- In our latest video, Bunny Punia takes the Tata Altroz diesel for a fuel economy run on open roads. The car was driven for 230km at a speed of 90 km/h. There were 2 people on board and the A/C was running at all times. A few days back, we conducted a city based economy run wherein the car delivered 24 kmpl.
Do remember, this one comes with a certified mileage of 25.1 kmpl as per ARAI. The engine generates 90PS of power and 200Nm of torque and is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

I have booked altroz turbo petrol, but I am thinking to cancel it because of the kind of lock system altroz having. It is very bad move from Tata for a prestigious model. Many of my known people also said they rejected altroz despite being a reliable product just for the reason of central locking system
Altroz diesel is 100 times better than petrol...4 cylinder engine...power bhi jyada hai...mileage bhi jyada hai...performance bhi badiya hai..

He is absolutely right… I did the similar drive with Nexon AMT in ECO mode with 90KMPH it gave 30KMPL in the highway and averaged out in city with 27.5KMPL .. Because in ECO mode actual power of the engine will be reduced to 65bhp … where your engine response will be in very relaxed. Hence you need to plan your overtake accordingly… If you are ok to drive with that you will achieve the claimed figure

Normally, I noticed many videos about complaining about issues with altroz (like AC , headlight , noise, etc...), do you have some input?

They have fear that it will eat nexons market. Tata thinks they are only in the market. May be who ever advicing Tata on engine and gear box are might be big enemies of tata
@@Prasannakumar-rf8cj or they might be thinking to reduce complexity and cost by giving a 5 speed gearbox as generally people do occasional highways and more city rides. But I still think Altroz being premium hatchback should have a 6speed transmission. The i20 was doing a mere 1600rpm @ 90kph and it returned 31.65kmpl in the fuel economy run by this channel. Had the Altroz been equipped with 6 gears I'm sure it'd have also returned 30+ mileage. (I'm still a fan of Tata motors though)

6th gear would have done womders for this car but tata i guess have problems with syncing the gearbox to get maximum torque out of this 1.5 litre engine .At 1.5 litres the car shoudl have had 100+ bhp with 220nm+ torque with a 6 gear gearbox .

6th gear would do wonders to this car. I see that the engine was doing 2200rpm at 90 kmph, which is little higher.

light foot means push thotlle slowly. i.e increase speed gradually.
Should not push it directly to 5-6000 rpm as some would do.

Engine is not powerful some said that it legs and dnt climb hilly areas what to do should we buy or not i dnt want to regret it later.
Never pull the car in eco mode in hilly area as car is under powered.switch to city mode to extract Max power from engine .
