chilla has some skill when it comes to horror but also when it comes to making realistic characters and story beats, when he wants to. around high school I got to stay at a runaway shelter a week, due to dcf meddling in our family when we were a stable family, it was....interesting hearing how good I really had it. there was 2 brothers in much the same boat of these sibs. till they got caught, another kid had been sustaining himself with oddjobs and mall food. and a teen a bit older than me was there cause of an abusive dad if I recall and had been there a while. its surpisingly accurate the details of their neglectful mom's attitutde and behaviors including the consequences of abandonment.
God, yeah. I've met people like the mom, who resent their children for existing and *would* condemn them to slowly starve to death, if circumstances were even slightly different. Screw scary clowns - "parents" like this are the monsters that actually scare me.
@@Thollis1987Sometimes they are unplanned or because of unfortunate events if you know what i mean. And they decide to keep it because of morals. But that still doesn't justify treating your children like that. She definitely could've given them up to foster care it seems like that was an option in the game (dunno much about Japan's helping system so I'm just saying based on the game)
@@unknowns78 I dunno about Japan, but since my country operates with similar culture, i think it would be embarrassing for the mother to put the kids to the foster house. It's kind of honor/shame thing. It sets in rural settings as well...that honor/shame thing is more thick in that parts of the country.
honestly the mister isn't even that evil just mentally disturbed.. through it despite the fact he kidnaps us.. he doesn't really do anything to us.. he just stops us from leaving. if anything the mom is just plain evil.. especially when she just picks them up from foster care to basically what? dump them back in a empty house and leave? like wtf?!
He seems to be mentally stuck at around Renya's age from the trauma of being abused by his mother into adulthood. He only stops Renya from leaving because the sister probably told him to not let him leave (considering she asked him to kidnap Renya too). He is easy to manipulate; in fact the sister seems to be using him more than anything else.
@@OctagonCookiesI mean, that's heavily implied to be his abusive mom, basically mirroring the ending where he kills renya's mom after seeing her being abusive.
@OctagonCookies okay yeah there's that.. I assume it's his mom though who was abusive so I don't feel super bad. But like despite the lack of clean up from the murder he hasn't killed more than just her from what I can tell.
"He breaks in without permission" As apposed to breaking in after you give consent for it, I know English isn't necessarily the devs first language (I mean, granted, it was translated better than what I probably could do) but this sentence is just amusing to think about
I admit, I was curious about what the result would be but that was a pretty interesting result. The sister was desperate, the man was troubled and of course, the mother was just plain evil. As much as nothing of value was lost, I appreciate the horror twist at the end with Renya smiling. Great game from Chillas as usual
Considering Chilla likes to make scathing social commentary, this strikes me as being critical of Japanese CPS, as it looks like in the events of this game, “reunification” is the end result no matter how abusive or neglectful the bio parents are. American CPS can be similar. They take kids from parents who simply haven’t been clean long enough or have a complaint by a neighbor, but don’t lift a finger when there are clear signs of abuse in a home. I kinda wish Mister could have kept the kids. He seemed mentally a child himself but it would have been better than the alternative.

_The tragedy behind the horror_- The game was a different take on horror, showing what's behind a crime in the future. I felt sorry for the boy, sorrier for his sister who was so confused about how to get her mother's attention and love. The clown was creepy af.
The 'kidnapper' with blood all over his house. That's a detail that can't be overlooked. The 'kidnapper' with blood all over his house takes better care of the kids than their mother.

After binging the last 6 months of videos, I finally catch up... only for this to be uploaded 2 minutes later. Thank you for supplying me with more content.
Cool to see another game from Chillas art so soon. This one honestly gave me more of a fears to fathom vibe. Although the true horror is bad parenting. I find it funny that they didnt really investigate the mother in the one ending, cause she just leaves the kids and like thats just asking for more trouble. Love the funnier things that happen though, like the kid jamming to music at school. Wonder how chilla would do with a funny comedic horror game.
