I'm from the USA. Sadly this video is true. In my city, a woman walking around by herself is dangerous, but if she does so at night, it's almost guaranteed that something bad will happen to her. We got too many homeless people, crazy people, drug addicts, and criminals running around. And if it weren't bad enough, a lot of these people have guns. My sister in law is from China, She said when she was in Chinese University, she and her girlfriends would all go out freely walking around their city, traveling by themselves, eating out, drinking late at night and they wouldn't be afraid of going anywhere or going home by themselves. After she came to the US she thought she could do the same things over here but she learned very quickly that America is much too dangerous. She said America is free on paper, but in reality if you're a woman, you're freedoms are greatly limited because the violence and crime is too high and severely limits your freedoms. A lot of people in China take their freedoms for granted, they think it's normal and every country in the world is like them, this is just not true. Conversely, a lot of Americans are just used to the fact that their cities are flat out dangerous and never really think about what freedoms they don't have because poverty, violence, and crime are soo high.
yes, i'm chinese. We think ever country in the world the safety is like we are. Our country is indeed not as free as other countries. We are not allowed to have guns or controlled knives. Carrying drugs in China is punishable by death, but no Chinese feels that he or she is not free, because our security is obtained by giving up part of our freedom. I believe that only when you are alive can you be qualified to talk about freedom and democracy.RIGHT?
I'm Chinese. What in my brain is America is safer than China. Even when I saw the American houses installed gates with glass. Compared with Chinese house, all gates installed with plenty layers of metal. We thought glass gates are easy to break in. Although it rarely happens.
Lizzy, thank you so much for your kind words of China, they bring tears to my eyes, I was born in Portuguese's territory (Macau) inside China, finally all Chinese can stand up and say that we are no longer *The Sick Man of Asia and the Century of Humiliation is over, China is way better than others in world standing ! ❤
@@terodianl5150 for me, villages or little towns are always safer than cities across the world. If cities are safe, let alone villages. That's pretty sure!
If you bring 3000 dollars to China, you can play for a long time. You can have a meal for 2 dollars, buy a bottle of cola for 0.3 dollars, and stay in a hotel for 10 dollars. You are welcome to come to China anytime
Last time I went to China, we stayed at a hotel where you need to go through a completely dark alley to get to the subway station, or you would need to go the long way around. The first night we came back from sightseeing, it was late, and we were exhausted. Outside of the exit of the subway, we just silently stared at the entrance of that dark alley, deciding whether we should risk it. Just when we were about to turn around to take the "safe" route, a young local lady came out of the dark alley and walked straight into the subway station. My friend and I just looked at each other for a few beats and then shrugged. Needless to say, we took the shortcut that night and all the nights after that. That's the moment I started to notice how safe China currently is. Similar scenarios kept playing again and again in front of us during our trip, people were just unconcerned about walking through dark alleys or taking a stroll in a dimly lit park alone. It's a truly surreal experience.
Thank you so much for you sharing your lovely video about how safety in China 👍. Absolutely she's right about and true. Also i love she said this ( China freedom from violence. America freedom for violence. ) That's why the big different between China & America their freedom all about 🫶❤️🫰

I went to uk for 4month,also blowing my mind I’m scared to go out in the night(first time saw drug people on the street in my whole life)as where i from Chongqing China a night city at 4am still traffic on the street, you can go to a bar or buy food anytime, that is big difference, the food and transportation so expensive and not convenient too
There was one time when I was passing through LA going to Toronto. Ended up staying in LA for a night due to a cancelled flight. I was compensated by the airline with free accommodation and dinner. It was about 3 pm when I arrived at the hotel which is about 15 minutes walk to a famous beach ( I cant remember which one now). I was about to make the trip to the beach when my instinct was telling me to ask the doorman if it is safe to walk there. These were his words...I wouldnt do that if I were you. Now, compare that to what Lizzy is doing in this video. BTW, I have lived in Shenzhen for about 7 years and I know what I am saying.

