Hell yeah! Count me in! My categories are:
1. Planners, journals, notebooks, and stationery--the only exception is if I run out of something like correction tape or double-sided tape. I seriously doubt I will run out of ANYTHING else planner-related. I have enough pens, markers, sticky notes, stickers, washi, etc. to last thru and beyond 2024!
2. Purses, tote bags (including reusable shopping bags), wallets, and pen/makeup pouches--NO exceptions! I will be decluttering this category in the next few days, and I do not plan to buy any replacements. I'm going to do my best to stick to one or two purses max. I'll have to stay away from the Walmart clearance aisles, and when I donate, I'm not allowed to walk into the thrift store afterward to shop! Those are my two biggest weaknesses.
3. Organization products--the only exception is if the ones I already have get broken or too worn down to use. This includes baskets, bins, boxes, drawer dividers/organizers, and desktop sorters/organizers.
4. Clothes--the only exception is if it's to replace a piece that is ripped or severely stained, and once those are replaced, that's it. No buying to replace clothes that don't fit because I have plenty that do. We'll cross that bridge if I lose enough weight to warrant it! Other than that, nope!

I'm doing a no buy again this year! I meant to pay off 1/3 of my debt this year but I found paying my debt off so much more satisfying than buying more stuff that I ended up paying off about $40 short of half the debt! I am budgeting for about paying off 75% of the remaining total amount in 2024 but am not so secretly hoping that I will pay it all off!
Aw, hell. 8 minutes, 37 seconds of Cindy not only calling herself out but calling me out, too. I see myself participating in a # challenge this year. And the Amazon no buy? Crap. I need to do that because I don’t NEED anything either. Dammit. Saving money in 2024, here I come.

I'm doing a no buy on Amazon for the whole year. I discovered so many times this year that buying off of a brands site is way cheaper (if i'm looking for a specific brand).

I did it for 2022. Best thing ever. Yes at times it was harder than could imagine, but wow best thing ever. I got more from my no buy year then all the years and all the things I bought since I found Amazon.
Sometimes I'll still buy directly from the brand even if it's a little cheaper on Amazon. Just to break that Amazon habit, and try not to support an Amazon monopoly
I've been on a mostly successful "no buying new books until I have read everything in my house and gotten rid of what I do not want to reread" challenge since I moved out of my parents' house, and between gifts and bringing books from my parents' house there are still books in my house I have not read, so that is my main "use your shit" category! I would also like to use up some of the fountain pen ink samples I have hanging around.
Doing a no buy this year again! No stationery/stickers/ fountain pens / anything in the crafting category for Q1 and Q2/ most of Q3. When planner time comes I'm only buying with cash that I'm saving up through the year, so my planners/black Friday shopping will all be with cash. 🌟
One challenge I really enjoyed in 2023 was using up sticker sheets in a weekly plan with me... I think you started with 5 or 6 sticker sheets and only had half a sheet left over. It was soooo satisfying to watch you move the remaining stickers to the empty sheet and watching you crumble up the empty sheets. 💖🌞🌵😷
We are doing a 2024 no spend, we will do essentials. That’s it. We are also doing a monthly declutter in each area of the house…. Jan is my kitchen
I always start my year with a no spend for Target and Amazon (my two kryptonites) and it really helps me to reset for the new year! I have two other months planned (May and October) as well to give some resets throughout the year.

Your video is highly motivating! I am going to focus on decluttering all of the things . . . paper stuff, books, clothes, misc. crap. We've lived in our house for over 25 years and have accumulated so much crap!
Really like the "use-up-your-s**t" mentatility! I tend to plan out months in advance so I've been doing that all day and using up washitape, stickers, and random paper that I have lying around because I don't want to spend money on new stuff! It's been working out really well, and using up all these stickers is so satisfying!

