South Point is my favorite to stay at. Lots of activities, rodeos, bowling alleys, movies, etc. Great buffet too!

I love South Point. Great staff and a wonderful property. Very relax atmosphere.
American Air put me here after a cancelled flight. Loved it so much I returned twice this year, and I always stay Palazzo and Bellagio. South Point is HUGE. There is even a full sized movie theater, and bowling alley onsite. So many great food options, both super affordable and very high end. Best deal though, is the $4.99 steak/eggs dinner every single night beginning at 12am. Its great! Oh and another thing, the slots here pay out so much better than the strip properties and the sports books is one of the best in town. .

We have stayed at The Southpoint several times on our trips to Las Vegas. We like it very much. We like the free parking, the ease of check in, the pool not being crowded and able to get a lounge chair. Our room ( not a suite) has always been nice. The restaurants are good also. We are booked there again in July!

Flew into Vegas September 2019. Had 3 nights booked at the Rio, left after 1, place is a dump. Moved to M, stayed 2 nights, very nice except no poker room. Went to Flagstaff, stopped at dam, went to Grand Canyon. Returned to Vegas. Stayed at South Point for 3 nights. Great spot. Your video didn’t do it justice. Great poker room. Large pool outdoors. Lots for kids. Movie theatre, bowling alley. Very spacious inside. Lots of room in lobby like you show. Very spacious casino floor. Couple of nice restaurants. Highly recommended.

when you showed the no pot smoking sign...that has my girlfriend wanting to stay there. last time we were at 4queens and the pot smell was so bad...and they said they couldnt do anything about it.

Have stayed there in the past, but they raised the hotel room prices so much that we stopped. Loved the ability of having the theater and bowling alley all in one. Wish they would lower their rates again.
This is the place i prefer to stay. Its got everything you could ask for and the staff are very professional and helpful. Been here several times for bowling events. They have 2 centers here. One for every day use and one for tournament use. Its awesome

I love getting a look inside all these hotels😍 I've been in their casino & one of the restaurants, but haven't stayed there yet...but I have stayed twice at the Grandview.😊 Some might think it's a long ways awayfrom the strip, but really, if you have a car, it's really a very quick drive down LV Blvd. Very convenient.😉 Thank you!! Green Valley Ranch...great buffet, great indoor areas, movie theater, great outdoor pool.
We have been coming to LV first in 1983 we stayed mostly at the Orleans since they opened in the 90's . Last year we stayed at Fiesta South , nice but breakfast was very expensive . We have two rooms at South Point in October one for our son and daughter in law . Always had a rental car , now it's best for our son to drive us around .You can get two rooms at the South Point plus a car for what they charge up on the strip for one room so bring one of your kids to Las Vegas . We stayed 2 nights free when it was the South Coast can't remember when . Hope my daughter and son like the hotel , we are just glad to still be coming to Vegas. I have been to the M resort farther south. Nice but the slots were not very good at paying out.
Definitely a must! I’ve stayed at South Point and it was an awesome experience. Very nice and clean and laid back hotel away from the strip.

Yes staying at the south point casino is a must. Nice big rooms,very clean and the garden buffet is good

Great video. I like staying here when my son comes with me. Bowling alley. Arcades, and Movie theater.
Stayed there multiple times, with and without kids. It's a great hotel, beautifully furnished with excellent amenities and customer service. Plenty to do with kids, movie theater, bowling, arcade. Also has great food for all ages, steak and shake (kids loved it), steakhouse and seafood place were my fave.
My wife and I stay at the Southpoint every time we come to LV, at least twice each year. Fabulous!
Hey, I was at this South Point complex by luck just 4 weeks ago. (I was driving the strip way south-bound).
I was also taken by how big and neat this place was - despite being in the middle of nowhere.

Excellent work Steve. Popular with locals but the clientele is really diverse. People come from all over the USA for their sport/hobby tournaments in so many areas. Good for families, singles and all ages.

South Point has been my go-to Hotel&Casino for not only Gambling, but vacationing year round for the past 15 years! My family would stay at the South Point when I was just a kid and now whenever I am personally in Vegas with friends or my honey, I choose the South Point over any Hotel&Casino in Vegas. The tables have a low minimum and the slots are due to pay-out more often than you think, very family friendly hotel & honestly it is NOT that far from the Strip as some people like to claim!
I really like South Point. I’ve stayed twice. Recently in mid January of 2020. No complaints at all. The staff is very professional. Great security. Cocktail waitresses are pretty as well as efficient and business like. The maids are quiet and work hard. Rooms are quiet and comfortable. Gaming is very fair in my opinion. I recommend you to give it a try. Your basically about 10 miles South of the main strip. But you just hop on the 15 and it’s fairly quick.

