      EV will only satifsy me for when there is heavy traffic and it self-drives, that way when its self-driving I can be doing something to earn more money for maintaining and buying more ICE perfomance cars/bikes

      @umah. 2 роки тому

      @@dsmluck doing well doesn't mean it's better. In order to draw a conclusion which has more advantages than the other we should compare apples to apples. For example, Porsche 919 hybrid Evo is still way faster than the VW I.D. R in Nurburgring which proves it has better handling, acceleration, & power. Look at the performance of Formula E compared to Formula 1, it doesn't even come close. For now, EV is still behind the hybrid tech. But, I'm sure it will catch up.

      @@umah. the new formula e gen 3 car is going to close that gap later this year, it has similar power to weight ratios and can go over 200mph. Also bad comparison because f1 have tons more total downforce and run on full slicks they change seversl times during a race.
      Not treaded tires that have to last a whole race like formula e does. Take away downforce and put an f1 on treaded tires and it would be a very interesting comparison. 🤔

    I’m in the minority here who like the concept and sound. I will say I think if it had a transmission with gears it would be “worse” from a technical standpoint but I think it would sound better and offer more driver engagement. I bet in the end they have a compelling platform however. Have to start somewhere so I’ll keep an open mind.

    Why can't the front motor do regenerative breaking, as we as powering the car?
    I mean since it is already there, it would make sense for it to also deliver power right?

    • @phchecker17
      @phchecker17 2 роки тому +3

      When pressing the accelerator pedal, all the weight is on the rear wheels. When pressing the brake pedal, all the weight is on the front. The car could also have undesirable handling characteristics if too much power is on the front when cornering.

    the production model is going to be on the market faster, cheaper, and better than the Tesla Roadster 2.0

    • @4literv6
      @4literv6 2 роки тому

      It won't be faster, will not be sooner, I'll give you likely cheaper since the supercar capable gen2 roadster starts at 200k. And even though a cayman can exceed 100k already. Porsche will likely keep this well below it's beloved 911&taycan pricing, which the taycan has been out selling the 911 in certain month's lately. 🤔

    • @TheGardenMG
      @TheGardenMG 2 роки тому +1

      @@4literv6 I don't mean the Cayman EV (or whatever it'll be called) will be faster than the Roadster 2.0, I mean it "will be on the market faster" = you can actually get it sooner, and I'm pretty confidence about that. Porsche already has a few prototype running around and they have the experience on manufacturing, given Tesla's past records on production schedule and priority it's just not possible for the Roadster to make delivery anytime soon.

      They said these cars go out on tour starting next month going through spring 2024. At which point Porsche plans to introduce the production intent st version of them in 2024. Slated for 2025 production.

      @TheGardenMG 2 роки тому +1

      @@4literv6 Tesla also promised full self driving by the end of 2019 and we all know how that goes. Giving the Roadster is a very niche market and the priority of the company is currently Cybertruck and Semi I'm fully confidence that the Cayman EV will be produce in meaningful number first.