I am Chinese, and I have never felt that surveillance cameras in public places would invade my privacy. On the contrary, they provide me with a greater sense of security, serving as a deterrent to criminals. If you commit a crime in China, such as theft or robbery, believe me, it's very difficult to escape or evade all the surveillance cameras.
Safety or Chinese well being ain't western govts or western msm are concerned about in China. China Rise and smearing/misleading the global general opinions are the main objectives. Some scholars even mentioned of US's USD500m are allocated for such purposes. You can spot them easily in the regional news networks, newspapers and associates, especially the Anglo Saxon based!
I have been traveling to China since 1993, and what you say is absolutely correct. The Freedom to be safe is so much more important than the freedom to bear arms. Safety freedom means night life, street food, doing whatever you want without worry. Great video
OMG, you must have seen how China changed these years, back in 1993 around, China was a BIG village everywhere, and there were crimes everywhere, till 2006-2008. Then China is like spent 20 years and built a whole new level of what a country is. Even as a Chinese myself, it's breath holding when comparing the old days to nowadays, and everything changed in 20 years.
Thanks for making this video! I’m a Chinese who lives in UK now. I absolutely agree with you that China is really really safe compared to MOST of western countries, especially as a woman walking alone at night. Lots of available facilities at midnight (metro, bus, and especially taxi available 24/7 in cities). It’s impossible to say that China is 100% free from violence(there’re always terrible ppl everywhere) but most of ppl in China want NO TROUBLE but peaceful life. Safety is something I have to be very careful when I was in EU or US alone.
Glad to learn that your mum is moving to China with you. China will be amazing for her, the Chinese youngsters are taught to respect their elders. She will feel special there without knowing why! When is your mum returning to China, look forward to you exploring China with her.
First of all, because China follows Confucius' Confucian culture. Confucianism advocates filial piety. Secondly, Chinese people pay attention to gratitude.
Thanks for sharing with us about your experience. As a Chinese, I wanna say we love foreigners and it is a safe place fo sure. My hometown shopping mall won't close until 10pm. If you don't look Asian, people might get curious and stare at you. Of course, I know this may be offensive or uncomfortable for some of you, but believe me, people are just curious and don't mean any harm. There will be no behavior that bothers you except stares. In fact, what is interesting is that if Chinese parents meet foreigners, they will encourage their children to talk to you in order to practice their English. Because Chinese tend to assume that everyone is from an English-speaking country. But please believe that we are warm, friendly, and kind. I hope this message can help people who want to travel to China. Compared to Western countries, things are cheap and everywhere is safe. Welcome to China!!
You're absolutely right, Lizzy! China 🇨🇳 is one of the safest countries on this planet. Thank you so much for sharing your personal experience living in This wonderful country and I felt I were walking with you on that beautiful street virtually!

There are many places to visit in China, not limited to big cities such as Shanghai and Beijing, and the Chinese people will always welcome the lovely people from all over the world
Although China is considered to be a safer country, a woman ought to protect oneself. You can't assume no crime occurs in China. Do not walk alone in remote area at night.
Hello I just found your channel thanks God I am planning to go to China with the shoulin temple in NY and I was scared how ever now I am more confident in going there thank you for your inputs love your channel