No buy 2024 for me includes:
• Statonary… use shit up and like u, only buy if I don’t have something else to replace in that category.
• Yarn… use shit up! Don’t buy for new projects but plan projects with the yarns I already have. Only ok to buy if someone orders and pay me to crochet a specific thing.
•Skincare… also use up shit. Only buy new if I don’t have a replacement in that category.
Every month I will put aside 100 dollars-ish (1000 swedish kronor), kind of the amount more or less that I buy shit for now. And then at the end of the year take that money and do something really fun with my husband ❤
The Big bonus I think, come 2025, will be less shit in my life and more peace of mind… a win win 🤩
I'm on board for the #UseYourShit2024 challenge! With the new features that Cricut has added, I never need to buy another damn sticker again. I mean, I will, but not in 2024! I have a metric shit ton of HP sticker books. Each has 30 pages, so I'm going to try to go through the equivalent of TWO sticker books next year. Let the sticker sneezing commence!
I have 6 Happy planner sticker books one Harry Potter one (don't remember brand) and around 2 books of pages (some HP some other planner brand) and a boat load of "kids" stickers I love and need to use on my planner, plus all the scrapbook paper scraps I also hope to use on it... and I really need to do better using up my washi tapes😢 I told myself I have no business buying stickers more so when my sister and my mom always gift me cute stickers they find
Last year I did a low buy on clothes. I could only buy new undergarments and work pants (I'm tall and it's hard to find professional pants). Anything else I wanted had to be purchased at thrift stores. Well I usually hate shopping so I only went to thrift stores a couple times and I actually found some brand new dress pants perfect for work. I only bought a couple of undergarments new. 2024 my going to continue that same low buy. I'm adding a low buy from Amazon. I can only buy 20 personal - I want items. I think this is going to be tough for me.
I am with you - all of you - don't need anymore office supplies or planner supplies for personal use. I am also intrigued by no Amazon for a month. Kinda getting the sweats thanking about it - which means it is probably needed.

I also need to actually finish some of my projects, especially the ones involving yarn. I didn't buy any more yarn last year, but I didn't actually finish any projects either. So maybe what I need to do is challenge myself to finish a project (or chunk of a larger project) every month.
Standing with you on the planner no-buy. ‘Metric sh@t ton’ of planner supplies is an excellent way to describe my stash. Like you, I did a complete no-spend on stickers, planners, paper, pens (exception being my everyday black gel pens), washi, everything. I know that I am the type that buys ALL the things when I’m in a hobby, so I’ve got a lot over the six years. I’m either using an extension pack or redating my planners. I also dropped Prime and will be going back to eBay, since the mailman comes my way 6 days a week and many things come with free shipping there too, if not same/next day. Don’t need to add to the carbon, plus, my son worked for them and they’re horrible to their people.
Not doing a no buy, maybe a low buy in several categories. Possibly moving mid year and that always motivates me to declutter and use up extras of what I have, esp health and beauty.
I am joining in a stationery & planner supplies no buy. Also, cleaning products and til I get to my last of each type of cleaning product. Those are my problem areas.
I’m in. I have a No buy for sticker books, kits, pens and journals. I too will only purchase if it needs replaced completely.
I’ve been trying to sort out my version of a no but for the coming year. The first thing I have done is to cancel a metric f tonne of subscriptions. Like $200 a month worth. Having those things is not worth the finances. Especially now. I also gave away a large cardboard box full of comp planner supply purchases because I always just knew there was a plastic tote filled with them that I would never use. I still have more to whittle down, now that I know what I actually use.
I think I’m going to budget $50 a month for myself as my spending allotment, more so than categories.
I'm doing a No Buy right now for January. I also plan on doing it for a few more months later in the year. I'm not buying any planner stuff this month, take out and a few other things.

Hi, I've just discovered your channel. I decided to do a no buy year on journals and journaling supplies as I have several hundred notebooks ready to be used. So far, I have failed miserably 😂 but I'm having a big reset now that's its april and I'm determined to keep to the no buy plan. Charity shops are my downfall. I have several down the road and that's where I've bought most of my notebooks. I'm banning myself from going anywhere near them.
Currently doing a low buy month, which I hope I'll extend to cover this whole year, just vary the rules depending on what I'll actually *need* each upcoming month, or at least really *really* want so that I can focus on that thing that month. I know I'll need some clothing later this year (bc unfortunately clothes doesn't shrink with you when you lose weight), and I'll probably want some books etc. But I need to get my overconsumtion under control ASAP. So I'm aiming for a low spend. This month my main focus is clothes and yarn that I haven't got any planned project for.

I did a low buy for 2023 and I stuck to it for stickers, washi etc. unfortunately I went ham on planners & pens, fountain pens to be exact. For 2024, it’s strictly use what I have first and only buy to replenish something vital. I’m also purging stuff I dont use so the things I actually will use arent hidden in the clutter.

