Found your page awhile ago. Definitely a great page with good information. Love that you have links to the products you use. Its helped me do some easy mods i never would have thought about
One ground is the factory ground for the battery. The other one is the one I added. There’s also a ground to the back of the engine firewall on the passenger side
why do you need a relay for all of the accessories/? please explain why you did that. I am a novice. are your accessories always drawing on the battery, even when your key is off?? thanks!
Really cool wiring setup! Question about the negative mil spec terminal: do you know the gauge of the factory wiring? because to install the new terminals I'm guessing you'd need to put on a new ring, and the kit comes with 2 gauge rings...
@@PhoRunner ight man I will and sadly the 99 is sold and I wanted to ride that till the wheels fall off or something along those lines haha. But tomorrow morning I'm gonna look at the 02 but I'll watch the video before hand
Good job on that electrical work. On a different subject matter, can you advise on what mounting scheme did you use for your ARB awning? Is that mounted on the ROLA roof rack/basket?
Are cheap fuse blocks on Amazon not worth it? I see reviews where some have melted or there’s current even without a fuse inserted. Is the one you’re using professional grade ?
Hello I have been wanting a 4Runner for years and have recently acquired a 99’. Everything seemed to be running well until the other day when I was out on the open road doing about 62 mph running the A/C (it was about 95 degrees). When I lost complete electrical power. A/C shut off radio shut off radio antennae goes down no lights and all dash gauges shut down. The engine continued to run and I pulled over with no issues. I turned off the A/C and magically everything started to work. This situation has happened 3 times now. And every time the engine never shuts off just complete electrical failure. I know the problem is electrical and has to do with the A/C but I was wondering if you have had this happen before? And possibly what the cause is? Thank you in advance
I’ve never had that happen to me. That is very strange indeed. Perhaps check the relays to see if there’s one that controls all those components. You can verify by pulling it and seeing if they turn off the same components. Good luck!
Your system is done but others could use a trailer wire to bring the relay switch wires into the passenger compartment. It's all contained and color coded. It's easier to get through the grommets on the firewall as well. Just sayin'.

Thanks for supporting the channel by buying those products! Glad the info is useful too!!
Good video. Well-nuts do the same thing. And offer rubber insulation.
Nice
Sounds perfect for boat applications!
Hey man been a fan ive watch your video all the time i remember u show how to do a constant on the cigarettes lighter
Yea!! One of my first vids. Thanks for support bud and hope you enjoy the other vids
Nice and clean set up Buddy! Keep uploading stuff. Thanks
Thanks for watching
Thank you for the video, Great timing as I have all the same parts and needed the confidence to do it. Subbed
Nice!!
how did you calculate the size circuit breaker to use? i plan on usually nothing more that a 6 way fuse block.
try here: www.engineeringtoolbox.com/amps-wire-gauge-d_730.html
What types (rely name) rely you used?
Just whatever 5 pack I found on amazon lol. Most of those came in wiring kit though for the light bars
Man...nice clean setup. awesome
Thanks!!
Thanks for sharing. Excellent video.
Thanks for watching!
Help me out here, I see you have two ground cables going to the bolt by your relays, what is the cable (besides the blue sea system ground) going to ?
Engine ground ?
One ground is the factory ground for the battery. The other one is the one I added.
There’s also a ground to the back of the engine firewall on the passenger side
@@PhoRunner mind if i show you what im working with?
Ping me on fb . Find me in 3rd gen 4runner mafia
You mentioned swapping a Group 27F battery to replace a OEM for 2001-2002 4Runner, do you know if it will fit the 98 ?
Should fit just fine
What size wire you use for your accessories. Love your videos
It depends on the amp draw but anywhere from 14 to 10 awg
Check out my auxbeam video because I’ve swapped out this system
More videos plz I like yo videos helps me to build my new old 994runner
Cool no prob!
need to do this so bad.
Lol it’s nice!
Great rig!! Are you using the oem negative battery cable? Looks like it’s been modded.
Thanks!!!
It’s a military style kit I added
@@PhoRunner thank you! I don’t like the oem one piece style.
why do you need a relay for all of the accessories/? please explain why you did that. I am a novice. are your accessories always drawing on the battery, even when your key is off??
thanks!
The relay is to handle higher amp draw. It depends on what circuit it’s on but it won’t draw anything if it’s not on
How do you get to fuses in box underneath your setup
It’s Velcro so I can lift it off
Great job. I have that same jacket from Costco by the way 👍
Lol I’m cheap.
really cool 3rd Gen 4runner vids. Just subbed! Great work looking forward to more i have a 3rd gen as well. Great ideas!
Thanks for the sub!
Is the factory fuse block active at all?
Factory fuse block is untouched so yes it is active
@@PhoRunner another question, for all those positives you have in there, where’s your negatives?
It’s on in there also towards the fender side
Hi
Thanks for the video.
On circuit breaker,
BAT label to battery
AUX Label to Fuse Box?
Just main battery to fuse block.
did you do a video on the wiring??
I have not! I was thinking about doing one for the light bars. I only show the wiring of the new circuit for the fuse block in this video.

Probably 8 gauge for the negative
The 12volt battery you installed what year 4runner is it for and does the stock 3rd gen 4runner battery hold down and battery tray fit that battery
01-02 I believe and yes it fits fine in existing tray
Like all your videos 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks bro
What year is your 4runner? I'm looking at getting 99 4runner with 250xxx miles. Still worth it?
Yeah! 250k is maybe a little more than half the miles this engine is capable of. Check my buyers guide video though!

You mention a "big 3" wiring upgrade. What is that?
It’s beefing up the wires to the alternator, battery, grounds to make sure everything is solid.
Any issues using 4 gauge for your Big 3 upgrade? What alternator are you running now?
None so far
@@PhoRunner you running the stock alternator? Or did you upgrade?

Check out my custom rola rack video. I show how I mounted it on there as well as the awning!
thanks for posting. I will be likely following your lead.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Blue sea is very reputable and used often in auto and marine application. I use mine now to send power to the rear of my 4runner

4 GA wires are overkill all you need is 8 GA!
Lol I was thinking bigger was needed!