I'm using the free music that UA-cam has for creators, there are other options but they're all paid and you have to keep paying if you ever stop paying the company that you started paying to begin with will make sure you can't monetize your videos

Looks like a very nice room. I,m impressed. If I was staying for more than a few days where time is of the essence, South Point looks like a cool place to stay. I'm a bowler, so I'd appreciate them having the lanes to bowl on. Nice video.
I always stay at the South Point. It’s not nearly as far away from the strip as most reviewers would have you believe. It’s roughly fifteen minutes to Mandaly Bay even with traffic. And there’s an entrance to I-15 right behind the hotel. About 20 minutes to downtown (unless it’s rush hour). Not bad at all.
Yes plan to stay there early next year. I like staying at multiple different locations each trip. Great way to explore
I was just in that area last month. I was looking for rental property. I was too early in my search and there was too many units available. Now I have a realtor sending me listings. Best way to go when looking for property in Las Vegas. I like that area and I hope to find something that's worth the money. Thank you.
What kind of play do you have to do to get that room comped? They usually put me in the junior suite.
I love South Point, its really the only Casino I go to when I am in Vegas. They have 2 bowling alleys (1 public, and 1 for PBA and other tournaments), if memory serves me right they also have indoor air conditioned horse stalls (100) for the the rodeo, they also host (I think) the BMX nations, a massive movie theater, and more. I also bought in to The Grand View, which I am very happy with.

Great video! I would have loved to have seen the bowling ally and movie theaters because I have a lot of family coming out from all over with their families. I've heard it is a great family place to stay. I really enjoy your take on Vegas, It's real and refreshing!

Very helpful. Thank you. The is well shot and the rooms are exceptionally appointed. I love the fact that you have a kitchen-ette and a sunken bathtub. 1000 sq. feet, that is bigger than my apartment. Perfect for 2 people. Large closet a plus. The music and the room together makes this a luxury style accommodations. I think it is worth not being on the strip. I wish we can see the grounds and the other amenities. Thank you for this High Quality video with such deail.

I never gamble but go to Vegas every January to get away from Chicago's winter we stay at the hotel take a taxi or shuttle downtown love this place

Just left Vegas and we saw this hotel by chance as the shuttle was picking up hotel guests to go to horse trail in the desert. I love the idea of being away from the strip... Wow.. Didn't know it had all these amazing amenities!! The sidewalk hustlers gets annoying on the strip. Will definitely check it out when I return

My cousin has a timeshare at the Cancun Resort. Next time I see her....I'll see if I can vlog a walkaround. The pools and rooms looked nice. It's south of the strip as well but she has a great view of Vegas.
I have Timeshare there as well..Make sure they show you the Penthouse..
Thanks Stephen. We bowl there every other year for a tournament. We enjoy staying there. We don't stay in the suite of course but the regular rooms are nice also.
SP, M Resort, and Palms are our favorite when we visit LV.
Rooms have hardwood floors now. South Point provides complementary slippers. It is more sanitary than carpeting.
I have had the pleasure of staying at the South Point a number of times and have enjoyed every one. The free shuttle from and to the airport is priceless. The 16 screen movie house is a great break when your luck runs low in the casino. The average room is larger than most places on the strip and the buffet, while not having a world class chef behind, is still very good and reasonably priced. The late nite/early morning specials at the cafe are some of the best deals in Vegas.
Yup I love the South Point. I feel like it might be the best rooms in Vegas for the price. Also awesome bowling alley, friendly staff and just a bit more laid back. My favorite place to stay by far.
Hello Steven, love your channel. After American Airlines put me up there when our flight was canceled - i got lucky. Fabulous Hotel. I will stay there when i come back in 2023. One of the very best rooms ever. One of the very best buffets ever. I missed Norm McDonald by one night.

Really fresh, appealing decor for an Off-Strip property. You mentioned Poker: do you know if there (or other Casinos) that feature Texas Hold 'Em, where I could watch as a spectator? I've only seen other vids of either tournaments or private, roped off areas. Ps a fun topic would be exploring the tired Motels that offer locals' gaming and any other quirky amenities.

Greetings from Toronto. I’ve stayed at the South Point about six times and it’s definitely worth getting away from the craziness of the strip. It’s safe with lots of free parking with a great relaxed atmosphere and several
good eating choices. The rooms are spacious and modern and you get value for your money. I’d stay there again.
South Point looks interesting.Always a great history lesson included. I would like to know the room rates and any discounts accepted on the rooms you review and maybe a glance at the room service menus and in room amenities and services offered. Sometimes we just like to stay in the room all day, if you know what I mean!!!

South Point is one of my favorite properties. I always enjoyed the NY steak graveyard special at the coronado cafe, and would pay with my birthday points. Back in the day I would play the really slow 9/6/90 jacks or better along the wall near the player's club. It was a lot of fun hitting a SF for 450 coins. I would hit them up for some coupons; get a 4OAK and earn a free buffet. Great property. I am glad it's not on the strip.
A couple of things on the south point casino was there a buffet and the price also the table stakes on the craps table .Do they run Texas Holden tournaments and what about bars inside and were the coffee maker a Krueger .
Two things I admire about Las Vegas is Mr Wynn and the weather the beauty of Vegas .
Cannot forget Boulder City and Boulder Dam that would be a great place to live little cute town and by water .
Good to have options. I prefer the noisy strip.

