Most of the houses we do look similar to this one in northern Florida. We go hot with a 12 volt depending on algae factor and what we are cleaning. Property protection 100%.. over and above. We’ve been in the game 4 years. Great work Mike, ❤ you’re content.
I used to downstream houses but started using the x jet after my downstream injector had issues... i ended up preferring to use that more. Of course, having to carry an extra bucket around the house was a bit annoying but learning how to use that became easier after doing a few homes. I liked to also use it when wanting to treat concrete as it foamed up better and was able to apply it faster. Also, for a surfactant, i liked using elemonator. Myself and all my clients really enjoyed the lemon scent.
Hey Mike. I work solo and started downstreaming with homes with normal dirtiness. So much easier just pulling one hose. Only drawback is running to switch chem off to rinse.
Mike, great video! Whenever the growth is super heavy like this and I have to use the 12v, I alway pre wet the house, then apply the solution. This helps the chem bleed into all the spots with out having to make sure I dont have to go over every sqaure inch with the 12v. I know you didnt know exacly what % you were running but this method works perfectly. Keep up the good work! Calls have slowed up but hoping to work to the end of Dec. Im in Va.
Downstreamer here! When I switched to Elemonator, rinse time went down tremendously. A little goes a long way. One ounce per gallon of water and helps boost the pH of the bleach allowing for less dwell time. Windows are always clear with no residue and the customers are extremely happy that they don’t have to clean them. Went through a lot of different surfactants before finding this one and I won’t go back. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
I like the way you pumped up the sh but here in Cleveland I would’ve hit it a little hotter I understand your methods and reasoning just got done shooting 4.5 it’s super cold up here with rain your vids are legit and precise much grace and love
Long time follower....I downstream almost 80 percent of my jobs...here in Northern VA in cold and bad surfaces...I run a dual port injector and have both hooked up to chem and get a hotter mix downstreaming appx 2 percent max at gun... typically one port is on soap
I have been using the flowpro for the last 3 seasons. Beats running 2 lines for sure. I will spot treat with the 12v if needed, but rarely is it needed on siding.
Awesome video Mike! Still new to the game but down stream injector with the m5 twist is the only way to go for me 12v for roofs but it's alot of hassle and wasted sh for siding in my opinion and I'm clumsy enough where if I had to walk around with a 5 gallon pail of sh it would end up in someone's plants.
Mike, thank you for the great content I am a bit new to this washing space and i am a little confused by the various uses of the 12v systems, pressure washers and the down streaming. What is the 12v system for if not for softwashing? Thanks
Great. You answered a few questions as you finished the video. However, how do you downstream? I use and Xjet and a five gallon bucket A lot of moving parts
Hey Mike! What is the difference between down streaming and using surfactant? Also how do you manage to not damage the windows using SH? Great video! Thanks!
Good morning. Surfactant is soap. When I say I’m not using surfactant, I mean, I’m downstreaming using only SH… with no soap. SH will not harm windows. Thank you for watching!
Had the same thing happen to me a couple of times. Those check valves are a bit temperamental. You have to make sure you buy the right ones though. I think there are different weight check valves
@@TheFreshRinse This is the one you want: SMC 7400190. It has the hastelloy spring and they are more corrosion resistant. You do not want the SMC (6850090) 685 Series. The first one has the better internal spring. I ordered mine from Kleen-Rite
We 12v everything but have been wanting to switch over to a gas roof pump to speed everything up. Looking at the Honda wx10, trying to figure out if it'll work. Cleaning second story chimneys, even standing on a ladder, with the remco 5gpm pump doesn't reach. (Depends where the chimney is located)
Doing my first paid job Monday, washing a 3 rail vinyl fence. I am a vinyl fence dealer/ installer so I wanted to try pressure washing as another source of income. I quoted him 80 cent a ft for washing the fence and that's both sides. If anyone can tell me if that's too high or low i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks and love the videos
I had the same check valve problem last year and decided to put a second check valve inline and change it periodically, because I never ever want that problem again! It sucks (water)!
Elemonator is what I have used for the last decade, works great, the ph boosting of it works great on cold days like this. Now as for the rinsing of it, it works, great, just dial your metering system down a bit and have zero issues, the key is to not let the soap dry at all, and you do not need a ton of it, when I spray a house, I just use enough to barely see the soapy bubbles on the window, its enough, then my metering system is not even at 1 on the meter, maybe .5. Now as for 12v vs downstreaming, I have used both methods over the years. They each have their place. I have been using a 1" air pump for the past 5 years, love it more then the 12v, but the 12 v has its place, just as the downstream and gas pump systems, Each job is different and when I arrive I then choose which system or systems I will use to make the process as efficient as I can make it.
Obviously this must have extremely cold weather to have 12 volt washed. What was the temperature when you started work that day? And what is your cutoff temperature for downstreaming? For me it's 40 degrees. Though since this is my side hustle, I do my best to start later in the morning.
You may have missed it, but the reason I was using the 12 volt is because the SH was so greatly diluted. Otherwise I would downstream. I wash whenever the temperatures are above 32°. As long as the wind isn’t blowing hard.
I'm having an issue with my 12 volt surging,, it will work fine for a few.mins then tapper off to a drizzle then pressure up again. I didn't notice that happening in this video.. I checked all connections, and running 1/2 " .. any ideas ? Love the content btw cheers from Canada
That’s a great question. I don’t ever have to charge because I have my 12 V running to the same battery that my eight GPM machine is connected to. I wish I could be a better help.

That would have easily washed by downstreaming, if my solution had not been so diluted.
