This must be one og beaitiful mosque in China. It's so well preserved. I'm not surprised you love visiting these site, and so would anyone who enjoy historical sites. Thank you for another great tour. Those birds also enjoy the site.
Hey nick, great video once again! When I travel I'm most often interested in historical sites and interesting historical stories. I've learned so much from watching your videos (shout out to your summer palace video). What a breath of fresh air from the mindless masses of food travel vloggers, keep it up!
Ningxia looks like a place I will like to explore after I have relocated back to Asia in a few years. A nice combination of dusty vistas and history stirs my wandering soul. It's good to know there's a Nick endorsed watering hole in Yinchuan. Do you know of any opportunities to learn more about the geology and hydrology of this stretch of the Yellow River? The Yellow River must have played a large role for human civilization in this area.
Some interesting history in Ningxia. The Yellow River flows right through, just to the East if Yinchuan. Both the giver and taker of life in China's history
Your video is very good and much much better than BBC. I even can't leave a comment under BBC's video on China or Chinese. They delete any of my disconsent quite fast.
@@nickinchina2552 Yes, especially the "BBC Chinese" channel. Each time I criticize BBC for their biased negative report on China, the comment leave no longer than ten seconds. I did not use F words or British style 'bloody' or other words in this kind, but they just delete, and very fast!!
That mosque kinda reminds me of the Cheng Ho mosque in Palembang, South Sumatra. It's architectural element was a mixture of Malay, China and Indonesia. During the times of the Srivijaya empire kingdom in Indonesia it was said that Zheng He visited the city of Palembang four times during his voyage throughout Southeast Asia.
Nick, have you considered collaborating with other vloggers? I know most of them are food-themed or West-vs-East like you just said, but maybe there'd be a few that can click with yours? I'd be interested in seeing you take a doe-eyed newcomer to these hidden treasures. Otherwise they would only be visiting the big ticket tourist sites, on which there are 10,000 videos already.
There are a few mosques in China that have a history dating back to the Tang dynasty, but none of the actual buildings are that old... by a long way. This is one of the oldest actual buildings. There are others of a similar age though.
The video is good, but the number of views is not much, maybe you can try to find someone in bilibili to help you channel it, so that a large number of Chinese viewers will support you
just subscribed
Thanks and welcome!

Glad you enjoyed it Steve!
I think I was there about 9 years ago! Quite nice place!
Oh wow! it is a nice place, it probably hasn't changed that much
Thanks for taking us to these remote sites. Cheers from San Diego, CA.
You are welcome my friend!

Thanks so much! You know, most China vlogs are food or china vs. the west rubbish...hope mine are a little different 😄
The mixed architectural styles is so beautiful and fascinating! I'd be so scared of those birds lol
The birds are so wild! This really was a lovely place.
Your channel it's gold, thank you so much Nick!
Thanks! i hope it grows! seems a little static at the moment
Thank you for another wonderful video!
Thanks for the comments! It really means a lot to me!
I learnt something new
Great!
Beautiful. I wonder, those birds, do they build nests and lay eggs inside the wooden structure?
I looked, but couldn't see any signs of nests...but i'm sure they must be there!
@@nickinchina2552 It's cool to see the ancient buildings not only serve people, but also as an asylum to the birds👍, sorry for the worms though
The town is so quiet.
Beautiful!

Thank you for the wonderful and stunning videos! Greetings from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Subscribed :)
Welcome to the channel! KL is awesome!
Quanzhou city in Fujian Province also brought Islamic culture along the former Maritime Silk Road.
Thanks for showing this ancient and magnificent mosque.
It is well kept, but seems deserted.
Is it in use?
Still in use, but very quiet when i was there. I thought about sticking around til the next call to prayer but it was hours away 😂
Look like in the movie and drama😂 unbelievable
and i'm the random foreign dude in Chinese historical dramas 😂
@@nickinchina2552 Marco polo 😂👍🏼

Actually that would be fun to take a newcomer to see some off the beaten path stuff. 😎
beautiful🤍🤍🤍
100% agree. A special piece of history.
I thought the oldest mosque is China in Canton. It was built over a thousand years ago….i think:)

中国有一个唐代清真寺,在泉州,其他的都是后世重建的@@nickinchina2552
That means the edict given by the emperors that only Chinese style mosques be allowed to be built in the ancient times. They were smarter then.
Pity we cannot see the inside of the mosque. Maybe if you ask the imam, I am sure he will allow you to go inside.
There was actually no one around to ask when i was there. very quiet
@@nickinchina2552 Pity, I suspect it is as interesting as it is on the outside. A rare find. Thanks for sharing.
Why Chinese mosque look different than Middle eastern mosque?
because it's in China
Loudspeakers should be banned. It's crazy.
yes!
I think it is for the prayer?
the mosque is quite famous within ningxia
For sure. For Hui Muslims it is their most famous and important mosque

actually most of my videos are already on bilibili...stolen, without my consent.
