Caymans and Boxsters specially since the 981 gen (but let's not forget the masterpiece that is the 987 Cayman R) have always been the holly grail of Porsche sport cars for the ones in the know. It has taken an RS version for all the other ones to finally wake up and catch up...welcome aboard.

You know that the person who buys this car isn’t their average “911 businesses executive or doctor” who just wants to get “noticed” by other people. No. Those who buy the Cayman GT4 RS will most likely be someone that knows cars, who has been into cars, and who can actually drive! Yes, it only comes in PDK, but still glorious

God bless Porsche. I love the impassive Teutonic Stoicism of the real engineers and drivers here. The complete lack of emotion is impressive in its own way, since we are seeing the real people behind the program instead of a bunch of bubbly idiots with their too fluent commentary. A real testament to Porsche engineering and their true commitment to quality. I say this as a happy driver of the much-maligned current generation Cayman with the four pot engine, which I nonetheless adore for its responsiveness despite the dodgy sound.
Dealer laughed at me when I asked about buying one. He also laughed when I asked about the GT3. The gentleman said maybe 3-4 years. I have the 2021 S and its underpowered. I want this in a manual. I love the car its just not fast enough.

Car is 84k and no one wanted to make a deal on a C8. My Hellcat was lemoned and needed a daily driver... sorry I can afford a Porsche as my daily...
Don’t let a moronic salesman defer you from ordering one. You’ll be the one laughing at the end of the day when you receive yours, even if it does take 2-3yrs. I personally would take this over the GT3 all day long because this GT4RS will be so much more raw, and more desirable. GT3’s are just too common nowadays and not that special considering there are GT3RS and GT2RS models.

@@CS21dude No because the GTS is like the 911 Carrera GTS. It would be nice to have a car with the same feel as a GT4 but is a Touring package with no wings. I know the 718 Spyder is kind of like that but I want a hard top.
@@ehabs07 I have a GTS 4.0 and have driven the GT4 - I’m more than satisfied with mine (it is sensational) but I understand the desire for the GT suspension etc.
@@CS21dude I haven’t driven the GTS 4.0. I heard great things about it. I have a GT4. I love it. But I feel that there’s a small niche for a car like it that has the exact GT4 specs that’s not with big fixed wings.

Although the 911's are superb and through clever design and many years of development have overcome the issues of a rear-engine layout, and while in this video were are talking about a very special race version, I think the Cayman and Boxter designs being created new from the ground up and with the mid engine layout already have a head start in the handling department among other things. When this model range was first were first introduced a lot of people said that they were the 'poor man's' Porsche or for people who were just unable to afford a 911, but I think the Cayman/Boxter are actually better than the 911 and so good that Porsche changed to the four cylinder turbo engines to try and create some clear water between them and their 911 flagships. I prefer the Cayman over the 911 range especially as Porsche have gone back to the six cylinder powerplants.

How far is it from this car to the GT4 class car of same name ?
Porsche is saying that this Cayman GT4 RS won’t be a limited edition, and that they plan on making it for 2 1/2yrs or so, which makes me excited. There will be plenty of them sold used, and considering that there might be one or two revisions of this car made after this model comes out (just like the Cayman GT4 has), it gives me hope that I’ll be able to afford this car one day. I’ve already spec’d out my own Cayman GT4 RS on Porsches website, and mine came to $200k. Could I afford this car new in the future? Yes. But I wouldn’t mind spending a little less for a low mileage one on the used market either…
Porsche Panamera is perfect. I wish I could make a few more of the other sedans. Even if it is a classic, and even if it is the same sports sedan, the brand value is expected to rise.
