Hey Rusty , started playing Elden ring couple weeks ago, I have been watching your videos and subscribed right away ever since the first one I watched. I fw your content heavy man. obviously you must take time to write your scripts, gotta say they are masterpieces. man you give me good laughing moments and to simply summarize this far to prolonged comment. Thank you
I have always liked the Page enemy's flute music, especially when it overlaps seamlessly with Leyndell's somber background music. So your outtro was a pleasant surprise. Also I'm glad to see that you're having fun with the new content that the DLC has to offer. Your ranking videos are popular because you always have something sharp and sarcastic to say, which makes your rankings very entertaining. But these "tips" videos really sell the channel for me because helping people find good ways to make all sorts of different items/spells work better just feels nice compared to only ever sounding off complaints, funny as they may be. Don't let me dictate your channel of course. I'm only one guy amongst a hundred thousand that would love to listen to you go hoarse over a regional grass texture tier list (why does the DLC grass feel more like Sekiro than Elden Ring??), or whether it's fair to give us more hair options when their eye patch variety is only left/right/full coverage from a tattered dirty sock. Exposed dark empty socket when? None of it matters really because you'll do what you want. Overall I'm just happy that you're having fun.
While it may be tedious to rank things, it is quite helpful to see all of the DLC content explained and humorously presented. Undoubtedly, that's a cool way to do it.
I absolutely love the fleeting microcosm spell. Two hits, both stagger decently and the animation is simply great. Not great against fast bosses, that move around the whole arena in seconds, but for npc invaders and a lot of standard enemies? awesome spell.
Every Fromsoft game brings us more Rusty, and that's worth a full point. 11/10. It's seriously the best balance of informative/relatable so it actually sticks.
Glintblade trio appears to have better stance damage then the normal glintblade. Which I like, because you can combine it with AoW Glintblade Phalanx to poise break enemies on a magic build pretty quickly by just firing volleys of magic missiles.
Rings of Spectral light's damage is buffed by like 20%(?) by the Gravebird Helmet, just a little tidbit that makes it a little bit more useful if you're going for a thematic Gravebird build.
It’s more like 15% last I checked, still a worth while boost though especially since % damage boosts tend to really make the difference with multiple projectile spells
Another point about Miriam's Vanishing, if you don't input a direction when you cast it you'll simply phase out of existence in the spot you're standing in, kinda like the Raptor AoW but without the jump afterwards. Really useful in certain situations to just let the attack phase through you instead of moving out of the way.
Impenetrable Thorns is also really nice vs the Fire Golems, you can stand next to them and pretty much stunlock them by just spamming it (it'll stomp occasionally so just jump when it does + I had Radagon Icon on), when they fall you run around and thorns the face
Microcosm is great for enemies that are unaware of your presence. You can snipe them basically. And if your up high in rafters and Parker areas I'll take microcosm any day
An extra tip Rusty missed: for some reason (glitch?) Cherishing Fingers goes through Crystallian armor. Fully charged, it also blows them away like it does other humanoid enemies, so you can just spam fully charged Fingers until they’re dead.
Maternal staff is the new Lusat staff but without extra fp and giveing a buff to a currently one of the best sorcery categories in the game is a good bonus.
11:37 The bleed buildup also recieves a 165% buff at 99 arcane if you cast it with the Maternal Staff I beleave (which is bugged, the Albunauric Staff only applies 42% to blood sorceries).
I don't know how I didn't notice it before now, but I suddenly want to make a build that maximizes magic damage for casting Glintstone Nail, and run around exclusively on horseback shooting things. Maybe cast the occasional Law of Regression or Law of Causality, to put a lovely golden spin on it.
This is totally unreal, I just discovered these summons I have never seen before in the base game - letmesoloher who throws pots, finger maiden tank/healer and the Dungeater with Insane f%cking Insane Armor that He can practically Solo bosses, I discovered this last night when I'm doing the Ranni Questline
Rings of Spectral Light has another perk i found- Range. It can cover the distance of the Rancor spells but does so far faster, and in a predictable path. When clearing out areas, or pre-firing on bosses, this one was the most reliable use of fp out of the INT/FAI themed spell list i had. The rancor spells far out-damaged it for sure, but needed more travel time and setup.
