Thank you for the time stamps. They’re a life saver if I’m looking for quick identification by just examining the overall appearance of the fungi out in the wild. Having a bit of trouble trying to figure out what exact Amanita species the mushrooms I found earlier are so this is knowledgeable for me. Great video! 😁👍🏼
Very nice video and I agree the sorting Amanitas out can be quite a headache. There's some 1200 of them some 460 edible (so they say) and 565 not give or take a few.
Yes! I assume you mean seperating Amanita caesarea from Amanita jacksonii? Amanita caesarea is not a "slender Caesar", it is much girthier. Amanita jacksonii is normally a deeper color to the pileus and has much more stipe ornamentation. There are other more minute details as well.
I'm a beginner for sure I started out on psilocybe cubensis in the cow fields found out turkey tail was the lead in cancer research in Japan and now I inspire to be a full blown mycologist I do believe I found aminita jacksonii in Alabama I'm 100% positive it is the right mushroom I plan on eating honestly a little scared I used some I D apps and it identify as aminita jacksonii and it looks like all the videos I've seen I feel really confident I can eat it should I lol
To be safe, we can just eat the easily identifiable edible ones like Morel and Chanterelle. Just leave out the amanitas unless you are an experienced forest forager or a mycologist.

Excellent break down. Good job!
Great video, thanks. I get a pretty large patch of these every year in my front yard. Very regular spawn almost to the day.
Excellent!

Well over 500 edible species just between section Caesareae and section Vaginatae!
7:00 the stem pattern reminds me of asparagus stalks!
Is there any morphological differences that separate it from jacksonii or is location they key factor in distinguishing the two?
