The Tifo Podcast is one of two football podcasts that makes a weird, geeky person who loves this sport feel like he belongs in this fandom. From random pop culture references, to weird tangents, and to talking about football from so many perspectives that I learn something new. It was the introduction to your humor, your knowledge, and just the pure chaos at times that showed I’m not alone in this sport in being a geek who loves football (which is hard to find in this sport). While I will listen until the end, I’ll deeply miss this show. Thank you for everything.

Tifo is one of the few spaces where the game is talked about in its purest form without sacrificing the fun and entertainment. Hope football circles become more like Tifo.
Same here. Quite heartbroken about it, not to be too hyperbolic. I imagine I am in the minority when I say it was the Tifo Podcast that eventually led me to watch their videos. But I have been an avid listener/watcher of the podcast since the earliest iterations. Gonna be hard waiting for the new podcast format whatever it ends up being.
This podcast was the best part of Tifo. It was something to look forward to ever week. Will miss the banter between the guys and the top analysis. It's a shame really.
I feared that eventually the NYT would kill it once allocation disorder was folded and sam stestkal was moon doored, i fear the total soccer show is next on the block(if you like silly podcasts about footbal). Its less silly but the total football analysis podcast is pretty good for this content, and they are their own website.

Hope the new podcast will be more in depth chats about what you want to talk about, and not just trying to cover all matches. You've such access to amazing writers with deep knowledge so it'd be great to go deep on it
As someone from the U.S., i randomly stumbled onto the Tifo illustration channel when you guys were starting out. That got me into the podcast and Tifo IRL. Sad to see it go, but really hope to see your banter on videos still. Thanks for making my weekday that much better!

When you beat a team 6-1 there are elements of the losing team being bad but I thought TIFO might have touched on what made Newcastle good in that game a bit more. It’s not just on how bad spurs were. If it was Man City who won 6-1 it would be all about how good they were, especially Willockhino,s KDB style pass?
Joe - you can roll up a bit of tissue paper into a little wodge, then soak it in luke warm water, pop it over the wound bite down very gently on it, and voila - you can smoke without losing your clot. I have used this method to safely smoke (heavily) through 2 root canals. This is not medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Great recap of Newcastle’s best win in years. ‘Newcastle played great. Anyway, here’s ten more tedious minutes about the mess at Spurs’ Not a hater. Pod is sound but come on man, is there anything that can be said about Spurs that hasn’t already been churned out? We had Jacob Murphy, Longstaff, Manquillo, Lascelles etc in a side that battered a Spurs side littered with really good players. Give us our time in the sun- we got stuck with Beckford and Deeney droning on MOTD 2. Come coherent praise would have been lovely!

Feels like less and less of the "smaller" teams are getting a say, didn't even talk about Bournemouth 0 - 4 West Ham, at least not according to the timestamps. Hopefully the new style captures more of what I loved about it last year. Looking forward to it

I cannot lie, I am deeply bummed that this iteration of the podcast is ending. My excitement was unmatched each Tuesday I awoke and this was waiting for me. But I understand why it can't continue, and I'm looking forward to what you guys have in store in the future.
I mean the main reason is money guys right? 🤣 short videos are quicker and cheaper to produce and are catch a wider if less consistent audience. I understand the logic it just sucks, same reason the other interesting formats got canned

Man this isn't the news i wanted to hear. Either way i've been following the podcast for about a year now, it's quickly become one of my favorites and i love and apreciate the work that went into it and all the hosts.
I didn't come here for razor sharp analysis, I came for the levels of seriousness tifo applies to football. The athletic pods in comparison are just a big laugh and lack the requisite sombre and professional tone of this.
Feels pretty deliberate. I’d say you can expect it to continue until we no longer have despotic oil state owners or the podcast ends, whichever happens first.
Maybe they’ve accepted Abu Dhabi has already been through the sportswash, whereas Saudi Arabia hasn’t even reached the rinse cycle. Could be there’s still time to pull the plug by refusing to mention Newcastle on the podcast.
Cant help but feel bad for the arsenal players. But it was always evident that it would be very hard with their depth to maintain the same intensity for 38 games with a team like city chasing you.
I hope that you guys know we will all miss you, seriously made me fall in love with the game again because while I was going to school I was getting sick of the punditry, the political climate of the game, etc. I know I don’t know any of you personally but you’ve been a huge part of my life and it makes me sad, and I hope you guys continue doing whatever you love and have awesome careers doing whatever is next

Thank you for all the insight gained and all the smiles that I had when listening to your podcast. It had become part of my routine to listen to it on Tuesdays. I hope that ending the podcast just means: "ending this fixed format of getting together to talk about football on this specific day in the week, making sure that we have enough bullet points, making sure that we cover all the bullet points, making sure that it is about one hour long and making sure that everyone is ready and has time etc". I hope that it does not mean that you do not produce videos in which you discuss football any more. I hope that on the contrary you produce more such topic-related discussions - e. g.: discussing Union Berlin's rise or discussing Brighton's success etc. It might be even liberating and better that way because then you could just talk as long as you want instead of having to stop some interesting discussions after 10 minutes because you had many other topics on your list. I think my personal highlight so far was the way Jon and Seb talked about the fan-culture in Germany, taking the example of Freiburg and Union Berlin. I am from Germany but never knew what a gem this fan-culture was compared to others. Now I want to go see more games there :).