Just came across your channel today. As a Beijing native who's lived in the US for a decade and recently been back home, I couldn't agree more! Growing up I never remembered worrying about safety anywhere anytime. Lots of food vendors don't even come out till past 9pm. Lol. Now that I've been living in the US and just went home for a little bit, the feeling came right back. I was walking back to my hotel way past midnight and safety wasn't nearly a concern. It was bright out, people driving, bicycling, walking on the street still. Thank you!! For posting information like this and spreading the truth!!
Why US isn't safe? Here is the answer.... American people: Ban guns? US Congress: NO American people: Call for a ceasefire and end the genocide in Palestine? US Congress: NO American people: Ban TikTok? US Congress: YES... YES...
Yes if you think about it a country which is unsafe allows the weapons manufacturers to make more money by selling more guns, a payback to the lobbyists for their support 😊
Ban Tiktok doesn't bother weapons manufacturers. And who gives a shit about those younger generation? But ban guns and stop war? You are going to hurt the benefits of those big man.
It’s true, cuz most of my friends and I prefer take a walk after getting dark. We don’t even think if there is any danger around us. All we want is chatting and helping our body digest the supper.
Yes. A Sense of Security is the foundation for freedom, especially for children, women and seniors. I took it for granted when I grew up in China. I only realized how precious it is after I went to the graduate school in the U.S. and lived there for a few years. Safety is truly a priceless blessing.❤
In the US, it was not safe more than 30 years ago when I was a Ph. D. student in a southern state. I just knew that I could not go anywhere I desired with a safety guarantee. Nowadays, things are getting worse because during the time of my living there, mass shootings were almost absent.
@@cashmerecat9269 30 years you can avoid bad areas. And you are relatively safe. Mass shooting happened like 101 California shooting but relatively rare. But nowadays, the crimes come to you regardless where you are. Nowadays I read they follow you home and rob you if you see you are driving an expensive car.
@@ytchuah4358 Everywhere in China, it is full of CCTVs and there is a so called social score system that well controls people 's behavior in public. Many western people including those in the rest of the world never like this. China is very peaceful to live a good life. Unfortunately, it turns out to be envied by a lot of critics.
I am a woman who grew up in Beijing, China and lived in the US for six years, and I 100% agree with this video. Before coming to the US I wasn't even aware of how safe China is. For a night out, the only reason I had to worry about time is that I couldn't catch the last metro (usually around 11:30pm) so that I had to take a taxi - less affordable, but never that I'm going to be unsafe. I really enjoyed wondering around alone on streets at night because it's quiet and dark. But I couldn't do this in the US even in the safest neighborhoods, because the thoughts of the potential dangers just come to me and make me feel uncomfortable, not to mention for areas like downtown where even walking in group and/or with men could be unsafe. And it's interesting because before watching your video I never realized that there are many police on the streets of China, because I never needed one. Living in Chicago right now and the police is also everywhere, and I'd intentionally look for them to choose the roads close to a police car. But there was one time where my friend got robbed right in front of a bunch of police cars, the funniest thing is they didn't catch the robber, and suggested my friend to report thief instead of robbery so it's easier to close case - really made me not trust the police as much as I did before. That being said, still love many other aspects of the US, but in terms of safety China is definitely way better.
I think it's dangerous to go out at night in China, even late at night, because there's always a lot of good food on the streets, and you have to eat a little bit. It's a bit dangerous for your purse, especially when it's close to 12 when you want to eat.😋
Thanks for your introduction and objective description for China. Chinese people are friendly and China is the most safe country in the world. Really Proud of my mother country❤
It's regrettable that many Chinese individuals overlook China's safety, are led to believe developed countries to be superior in all aspects. This misconception has led to tragic incidents, especially among female students studying abroad. Such incidents have occurred in various developed countries, including the US, Germany, and elsewhere.
Germany is also quite safe, but not as safe as China. In Berlin I can also go out in the night without worrying about safety. But as Foreigner it is better to avoid certain people and area.

I am 40 this year, and China is not always so safe. When I was a child, I often encountered thieves at markets and train stations, and there were occasional robberies on long-distance buses,a classmate's entire family was even murdered (the killer was trying to plunder wealth). The public security situation has improved because we have done some things right: 1. Developing the economy to help the lower class people get out of poverty and have legitimate jobs to make a living. 2. Dense surveillance camera networks to deter crime and make police cases more efficient. 3. Mobile payments have no cash to steal, and accounts are all real name traceable. 4. Zero tolerance for drugs. 5. Valuing education, the longer a person is educated, the more they can restrain their instincts, violent impulses, and have a sense of responsibility. Learning also makes it easier for people to find jobs. 6. Continuously fighting corruption and making society more fair 7...

Conversely, a lot of Americans are just used to the fact that their cities are flat out dangerous and never really think about what freedoms they don't have because poverty, violence, and crime are soo high.

We are not allowed to have guns or controlled knives. Thank you for your sharing. God Bless!

What if someone told you they would rather preferred democracy over safety ?
I have been traveling to China since 1993, and what you say is absolutely correct. The Freedom to be safe is so much more important than the freedom to bear arms. Safety freedom means night life, street food, doing whatever you want without worry. Great video
OMG, you must have seen how China changed these years, back in 1993 around, China was a BIG village everywhere, and there were crimes everywhere, till 2006-2008. Then China is like spent 20 years and built a whole new level of what a country is. Even as a Chinese myself, it's breath holding when comparing the old days to nowadays, and everything changed in 20 years.

Thanks for sharing with us about your experience. As a Chinese, I wanna say we love foreigners and it is a safe place fo sure. My hometown shopping mall won't close until 10pm.

