Such a great talk and Q&A afterwards. Thanks, AGTS!

Great discourse from Dr. Keener. He is a great example of the necessity for godly scholarship and it’s place in kingdom work. In light of the busyness of Dr. Keener and the significance of the topic, I do wonder at the brief time he was given to speak. There may have been other factors influencing time but an hour just scratched the surface.
The Q&A was great as well. Great first question and very well spoken answer. As a female ordained minister who attended both evangel and agts, I was unaware of the NWM and am excited to hear more

We would have very much enjoyed a longer setting, but Dr. Keener was also involved in several other sessions while in Springfield. We had a limited window with him, and he was so gracious with his time. It is our hope to have him and other scholars and ministry leaders in future livestreams from the Burnett Preaching Center. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Paul grounds his argument in the order of creation, not a cultural context or church situation. This was also a pastoral letter to Timothy who oversaw multiple churches:
”I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.“
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭12‬-‭14‬ ‭ESV‬‬
It’s not complicated, it’s just a hard truth for some to take, especially in feministic cultures; male headship is in the home and the church, as clearly taught by the apostles.

Of course, that is the ultimate exegetical issue with this topic. What are we to do with Paul's argument in 1 Timothy? Keener actually spends a quarter of his presentation on this specific issue. I would be more interested in your response to his actual argument if you watched the presentation. If you just responded without watching it, I think it would be fair to Scripture and Dr. Keener to do that first. At the very least, his exegesis is thoughtful, careful, and beyond the presumed simplicity that you mention. These conversations are so valuable to engage in together. Please engage with his actual argument even if you are not ultimately persuaded by what he says.