I am going to do my Stationery No-Buy again this year too. I did really well last year and only bought a few spiral notebooks for my work. I do not need any more pens, paper, or anything either! I am not going to buy any more spiral notebooks either as I have plenty of other paper I need to use up first. So that's the plan 😀
Similar to the #UseYourShit2024 challenge, I'm finishing all of my unfinished craft projects this year. I'm horrible at starting projects and then leaving them for something newer and shinier. I've gone through my craft room and made a huge list of everything I've abandoned or never even started. It feels so good to finish an old project!
My no buy is for 2 nail polish sales sites. Polish Pickup and Hella Handmade Creations only open for a few days each month to sell nail polish and other products from small independent makers. I love supporting small businesses but unfortunately it adds up. There’s almost always something that I “need” so it’s hard for me to say no but I NEED to say no to myself because I’m running out of room and I need to buy other things besides nail polish. I’m only allowing myself 1 exception each for the entire year. 😅 It’s gonna be hard is all I can say. 😣
I am just setting myself a budget each month. Trying to keep my impulse buying under control. I started with YNAB on the 1st and am really trying to do a true budget for the year and figure out where all my money goes! LOL

OMG...I am using my sh*t too. I seriously have year's worth of stickers and washi. I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to use as much of it as possible. Everything is getting a sticker and washi this year (lol). So, no planner supplies, pens, highlighters, etc., are needed whatsoever this year.

My most outrageous spending in 2023 was Amazon, books, subscriptions, and stickers.
Books…I’m only allowed auto-buy authors who add 1 or 2 new books to series that I always read the second I get them. My Kindle and Audible are full of books to read. If I see a new release that sounds irresistible, I’ll borrow it from the library or wait until 2025.
Stickers…I just made a purchase from Happy Planner. It arrived yesterday and I love everything I got. But I don’t need any of it. I’m limiting myself to custom script stickers if I run out of supplies. Or, I’ll hand-write the words. I don’t need anything else.
Amazon…limiting to $50 every other month.
Subscriptions…get rid of any subscriptions I did not use in 2023 and stick that cash straight into my savings. Such a waste! (I had 3 subscriptions come due this fall. I canceled all of them and don’t miss them at all.)
Omg, I’m so with you on this! In January I’m doing a no-buy on Amazon; a VERY low-buy when it comes to food (we have a TON of proteins in our freezers, and I need to clear out the pantry); and I WILL NOT WILL NOT WILL NOT buy any stickers. I mean it! I will plan to alternate months for no-buys. I want to do five or six no- or low-buys this year. We have some financial goals we want to meet this year as well.

Using my shit!!! I'm gonna take it one quarter at a time, amazon will be a hard one. A big category for me is food, I was great at this until covid grocery restrictions on buying and now I have stocked enough groceries in the house that if I don't go back for 9 months I'll be fine. I'm gonna get it back to a one month supply so I get my living space back.

I'm planning to also do a no-buy for clothes this year. I lost enough weight to get into my size 16 stuff that was in bins and I need to wear all that stuff all year! I also want to make gifts this year instead of purchasing them. Got a long list to reflect on and decide on what to make. But ultimately, I must refill my coffers with some moolah. We had a lot of electronic stuff that needed replacing and my portable garage replacement cover ended up costing a ton more because we had to redo the whole area. I'm excited though to see my savings grow!
My biggest thing is starting to get a handle on my budget and doing a.savings challenge. Im going to incorporate a "no spend" week each month.

Last years no buy was split into quarters with the exception of hair and face products. I did a no buy q2&3 on essential oils cause I have a crap ton. Did a no clothing for a q1.

Yes! #useyourshit2024 I am with you. Last year instead of monthly themes in my bujo I chose 2 washi tapes and used them as color inspiration every month. I used a bunch of it, but didn’t actually finish a single roll! Going for round 2 this year.
I love the hashtag! Actually the category that I really need to use up are washi! Was definitely in the mindset of "need to have cuz everyone uses them!" so I stocked up even though I never used them before. They just kinda sat in drawers cuz I didn't know what to do with them. I've used up maybe 1 or 2 far but it's pretty satisfying! Hope to go through another 1 or 2 again this next year!

