  • The story of the 1868 "Barossa Goldfields" goldrush in the Barossa Valley, South Australia, near Gawler. 6000 diggers, 25,000 ounces of gold! You can still visit the diggings today.

Our old house is and was on the site of some gold diggings by a creek in that general Humbug Scrub and Victoria Creek area. I plan to dig there one day. I found a bit of gold in quartz there aged eight.

I basically spent my childhood exploring Para Wirra & Humbug Scrub. My parents used to say, 'Bbq's taste better at Para Wirra'. I still go exploring there and am totally fascinated by the old prospecting stories. I too, would of had 'Gold Fever'. Awesome video! Best of luck Christopher J Barnes, I hope you find lots of beautiful gold on your property! 😀