We LOVE South Point, we have stayed in their top floor suites, they provide sodas and water in the fridge and they restock it for free. You didn’t mention their bowling centers and their movie theatres. We have reservations for July 2020 there (hope it will be open by then), haven’t heard any word on that yet.
I would definitely stay there, looks fine to me. But I have already stayed at the big joints on the strip over the years so I'm kind of done with that. If Vegas is your kind of place then everyone ought to experience that at least once. After that, a place like this might appeal to you. Good video, thanks!

When attending the Glass Expo I stayed there. My room was nice but not like the suite.If I were not attending the Expo I would not go off the strip. The was strange with the glass people and the cowboys with the bull riding. It was too crowded to try good or better restaurants on property so got food at a quicker place inside casino. Saw Tony Orlando perform. Good show.
I’m from London, England and have stayed here twice. Both time I had a great stay but you definitely need a hire car. The distance from the strip is not an issue as it allows you to take a break from the madness. Good food, nice rooms and friendly service.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that south end of LV blvd. For the last 5 years I've exclusively stayed at The M. I used to be a Total Rewatds member staying at all the hotels in that family...but that got old. For me, being at The M you're away from the strip but can go there if/when you want. Your videos are a great resource for local interests too! Thanks!

Wow, Southpoint, pretty nice for an off the strip casino...and I’ve passed many times.. the suite is only good for newlyweds who will wont go out much...and when I’m in LV, I don’t usually stay at these over-priced rooms, when I can get a normal room and spend my money wisely...but, I will surely visit on your advise, thanks Steve, please more of the same type of off the strip locations
I love the South Point I lived 2 miles away from it for 10 years. They have it all !! They have an outstanding large sportsbook that also
has a large separate racebook. Very unique in Las Vegas. They have Two complete bowling centers. Both have 60 lanes (I believe) The pavilion lanes are stadium style where the have The National ABC bowling tournament. One year it’s the Men’s tournament and the following year it’s the ladies National Tournament. They alternate with the Bowling Stadium facility in Reno, NV. The have a complete equestrian arena, that comfortably seats 3 or 4 thousand people. The center is easily converted to a basketball arena, motorcross, bike cross and use your imagination they can do it. The place is a goldmine, it’s popular with locals, and tourists alike. They are the staging area for all the NASCAR Haulers, they sponsor the fall NASCAR Race. The have complete race packages for both events.(Rooms, Transportation, Tickets). The equestrian events are too numerous to mention & many are free to attend. They are a top location for The NFR in December. They cater to the Rodeo Crowd with the Grand Ballroom set up for shopping where you and find anything cowboy. I worked for 18 yrs at the MGM Grand since in opened in 1993. This resort is truly amazing in there marketing. The open there convention rooms for the Super Bowl ( Big Game as it’s called in town). Seats about 4,000 and a great place to watch the game with your friends. Betting windows are present in the room. Same thing for Match Madness, I personally think it’s the best March Madness location in Las Vegas. The restaurants cover a wide variety of ethnic food. The buffet is nice fair price fair meal. They have a 24 cafe. They have a nice complete Spa. Live Poker Room. Ample free parking including a 7 story parking structure. Michael Gaughn has mastered effective marking and makes the most of this very efficient resort. They have a showroom that seats about 500. I rate this property very high because they always have something interesting going on. ✌️ Peace !!
@Steven Davis Thanks for the rundown on all the SP features. The racebook is the thing I'm most interested in. It sounds like my type since it's separate from the sportsbook. That means I don't have to search for a big screen in amongst the ones showing baseball and football. I believe I read somewhere, that just a $2 horse bet will get you a free drink ticket too... Table minimums for craps and other games there. Is it $5?
ABC is no longer around, its USBC now, and the PBA holds tournaments there.
Thank you sirg2424, I lived in Milwaukee back in the 80’s when the ABC was in Greendale, WI... but I’ve been completely out of the bowling business since 1991. I was a 24 lane center manager and bowled 2 or 3 leagues a week. Had friends at the ABC, they did the junior bowlers there too. But I haven’t picked up a bowling ball since 1991. Completely burned out on a sport I had loved for years. Peace ✌️and thanks for correction !!
Stayed there a few times good place to stay and Los of good restaurants always had a good time there

I used to stay at the SouthPoint a lot, I have probably stayed there 5-6 different Vegas trips. Nice casino off the strip, they used to have great rooms rates an give out good coupon books. I'm not sure lately since they started doing the resort fee's I stopped staying there. I figure I might as well be on the strip if I'm paying resort fee's, but the SouthPoint is a good casino to stay at, the average room is bigger than most other hotels an always clean, one of my favorites overall.
Can vouch for the video poker. Hit my first ever royal flush there a couple of years ago. Lot of machines too.