Came here from Spotify - I'd had this feeling for the longest while that our Lord Joe Bovine had had enough of suffering the other mortals and our insatiable thirst for football, especially when he took that long hiatus in between to satisfy his insatiable thirst for chaos. I'd honestly thought he'd got the sack along with Conte, Potter et al but this news is much more devastating. This Podcast, which comes out Tuesday mornings here in India, is more than ritual - its almost become part of my personality. Going to miss this more I can say and more than I want to admit because Joe will make fun of me. Will savour the weeks to come - being one of the lads never felt more arbitrary and more fun

I'm saddened the podcast is ending. You guys helped me have a new perspective on football, a game I have been fan of for many years. I hope you will reincarnate it in another form soon!

Thanks for everything guys. Genuinely don't think you realize how much we have all enjoyed this podcast over the years, I am honestly gutted that its ending. However you all deserve a massive thank you for all the laughs, my Tuesday morning routine will never be the same.
ps. Please bring it back in some way shape or form. At least give us the odd episode once in a while, if nothing else.

Either way i've been following the podcast for about a year now, it's quickly become one of my favorites and i love and apreciate the work that went into it and all the hosts.
I didn't come here for razor sharp analysis, I came for the levels of seriousness tifo applies to football. The athletic pods in comparison are just a big laugh and lack the requisite sombre and professional tone of this.

Feels pretty deliberate. I’d say you can expect it to continue until we no longer have despotic oil state owners or the podcast ends, whichever happens first.

Cant help but feel bad for the arsenal players. But it was always evident that it would be very hard with their depth to maintain the same intensity for 38 games with a team like city chasing you.
I hope that you guys know we will all miss you, seriously made me fall in love with the game again because while I was going to school I was getting sick of the punditry, the political climate of the game, etc. I know I don’t know any of you personally but you’ve been a huge part of my life and it makes me sad, and I hope you guys continue doing whatever you love and have awesome careers doing whatever is next
Really gonna miss the pod, has been part of my week for years now and the only football based pod I could watch, as it doesn't take itself too seriously and I love the charisma between all of the members. Really hoping it can come back in some shape or form!

Jon, JJ and Joe have such brilliant chemistry and never fail to win a smile or laugh from me. Thank you so so much for your long service to this podcast and to those who watch it. I really hope that the podcast comes back in some way or another.

Thank you for all the insight gained and all the smiles that I had when listening to your podcast. It had become part of my routine to listen to it on Tuesdays.
I hope that ending the podcast just means: "ending this fixed format of getting together to talk about football on this specific day in the week, making sure that we have enough bullet points, making sure that we cover all the bullet points, making sure that it is about one hour long and making sure that everyone is ready and has time etc". I hope that it does not mean that you do not produce videos in which you discuss football any more. I hope that on the contrary you produce more such topic-related discussions - e. g.: discussing Union Berlin's rise or discussing Brighton's success etc. It might be even liberating and better that way because then you could just talk as long as you want instead of having to stop some interesting discussions after 10 minutes because you had many other topics on your list.
I think my personal highlight so far was the way Jon and Seb talked about the fan-culture in Germany, taking the example of Freiburg and Union Berlin. I am from Germany but never knew what a gem this fan-culture was compared to others. Now I want to go see more games there :).

Came here from Spotify - I'd had this feeling for the longest while that our Lord Joe Bovine had had enough of suffering the other mortals and our insatiable thirst for football, especially when he took that long hiatus in between to satisfy his insatiable thirst for chaos. I'd honestly thought he'd got the sack along with Conte, Potter et al but this news is much more devastating.
This Podcast, which comes out Tuesday mornings here in India, is more than ritual - its almost become part of my personality. Going to miss this more I can say and more than I want to admit because Joe will make fun of me. Will savour the weeks to come - being one of the lads never felt more arbitrary and more fun
That's incredibly disappointing. I'm ending my Athletic sub this September out of protest. Nearly did it when they forced embedded ads, have a feeling the NYT have something to do with this.