Amazon is such a black hole for me. This year it will be TP, tissues, paper towels, birthday and holiday gifts, and spices or such that I might need. I do have two subscriptions from Sterling Ink and Mandy Lynn Plans for my B6 CP and my other SI planner and booklet. Not sure if I will keep them long term or not.

I love this! I am planning to join you in this. Over the past 5 years I have done "depth years" (go deep not wide in ones hobbies) which was a thing on IG a while back. I have about 40 years of accumulated craft supplies in my stash. Other than things like pens or glue, I don't need anything either! Keep the videos coming, it is very inspiring.

Ah. that's the piece I am missing on the no buy-low buy. Use my s**t. That goes for my store of planner and notebook supplies. It also goes for my subscriptions. If I'm not using it, dump it. If I want to keep it, then I HAVE to use it. Make it worth the continuing investment.

I like the categories! I've been focusing on using my shit up and it's empowering to USE the things I have that are precious and I'm on a roll with it now. I found a few methods to help me along the way... like with a precious notebook: when I know I'm going to use multiple sections in it, I've tabbed them out at the signature level so I can easily cut those sections out to transplant them later if needed. So if I can figure out a way that makes it reusable later on I'll tend to use the thing up! I've been using my notebooks so much lately that I've been needing to refill my fountain pens on a weekly basis, which is also great for that stash.... hah so they all help each other.
A big goal this year was to get all my stationary stuff in a single place and more or less organized. So now I can go into 2024 knowing what I have etc... I ripped up some old planners and managed to salvage some of the nice unused paper and make it into smaller notebooks using other shipping materials for the covers. Lots of reuse options.
I've also got stickers that don't quite fit my hobonichi cousin, but they would fit the dailies just fine! I've been playing with some of the wider stickers in the weeklies and they still work for other uses. Also, the magic of a good craft knife can make all things possible.
I've also been categorizing certain themes in my house to use certain stationary things up. Like using extra stickers to make magnet labels and specific themes are matched. Like lemonade goes with my power tools/hardware storage, coffee stuff for cooking/kitchen, etc.

I don't want to buy any newspapers for coupon inserts because they expire so fast and the cost of a newspaper is so expensive it's not worth it and I only go shopping once or twice a month anyways and I can get coupons from contacting companies by phone and email plus the special coupons have longer expiration dates. Then its coupons on stuff my family uses manly food coupons which helps

Ugg I need the Amazon one. My issue is I’m a flight attendant and Amazon is just so convenient. I know I’d spend way less if I went to a physical store but I’m not always around to get stuff when I need/want it.

I for sure know I want to concentrate on using up a sticker book each month (and I get monthly kit stickers which I am pretty good about using up. Just want to concentrate on using even more of it up each month).

I'm doing one full week a month of only using leftovers. It could be leftover stickers, or just washi and pens. I'm the person who buys a kit a week, and I'm great at planning that and not overbuying....but I keep all the leftovers. So I'm leaving space each month to use those leftovers and get creative!

No buy here! All I’m buying is yarn from hobby lobby with a $100 gift card I got for Christmas. Making use of what I have. Nothing extra. I’m broke already anyway so that helps. 😅

Im not saying no buy, because that makes me want to spend money I am calling it savings for a future concert/trip. For 2024 I plan on using more of my stuff, I am telling myself I can't buy more craft stuff or planner stuff until I start making space in the already assigned spaces for them (already started using stuff for one of the 3 junk journal type journal I plan on making), can't get more notebooks unless I keep filling them. And Im setting boundaries for myself like can only buy unplanned stuff (less than $100) after birthday, mother's day and such. Plus I already know I will want to spend on a mystery box than comes out on November. My plan is to motivate myself into wanting to use most of my stuff, make time to create all the projects Ive hand in mind for a few years and save money for a new want that I have around 2 years to save for without adding that burden for my husband as Im a stay at home mom and I know my want will be expensive from what Ive heard and I decided the want is enough for me to set aside most of the money my family gift me on special occasions so that I can make that new dream come true😊
I havent decided if I'm going for a low-buy or a no-buy this year and I need to sit down and figure out exactly what i'm aiming for. Frankly it really should be a no-buy because holy crap do I own way way way too much stuff. #useyourshit2024 should probably be my word of the year. LOL.
