    I have to say, these Mitre10 videos are properly one of the most best home reno videos out there.

    I've thought about doing this in the past but didn't realise it was that straight forward! This seemed like a very 'easy' situation but the fundamentals of it are really simple.

      Same. I find that, Mitre10 explains in a simple step-by steps, and tells you exactly what materials to buy. He also, explains why he does things a certain. It has certainly made me consider going to Mitre10 now, instead of Bunnings.

    very nice job sir may i know which oil you use and why thanks

    • @davidjohnston1971
      @davidjohnston1971 8 років тому +2

      To oil your forms so they release easier, you can use old motor oil. Building supplies, not you local home improvement center, carry form oil that serves the same purpose. Add oil to a garden sprayer and spray your forms. You don't need a lot, just enough to coat the surface. Oil and water don't mix. This will keep your forms from sucking water out of your concrete and the concrete from bonding to your forms. Tap, tap, wiggle, wiggle, carefully remove. It can help to run a long screw part way into the top of the form board to aid in wiggling and removing.

    Is the re-bar REALLY necessary? couldn't you just add 1inch thickness to the concrete?

    • @VAX1970

      It's mesh not re-bar, it's essential to stop cracking over time

    Instead of rugasol you can also use coke cola!!! Sugar slows the cement from going off and coke contains a lot of sugar. Believe me when I say it does the same job but at a cheaper price plus side if you have any left over you can drink it.

    • @jadewilliams3037
      @jadewilliams3037 6 років тому

      Yeah you can use sugar or fizzy drink problem is it can run causing ripples through your exposed finish that's why rugorsol is recommended its thicker and does a more even finish you also have 24/36 hours for wash off fizzy & sugar recommend you wash off same day that's how the pro's do. it.!!

    im sorry but that is a load of over engineered, bollocks, that would make too much mess and take too long to construct, also there are so many paving options out there that this makes no financial sense.... sorry.