We are so tired of western propaganda but there's nothing we can do about it but to make our reality better because that's how the Chinese do things. Good job for our government on encouraging more tourists to come. Btw recent days we've been working hard to improve experience of touchless paying/money exchange for foreign tourists. Hope all of these would work to let everyone get to see what real life is here.
❤
Exactly! Recently I visited home for two months and I enjoyed the peace in mind I have not felt for a while in Canada. Although it's crowded, it's very unlikely to be attacked by zombies on the street.
I am a Chinese and it is around 3am Beijing time. My mother and friends finished playing mahjong and went out to have a late night snack, leaving me at home.😢
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂
Thank you for telling the truth about my motherland ❤
Thank you for your liking of China,Welcome to China, I hope you will always be happy in China
Another real video with real content , not some China hating video from people who have left but are still there being tortured by their failures !
Very safe 👏
Very true as we have been staying in China with my son
Frankly speaking this is actually the world should be. People should have the freedom to walk any time they want .
I am 40 this year, and China is not always so safe. When I was a child, I often encountered thieves at markets and train stations, and there were occasional robberies on long-distance buses,a classmate's entire family was even murdered (the killer was trying to plunder wealth). The public security situation has improved because we have done some things right:
6. Continuously fighting corruption and making society more fair

Confirmed. It used to be unsafe at night in China, too.
Current state is reflecting the actual economy of that environment.
@yueliu4111 😮 are you applauding for CCP? I came from China. I can tell you there are evil.

Hi ..Lizzy .. Sup ? I like your Videos .
I’m from Australia, I lived in Korea, America and Malaysia. China is by far the safest country.
BBC: What is the cost? There are cameras everywhere in China, and there are no places to do bad things
Thank you for your very informative video. Very nice!
So nice of you! Thank you!
Great girl! ! ! A person who is fair and dares to tell the truth
Great insight
cashless society made this safety, plus economy growing, no one want to do bad things if his life is ok.
Mainly the role of culture
Very interesting and reashuring dear Lizzy and many people apreciate your videos. Thank you for what you are doing, amazing, bless you and Chinese people, simply the best🙂👏❤.
China is really really very very safe, hhhahah. Even u can meet many people at 2a.m or3a.m in the street in some cities, such as Changsha, etc. I love your video ❤❤
Agreed! I visited beautiful China in 2017, 2020 & 2023 for over 20 days each visit from Beijing to Guilin with no issues. Be respectful to everyone, following directions from authorities the first time and following the local laws enabled for 3 great visits and I hope for more. Highly recommended!
Welcome to visit Chengdu, it is a beautiful city, I will treat you well.
@@weiping-es9qv Thank you for your kindness. I truly enjoyed Chengdu & hope to visit it again soon. The problem I have throughout beautiful China is that no matter how much I plan, I seem to miss some sites & activities. The beauty, fun, people, culture, history & technology captivating to me. I cannot seem to get enough even when I am there, I am in awe & gratitude. What got me interested in China was Bruce Lee & Kung Fu. Watch the movies I noticed the culture, architecture & background scenery together created my love & it only grew once experiencing it in person. Thank you for your welcome & sharing your country with the world.
@@detrickguillory7537 Yes, China has many ancient buildings that are more than thousands of years old. Chinese kung Fu is also very good. Many of our Chinese college students take Tai Chi as their elective.
My wife practices Tai Chi. It is a great system for peace & health.
The Chinese people are minding their own business and enjoying life and freedom in a crime free environment. So how can the US say China is a threat ? They are the most peaceful people I know n hardworking. I hope more ppl spread this positivity
it's lovely to see such a positive impression of my hometown, but still please stay careful at night, no place is perfect
Well said.❤
I'm glad you came to China and felt the kindness. This uncle is indeed very hospitable and a very kind person. But please be more careful, because there are both good and bad people. Don't let bad people or unscrupulous merchants leave a bad impression on you.
I am a Chinese born in 2000, from my birth to the first few years of my primary school, China was not as safe as it is now, and our police and government have made great efforts to achieve the current results. But even in the past, security seemed better than in some countries
As a common person i don't care about the cameras, but I care if the police can find the criminals when i was theft or robbed
Great video Lizzy. Keep the great content and commentary coming.
Thank you so much! 😊 will keep the good ones coming 😉
I never stop walking when I’m in China. There’re plenty of things to see and eat (which is most dangerous) 😂😂😂
Yeah getting fat is THE DANGER 😂😂😂😂😂
Many people getting fat same, and this is the biggest DENGER for health 😂
@@Airy.Xu-xcm1982 When you eat lately, the 30 mins dining time is like paradise. And after that, the guilty can make you feel like burning in hell.
Thank you for telling the world about China's security environment.
Love watching your video clips!
Saw the license plates. Welcome to Yunnan! I'm glad you feel safe there and is having a good time. Great video!!
Yes! Thank you!
