That’s why I did this video. Now everyone wants to show the grapples and easy way to do things, sometimes it is nice to see old way. Plus I kinda enjoy it still too! Thanks for watching!
Well there’s always a reason to upgrade but I wanted to show there’s another more affordable way. I wasn’t sure on the intro thought I’d try it and see. Thanks so much!
Great video. I have the same setup on my MF 230. Works great. If you ever take the notion to part with the 245, I have no problem driving up from western NC. I look forward to every video. Keep up the good work!!
My grandpa always used log prongs like that when he cut his firewood logs. That looks like locus wood, that stuff is hard as a rock when it dries. I wish i had a tractor that size for the lighter things to do around here. Keep up the work my friend.
Ben, had the basic setup on a Ford 3000, my boom was about 1/2 the length of yours, Also had a homemade 3 point splitter for it, biggest difference is that we only had one tractor 😂Take Care and Stay Warm 🚜🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
I too like the new intro. What a great and simple effective setup that is. Thanks for another video to enjoy over my first and second cup of coffee. 👍 Say Ben, what is the chain pitch on your most used chainsaw?
The chain pitch is .325. I thought I’d try that intro and see what people thought. Those log tongs require a little more effort but it works. Thanks for watching!
I like the process Ben. You have a lot of challenges living on the side of a mountain, but always manage to get the job done. have a great day - cheers
Well other than seeing those things in horror movies they looked super useful! You are very self sufficient that is for sure, Ben. Like the new intro too!
Great looking new intro mon ami 👌👍🧐 Chainsaw sharpening ( Can't wait to resume that activity,,,, ) OUSTANDING demo of your rear log lifter Sir 👍👌 My oncle has the same rear log hook and he put it on his front FEL on his Old Oliver Row Crop 66 ( my grand father tractor ) I love your wood splitter Sir 👌👍💪 Have a blessed Sunday Cheers 🍻
Log tongs are a very cost effective way of handling logs if you have no other way. We got by doing lots of logging that way. Now that I have all the fancy stuff the logging has slowed down 😢! Appreciate you watching!
Yes it’s very nice to have multiple tractors. It’s took lots of work, determination, help from others, and good fortune to achieve. But I never take it for granted. Thanks for watching!
This was filmed a little over a week ago. We had snow off and on all last week, been really cold. I watched some of your new splitter the other day, that’s nice! Appreciate you watching!
Hey Ben, We had a boom pole on the farm, I don't know where it ever went, I wish I did. We also had a 3 point hitch loader with a trip bucket. We loaded a lot of manure with that loader. lol, It looked a little chilly there? That splitter works well on that tractor. Take care
A boom pole is very handy to have for lots of jobs. I’ve seen videos of those loaders but never one in person. It was cold and flurrying that day. The splitter has been great! Thanks for watching!
You don’t need fancy new tools, just ones that get the job done!!! Great job!
I’ve got the fancy stuff too but it’s good to show those things aren’t required to make it happen! Appreciate you watching!
That set up worked very well,Ben.Loved the new intro.Have a blessed day and stay Safe and warm.Waiting on next video.🚜👏👍❤️🙏
It requires more on and off the tractor or a helper but when I didn’t have anything else it got the job done! Appreciate you watching and take care!
Once again Ben making the task at hand look easy!
I just enjoy trying things the old way again. It had been awhile since using the tongs. Appreciate you buddy!
We did the same thing when all we had was a Ford 3000. I love to see people do things that we used to have to do.
That’s why I did this video. Now everyone wants to show the grapples and easy way to do things, sometimes it is nice to see old way. Plus I kinda enjoy it still too! Thanks for watching!
Great intro! Sometimes the simple tools work so well there's no reason to upgrade. Great video, sir!

@@khtractors Good action, really shows what you do on your channel.
@@FabbedFun thats what I thought, I wanted to highlight a little of everything we do. Thank you!
Now that's a good idea. I'm glad that this video popped up. When I am able to get a tractor and it's one like this one I'll have to remember it.
I’ve used this a lot! Thanks for watching!
You're welcome

Yes it was locust and dried out! The 245 is a great utility tractor. Appreciate you watching!
That’s a pretty neat idea how you left the logs would you three-point hitch I like that great job 👍
It works really well. I’ve used that method a lot for logs. Thanks for watching!

Larry your the reason for this video. Seeing you use your tongs made me dig these out again. I’ve not used them in years. Appreciate you watching!

Cool, a little firewood, that looks like Lucas that will make really hot fire
Yes the locust is hard to beat for heat, I just don’t like the smell of its smoke. Thanks for watching!
boom poles are handy and useful . I thought when I bought a loader tractor i wouldn’t need my boom pole. I was wrong I still use it a lot.
Same here, I still find jobs the boom pole works better. Thanks so much for watching!
@@khtractors For sure I put a 1 ton chain hoist on mine got it at harbor freight for $65. Makes the boom pole even more useful. Have a good one!
We used a set of log tongs last week that belonged to my grandfather they pulled those pine logs up the hillside where that grapple wouldn't go!
That’s awesome! They are worth keeping around! Thanks for watching!
Well other than seeing those things in horror movies they looked super useful! You are very self sufficient that is for sure, Ben. Like the new intro too!
I really appreciate the comment Kyle! Thanks for watching and take care!

Great video Ben. Hope you're doing good. Haven't watched any of your vids in a while. Surprised you don't have any snow on the ground. Take care!

That’s a nice looking tractor y’all got
It’s special to me. This was a tractor my great uncle bought new, I spent hours riding with him as a kid on it. Thanks for watching!
