Is your computer unstable? There may be a problem with its RAM. To check, you can either use a hidden system tool included with Windows or download and boot a more advanced tool.
On Windows 11, if applications keep crashing or they're running very slowly, or you're experiencing weird things, such as random reboots, freezes, or sudden Blue Screens of Death (BSOD), it could be difficult to pinpoint the root of the problem because it could be a software or hardware-related issue.
However, usually, the memory is the first thing you want to check. This is because if it's a problem with one of the modules, you'll need to take care of the issue quickly, as it cannot only cause your computer to misbehave, but a bad memory module can also corrupt files, which is not a good thing.
While there are a number of tools you can download off the internet, Windows 11 includes its own Windows Memory Diagnostic tool to check if your computer has memory problems.

i ran the test, it ended successfully showing no error detected on the blue screen but there is no entry shown in the event viewer for that test run. it simply says that there is no such entry for it
This would be great, but I seem to have a small issue with this. What do I need to do when I get "Running test pass _ of _: _% complete" and no progress bar on the screen and stays that way?

Hw many gb ram of u use? And hw mny pcs of ram. I have 8gbx2 ram. Its to slow to complete test 🤔
The more RAM you have, the more the test will take, of course. But that's the way it's meant to be, to be a thorough examination of the RAM.
When I try this it doesn't show any percentage and then closes after about 15 minutes and my laptop turns off. I don't think it even checked the memory.

What if I get no log in the event viewer? During the test, it found no issues though. But not getting a log is strange..

What if I find warning what should I do?
Change your RAM module. If you have two, test them separately to be sure which one it is.
which is better memtest86 or windows mem diagnostic? or maybe is the same thing?

This broke my computer after using it. It allows me to log in but once I do it's a black screen and can only see my cursor and the occasional norton anti virus pop up.

That's very strange, this test is completely harmless. Maybe there's a hardware problem in the RAM or hard disk. Could you solve it?

- Try to blow the dust in the slot memory,
- change back your memory clock if you overclock it,
- try to change the slot, maybe the slot itself is broken
- if all above not working, change your RAM
