    In this video, I replace my Bluesea electrical system with a new Auxbeam Power Switch Panel. This power system replaces the need for switches, relays and a lot of wiring that is common with wiring light bars or accessories. I show you how to install the system and some of my thoughts on the system. This product was given to me to try out and review but it had no bearing on my opinion or review of the product. Check out my video and you will see my final thoughts!

    Hey Minh, I used your video as research for my own Auxbeam Switch Panel install. I copied your mounting technique and location. I think it works out well. I gave you credit in the video mentioning I copied you. I'll put a link to your channel in the video description as well. We still need to film the mounting and wiring of the lights as a Part 2. We got a sponsorship from Auxbeam, but I think they would have been a company I would have purchased from anyway because their lights are affordable and they have a good reputation as far as I know. No way would I spend big money like you can spend with some companies like Baja Designs and drop $2k on one light bar. I just can't see spending that much money on one light and I'm surprised people who run them on their rigs don't get them ripped off. It's just a couple bolts and an electrical connection and that expensive light it gone. Anyways, thanks for the video!

    Clean install. I finally got my roof rack from UpTop Overland and installed it with the Baja S8 lightbar and rocklights connected using their quickwire harness. Now I am not sure what is a good way to get the wires into the car? They suggest either using the pre-existing hole from the original roof rack or through the trunk's weather stripping. Also, I assume I need to buy wires to connect the quickwire to the battery, if so what wires should I buy? I noticed the Auxbean didn't include it, do you know if Spod or SwitchPros do?

    Hey you should do a comparison video between that Auxbeam 8 panel and the Rough Country 8 panel switch. I bought the RC but I haven't installed it yet, and it doesn't have that add a fuse thing. As per RC it has some kind of built in power thing which supposedly shuts the panel switch down after it detects the battery drops to a certain voltage or something. And as far as dimming it, the RC comes with a wiring harness (separate from the harness that controls the lights) which you connect to a dimmable circuit (can't remember the exact words off the top of my head, sorry). Kind of makes me second guess my purchase 🤔 I know each have their pro's and cons. Thanks in advance

    You should be able to find a fuse that has constant power. Switch the fuse tap to that and, in theory, you should be able to continually power the fridge. I’m actual thinking on a way to use a two way switch to determine the fuse it’s connected to.

  • @10K2HVN
    @10K2HVN 2 роки тому +4

    Sweet video! I got a similar one, but not the Auxbeam, so it's a knock off of a knock off, I suppose, but the most important thing is that it works. BTW, you can have it "constant on" but the whole system will be in that configuration, not just a couple of selections; you just have to wire the remote wire (the one you plugged into your ignition) directly into the battery; but then you would just have to monitor whether you left a switch on or not; which is easy because the "on" buttons illuminate when they are on. Or you can we that remote wire into a "master switch" that's connected to a constant power, that way, to ensure it gets accidentally turned on, you can just turn off that master switch. I'm really glad I got mine. Wired my roof rack lights separate from left to right; as well as reverse and rear amber marker lights; and I just wired my ditch lights together; still deciding on main front light bar

      @PhoRunner  2 роки тому +2

    Question: electrical isnt really my forte, so i wanted to ask: if i go with this system, i want to hook up a cooler temp, egt, and trans temp guage on an A-pillar triple pod. Would all 3 guages have their constant 12v and ground wires run through the auxbeam fusebox with the remaining wires for switched (ignition) and illumination conected to add-a-fuses in the fuse box by the driver side foot area? Or is there a better way in your opinion? The gauges only use 4amps in terms of fuses. Thanks man. Learned quite a bit from you!

    • @PhoRunner
      @PhoRunner  Рік тому +1

      I wouldnt hooked those up to the auxbeam since you’d likely want those on when the truck is in accessory/on. I would find a circuit (windshield wiper perhaps) to tap into to power those gauges.
      Another option is to run a standard relay from the battery and use the same add a fuse to turn on the relay. This way the gauges have dedicated circuit to the battery

      @@PhoRunner So i thought i got it in regards to incorporating a relay, but im still confused af. To clarify: my 3 gauges will be daisy chained, 3 red constant 12v merged into one. 3 yellow switched (ignition) merged into one. 3 orange illumination merged into one. 3 black ground merged into one, which will be grounded on it own. Correct me if im wrong: car battery + to inline fuse to pin #30 on relay (is a 5amp inline fuse enough since the gauges are 4amps?). Red constant 12v red wires from gauges (daisy chained onto 1 female spade connector) goes on relay pim #87. daisy chained switched wires from gauges merged to 1 female spade connector goes on relay pin #86. Pin #85 on relay is a direct ground. Where does the remaining daisy chained orange illumination wire to? A tap a fuse into the factory fuse block? Super confusing. I know im asking lot here but i just can find an answer online about this. Thanks for any help you offer, man!

    • @PhoRunner
      @PhoRunner  Рік тому +1

      Orange wire usually goes to something like a head light circuit so the lights only come on when you turn on your headlights. The 4runner doesn’t really have a wire for this easily found. You can try the radio orange wire but I found it doesn’t work.
      I would use 10amp, you want to add 50%.
      I’ll need to look up a wiring diagram but seems right. Seems also like it doesn’t need. Relay, just red to battery and yellow to the add a fuse to turn it on
