A long time ago, a girlfriend of mine gifted me a Petrucciani CD. I listened to this music and loved it for years before I found out who Petrucciani is. I cried so hard, when I learned about the person behind these fabulous performances.

Mr. Petrucciani. You’re an inspiration to me as a musician who has a disability. Thank you for refusing to let your light be snuffed out by physical challenges.

Disability is relative. In music, only performance counts. Except perfection, I can't see any flaws in Maestro Petrucciani performance.

I've returned here a hundred times through the years. Fantastique. Encroyable!
Just came from reading local media and a polemic about the annoying fact that nowadays the audience gradually gets up with a standing ovation at concerts after almost every piece.
If one had to single out a performance that calls for a standing ovation, this is the one.
Thank you for being among us.

It's really a pity that I never saw Petrucciani play live. When I got to know him he already was dead again. I visited his grave on the cimetière Père-Lachaise in Paris which is next to Frédéric Chopin's one. What an honour! Two piano gods side by side.

Some people will tell you just practice... but I think we all know its not exactly true. I played a fair bit of guitar too, and I think the more one tries to improvise this well the more one finds out it takes much more than just practice to achieve this level of expression. Practice alone wont teach you the feel and freedom of playing perfect music that transcends different genres and styles seemingly at will. It takes genius.

I can’t imagine the physical discomfort this man must have endured to learn his craft…

Oh that's so beautiful, exquisite piano touch, the great and so missed, Michel Petruciani. I enjoy listening to that big audience applaud as they recognize the transition from Besame Mucho into Looking Up. Michel played big concert venues, as he so belonged there. What an amazing musician! I know we all miss this artist. Thank you for your music Michel Petruciani.