Damn, 14 new sorceries, and a good deal of them are even more variations variations of "magic missile". Like, miazaki, i already have comet, i can charge it and i can chain cast it. If i min-max it i can do 3000 dmg per cast. Why would i want 30 other variations of it? Meanwhile the clerics have stuff like rejection, ancient lightning strike, fast weapon buff, a str scaling seal, rushdown magic with 400 poise and burgerflip, % DoT, destined death, strongest buffs in the game, and easy access to 2 damage sources that are almost complete opposites.

Good timing, doing my first sorcery only run
Fun fact: if you chain Miriam's Vanishing with messmers orb it speeds up messmers orb
I don't like Elden Ring but watched the whole video, like game design breakdowns.
While it may be tedious to rank things, it is quite helpful to see all of the DLC content explained and humorously presented. Undoubtedly, that's a cool way to do it.
this is such a good video it doesnt rank the spells it just says how to best use them great content
Was not expecting a mention to Wuthering Waves, but I’m all here for it 😂
The Thorns stack very well with the Briar armor to give ~100 damage per roll. That can add up fast in PvP with a light rolling build
“I have faith, I don’t need Intelligence “ : John Elden Ring
Hi elden jhon😂
I absolutely love the fleeting microcosm spell. Two hits, both stagger decently and the animation is simply great. Not great against fast bosses, that move around the whole arena in seconds, but for npc invaders and a lot of standard enemies? awesome spell.
Babe, wake up! Rusty uploaded another video!
Every Fromsoft game brings us more Rusty, and that's worth a full point. 11/10.
It's seriously the best balance of informative/relatable so it actually sticks.
This was pretty great breakdown thanks a ton. Also well done on character creation.
This is a great one man, I enjoy your sorcery caster play style the most
14:57 hold on did that black knight fr just stick its tongue out 😂😂😂 I killed that guy so fast I didn’t even know that was a thing yet lmao
Glintblade trio appears to have better stance damage then the normal glintblade. Which I like, because you can combine it with AoW Glintblade Phalanx to poise break enemies on a magic build pretty quickly by just firing volleys of magic missiles.
can't fucking stop watching this guy.
Entertaining AND informative - that 'ol Content Unicorn that seems to come so naturally to Rusty.
the intro is exactly why i love this channel
18:43 Rusty you weren't crazy and you even got a clip of the double hit happening LOL
Appreciate the down to business intro and outro. Good shit.
Fun video, as per usual, but what we really need is a tier list of all Sites of Grace.
Another point about Miriam's Vanishing, if you don't input a direction when you cast it you'll simply phase out of existence in the spot you're standing in, kinda like the Raptor AoW but without the jump afterwards. Really useful in certain situations to just let the attack phase through you instead of moving out of the way.
love that miazaki is just a length measurement I actually comprehend now
good level of details. thanks for getting into the technical reasons.
Cant wait to watch him ranking every set in the dlc!
Impenetrable Thorns is also really nice vs the Fire Golems, you can stand next to them and pretty much stunlock them by just spamming it (it'll stomp occasionally so just jump when it does + I had Radagon Icon on), when they fall you run around and thorns the face
A little correction. At 13:09 the grace you should start at is not "fissure depths" it's "fissure waypoint". Great video
Rusty, you are truly the second coming of JoCat and I love it.
waiting for that grass ranking list 🙏
Microcosm is great for enemies that are unaware of your presence. You can snipe them basically. And if your up high in rafters and Parker areas I'll take microcosm any day
the visible blades of stone travel looks awesome, they should have added that to the base game
An extra tip Rusty missed: for some reason (glitch?) Cherishing Fingers goes through Crystallian armor. Fully charged, it also blows them away like it does other humanoid enemies, so you can just spam fully charged Fingers until they’re dead.
Just need to beat mohg for my magic only run. Needed some variety and this video is here at the right time.
Mage build is what you were looking for. No one is calling "magic only" a challenge. That's like saying "Sword only run, I can use only swords".
Best intro I’ve seen in awhile
Man I love this guys Elden ring content keep up the great work
You don't need to cast with Maternal staff if you want the finger magic buff. Just leave it at offhand works too!
Bro is always dropping KNOWLEDGE for us
loving knowing how the impenetrable thorns spell works...
Crafting book ranking now. Rusty!!
You know you want to.
