If it isn’t cross play, it doesn’t matter. PC numbers will die out if it’s just dungeon cross play.
Dungeon only would be an idiotic move. "Players can choose to explore Aeternum solo or co-op, using cross-platform play to team up with others" from my understanding you can explore cross play too?

It is cross-play throughout the whole game. Not just in dungeons or instanced activities, but in the open world as well.
I have 2k+ hours in New World and I suggest you never, ever lose even 1 cent to AmazonGames. don't pay attention to the images AmazonGames is the most disgusting company you will ever see... they don't understand games and players at all... New World is dead because of these incompetents. every decision they make is completely horribly wrong... their brains are completely empty when it comes to content. OutPost Rush (PVP mode) has only had one map for 2.5 years :D no joke. It has only 1 map for 2.5 years. It has an economy that progresses at a terrible level, of course, thanks to this Crafting and drop system.
It used to be very good, but they repeated what they always do, so they made a big mistake. haha
like I said, don't lose a cent to AmazonGames.

Unless Scot lane and David Verfaillie are basically fired from that company

Going to console is always a great choice. Larger audience. More income for the developers equals a better product. New World has insane potential to be one of the greats. It just needs some more love.
I’m not sure how they will pull enough players back at this point tbh. After brimstone it still left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth and no ones came back since. Just more and more leaving. I used to be optimistic in believing it had a shot… Not so much anymore.
Very few console players will spend $60 to play a game that released years ago lol, likely won’t matter unless it goes on sale quickly…

As some one whos played on pc but mainly games on console i hope that the servers arent crossplay with pc . Would kill the whole vibe to start day one on a server and theres maxed characters and clans running around holding all the poi.

I hope i can get my old character back… was among the first on my server to hit max level back before the first expansion. Game kinda died shortly after that
My thoughts... it should be a great thing that the game is being brought to more players. I just don't have much faith in AGS anymore. They talk about slowing down for quality, but that hasn't come true. The game is and always will be a buggy mess. Current players have suffered for the past 6 months as AGS works behind the scenes on console. Do we all think console release is going to go smooth? I highly doubt it meaning AGS will have to continue to pour a majority of resources into console related issues going forward instead of being able to focus on more content.
Like you, I'm also a dev, and I know making any application cross platform is quite expensive both initially and for the rest of its lifetime. I don't think AGS is going to invest enough into New World to make it be as successful as we want it to be.

As a sole ps5 player and selling my pc nearly 3 years ago due to having kids I can’t wait for new world on console. I put a solid 400 hours on this game on pc and it was my favourite game made. Bring on the bugs and glitches who cares! Can’t wait
I don’t really understand the price point of this game. I do understand the loyal fan base or people hyped to the game will buy it, but the game is not large enough any more to price it at 59.99.

Well, I hope to play with my friends who use consoles. I hope they don't make console only servers because that will defeat the purpose of playing with everyone.
They will for sure put them on fresh start servers, so if you want to play with console friends, you will need to start over.

If they don't have more than this, it's going to be a huge let down. They need FSS with servers with over 10k Player caps at least - which should be possible now with the shard servers that they're bringing. Also... Make things rewarding - nothing in the game feels rewarding.

Is it not? I've been playing completely fine. I mean pvp is hard for certain weapons that require turning around and backstabbing alot, but it's fine. FPS is trash though, as someone who runs 144 @2k normally

console means tab-target while thy did not ban any musket or any ranged players that are using aimbot users and so thy ruined a weapon totally; and now thy bring tab-target aimbot officially themself lol...
NW players are test subjects of NEW LOTR mmorpg. Like how Archeage 1 is wasted to milk players for Archeage 2 development and now AA1 is closed. The same thing is happening for NW. Thus, no point to rise any hope or extra hype for NW anymore.
New and returning players cannot enjoy the current game in old servers. Similar to Archeage 1 Unchained, we need a similar concept for New World too !!!
Hopefully New world goes to Xbox game pass.

They need to make crossplay work well. If it does ill defintly hop back on amd encourage my friends to that are on console. There is not many decent mmos on console. You pretty much just have eso on xbox which is boring.

So what? It comes to consoles, yeah.. and? The game failed on PC massively. Console players will drop it after 2-3 months too. The game needs one thing only, and thats a weapon / armor enchanting system like any other MMO and done. Farming stuff and running dungeons to get mats for upgrades will make your grind worthfully, cuz now you are grinding for literally nothing. Zero goals. Thats it. One thing and the game is fixed.
My biggest hope is that this is cross play.

People in the comments saying the game has come a long way in 2 years...to come back and try it before bashing it...get a grip. Game has nothing new in years. Its the same ol content, abilities, perks, gear, dungeons etc. They havnt made anything new and exciting since launch. Most of the time all the devs are doing is fixing stuff they broke from whatever previous patch they put out. Every single dev talk video is copy pasta from the last and nothing changes. I gave the game 4k hours, came back for each major patch until 6-9 months ago and everything they released was broken and just a repaint of existing content. Almost every dungeon is a repaint of starstone...all indoors, mostly the same looks...except tempest. Perks have been boring since launch, progression feels terrible. End game is so boring, wars are pointless. Farming for mats has always been pointless, without instanced nodes you are running the whole map hoping the other 100 people skipped a node so you can maybe get 1. Farming for gear to sell for profit has been nuked out of the game. All and all game is dogshit and 6 months after console release itll be just as fckin dead as it is now. Probably sooner.

I played with controller for about a day and it was horrible. I highly doubt well get good about of console players.
To much hate on this game from people that haven't played in 2 years. They really should check it out before commenting on it being a dead game. Game has come a long way.

As a PC player who has been playing on PC for 3 years now, I don't care about console. Yes it might bring more players, but the downside is, that most likely bring long ques, more contested nodes, and most negatively, it will DUMB DOWN the game. They already are planning changes to the GUI and have done targeting which has screwed ranged play up. Lack of content was bad enough, now this. I'll soon be looking for a new game if my fears come true ... and I don't care about Lord of the Rings. Hated the other Lord of the Ring MMO's, I doubt I'll like this one.
I don’t know anyone in any of my gaming communities who want this to come to console and are just dying to play it.
