    Hello. My car is at 330k km atm, original dpf on it still. 3.0l diesel, om642 engine code. Its been driven normally, but being a diesel I bought it for mostly intra-city driving, so I press the pedal when given the chance. I think the issue with people and their dpf problem is getting a high power diesel engine, then they drive for saving fuel and everything doesn't get up to optimal temperature. That's very bad for a diesel, especially for one over 1.6l. The fuel consumption is low anyway, just press the pedal and let the engine breathe. If not, buy a 1.0-2.0 petrol engine, diesel is not for your use.

      Exactly this is what I've been telling people all around, if you want to buy a diesel car and drive it like a 80 yrs old man then just don't buy it go for naturally aspirated petrol engine and drive it very slow it'll give you same mileage figures with no worries of dpf issues

      First of all extremely sorry for super late reply after 5 months, when your car is very new Diesel BS6 or 6.2 then for 1st 1000 kms fo easy on your car be it Diesel car or Petrol car, after that once you cross 1000 kms if you are using a Diesel car which has dpf filter then drive it bit hard like shown in the video to avoid clogging of dpf filter, if you have an expensive diesel car then it'll have a dpf clearing button / feature then no need to manually drive it hard to keep it to optimum temperature

      As far as my knowledge if you rev hard car parked in a place 1st thing it will take lot of time to heat up (literally 25-30 mins noise pollution hoga voh alag hi problem) the actual dpf exhaust area as car is resting it has no stress on it so I don't think so that will help you sir

      As far as I know all modern cars are tested a lot during production so it's absolutely fine to redline your car once in a day, as your car is new don't actually redline it very harshly but just bring it close to redline don't hit the redline or rev limiter mark as engine still needs good 2.5k-3k kms to set in properly

      Bro I don't understand who put all stupid rumours in people's head that Altroz or any of BS6 diesel cars have dpf issues, its absolutely bullshit if you don't drive it properly then the dpf filter gets clogged and then its called as dpf issue, its not an issue in the 1st place or like from manufacturing itself, Baleno and Altroz cannot be compared, Baleno is an absolute tin can, no safety, no ride and handling that can match Altroz, no steering feed back and comparing Altroz Diesel and Baleno Petrol is even more irrational bcz both engines itself are different, I'll suggest if you want your car to be very silent and you are ok with an unsafe car then go with Baleno but if you can withstand heavy bassy sound diesel engine which has a proper punch in every gear then go for Altroz Diesel and don't need to worry about dpf issue

    Hi, This is very helpful video. I have few queries.
    Are you still able to avoid the dpf issue using same technique of daily red lining?
    As you mentioned, are you planning to do a new video on the dpf?

      Yes absolutely when I did this video it was long time ago now my car has touched 11k kms and still I didn't face dpf issues even for a single time and I stay in Mumbai and you know how Mumbai traffic is still I never got dpf issues

    • @daninwheels1006

      The reason is because when traffic frees up a bit I redline not fully but almost redline my car in 1st and 2nd gear and once or twice redline in a day is enough to keep you away from dpf issue even when you drive your diesel BS6 car in bumper to bumper traffic

    • @Raakeshcc

    10 to 15 thousand for DPF cleaning? Is that really the case? Regardless of any car, I believe there is an option to 'Park and Regenerate', meaning, park the vehicle and follow the steps to clean up the clogged filter. It takes approximately 30 minutes time to complete the process, based on information I gathered through other videos. So, 15k for this task which can be done without visiting service centre ?

    • @daninwheels1006
      @daninwheels1006  2 роки тому +1

      Let me tell you not aware about other cars but smaller less expensive cars like Altroz do not have any option or mechanism of 'park and regenerate' you need to thrash drive the car to bring it to optimum heating point to clear dpf or else take it to Service Center to clear it, what I mentioned here is if at all the filter gets damaged not just clogged if it gets damaged then changing it will cost you 15-20k
