugar
also (vegan) marshmallows
→ serves 1
#5 Iced Chocolate 14:37
1 cup oat milk (250ml)
1 tsp unsweetened baking cocoa
pinch of salt
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp dark chocolate chips
optional: 1 tsp sugar
→ follow recipe #4 and allow the chocolate to cool down slightly, it should not be steaming anymore
½ cup - 1 cup ice cubes
vegan whipped cream
→ serves 1
#5 The Polar Express: Spicy Chocolate 15:00
1 cup oat milk (250ml)
1 tsp unsweetened baking cocoa
pinch of salt
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp dark chocolate chips
1 pinch chili powder
1 dash cinnamon
→ serves 1

Traditional Mexican hot chocolate (chocolate originated in Mexico (Central America) in case you didn't know) has chili in it. So yea, "Hot" (as in spicy) chocolate!
I am glad I am not the only one. Polar express movie is scary for me too.
My most favourite christmas movies are Charlie and the chocolate factory, Grinch and Home alone and Mrazik/Morozko with Czech dabbing especially XD. They always bring so many memories from childhood
My fav Christmas movie is definitely While You Were Sleeping with Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman and it's got a weird concept but it's sooo cute. The most iconic dish from that movie is probably eggnog--would be fun to see a vegan rendition of that one day if you haven't already tried it!

My favourite Christmas movies 🎄 if anyone is interested:
Morozko ("Jack Frost", from 1964) - a Soviet movie based on the Russian fairy tales. It´s over the top 🤣 But very nostalgic for me.
Tři oříšky pro Popelku ("Three Wishes for Cinderella" / "Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel", 1973) - Czechoslovak/East German movie based on the Cinderella fairy tale. It looks kinda realistic, but also magical? There´s snow everywhere. Hardcore nostalgia.
Home Alone (1990) and Home Alone 2 (1992) - everyone knows these, right? Who wouldn´t want to have a house/hotel room just for themselves?
Love Actually (2003) - because they made me watch it every year during English class 😄It´s fun though, I gave in. Every British actor is in it.
Jack Frost (1998) - an American movie about a boy whose father dies and turns into a snowman... Fun, but bittersweet...
Bad Santa (2003) - an american movie about a con man who works as a Santa and robs malls and drinks and swears a lot 🤣
In Bruges (2008) - more like an Advent movie. A very dark comedy, with gorgeous scenery. Will watch any day!

What a fun video! Actual peppermint flavored bread is a stroke of genius. Personally, as much as I love Johnny Depp, I hate his Willy Wonka. Very much prefer the earlier version which was more charming and less in your face moralistic (and closer to the book, although Roald Dahl reportedly hated the film).
With temperatures being comfortably uncomfortable tomorrow, I may just need to try out that hot chocolate 😊

My favourite animated movies would be "Polarexpress" & DEFINITELY "Klaus" 🎅🤩 (talking of terrifying things, I wouldn't recommend for small children though 😅).
"Love Actually" and "While you were sleeping" as oldies but goldies and if you weren't happy about things said in "Kevin in New York", I would NOT recommend to watch "Home alone" in german 😵💫, but I suppose you didn't miss the discussion about the german translation in the past couple of years... just a no go 🤯🙄🤦🏼♀️
The vilain in Home Alone 2 is Tim Curry. His smile is very recognisable, he look like the Cheshire Cat.

Nah you mix it with the other cold ingredients to create perfect lukewarm temperature without having to use a thermometer:)