I didn't expect I'd actually make it into the game, since I donated a month or two before the game came out. "Lucky Foot" is the nickname, Supporter credits in the beginning on the left most.
This is the first Chilla's Art game I feel I will not finish. 9 minutes in, and just... these poor kids, man. This is even more tragic than Okaeri, and that one was terribly tragic already. But somehow... the mother abandoning her daughter because she can't cope with the debt and being a single mother is less horrible than a mother willingly abandoning her two children, telling them she wished they were never born... Chilla's really outdid themselves with the ordinary horror.
your videos have been a comfort to me while recovering from a very painful breakup, thank you for being so consistent :) also heck yeah new chilla's art game
I know the characters in Chilla's Art games always have weird expressions and...you know, just look weird. But somehow this game right here reminds me really much of Forbidden Siren 1 & 2 in that regard.
I’m kinda glad to see the mom died in the one ending but I kept wondering the whole time, can you take the evidence to show the police and if not, why not? I’m also glad to see one of the other kids parents finally try to take them into foster care. Sad that they about ended up with her again and probably would’ve been abandoned again if not for the trip to Mister’s house. They really should’ve investigated the mom in both the police and mother killed endings.
@@66DoodleGal considering the way she acts, probably some level of entitlement regarding the whole "these are *my* kids!" thing; there's an infuriating number of people out there who clearly don't give a shit about their children yet still feel like the kids "owe" them just for being born or are items of property property that they, the parent, own
Seriously I wondered how in the other endings the police don't find the blood everywhere when he's arrested for just kidnapping. Also where even was she during the entire thing? Clearly the bills were still being paid since the power and such were still on the entire time though the trash was pilling up was odd.
@@zerrodefexIt's the fact that how less serious they are about this. They don't even care the kids were actually abandoned. It's just how it is. It got serious once murder happened. Maybe the law requires them to be serious here.
Any idea what happens when you go into the room where the clown had the sister in the cage at the final sequence? It was locked throughout the whole game but was open at the end 1:08:29
One thing I’ve noticed is a lot of Chilla’s Art games source their horror and stories from social issues in Japan. Which is why a lot of the protagonists are women who seldom get taken serious for harassment and assault. I wonder if this game is a reflection of children being necessary, but not always prioritized. Lots of Japanese legislation favors older generations, and with the graying population, there aren’t enough people able to work, which puts a strain on the population. I don’t know much about the state of childcare, but women are expected to be the main caregivers, even to the detriment of themselves or their careers, which for some could cause a lot of resentment. Not excusing the mom at all, but this is what I mean when I say the story is sourced from real issues.
Nice to finally see the game that has been testing the math skills of others as of late. Gotta admit, the moment I saw the mom say she was going to talk to Mister, I too had a big smile on my face. Glad to see a horror game with a Good End.
it's always fun to see how they tackle the games differently.. Manly going about the ballon popping with the spike ball, while AstralSpiff on the other hand popped every balloon by hand
I watch your videos when I do my dishes or chores and I’ve loved that you read the dialogue. You read it in the correct tones for the content in the game and makes it so much easier to follow along whenever I can’t keep my full attention on the screen. I love your content and I hope you can read more in the future videos!
I think Chilla missed a potentially funny ending, tbh. During the final chase, if you keep running past your house, the clown could've appeared, beat the crap outta the Mister, then just disappeared into the forest again. Not as a dream sequence, an actual clown just lurking out in the woods. Would've made a good kinda "???" ending AND subverted the usual "evil clown" trope.
Man as soon as I saw he peed the bed my heart dropped. Peeling the bed is a sign a kid could have a past of abuse (more so SA) and neglect. As someone who was raised in a family where we took in kids for foster care most of my childhood it breaks my heart. :(
This game is basically my childhood nightmare, I'm terrified of being completely alone like it. It's hard for me to watch games like these but I still somehow love them.
I still say that Closing Shift is the best game by Chilla's Art, but damn if this one doesn't come close! Just like Closing Shift, this one is scary in how realistic it is, along with being good at ramping up the horror and tension. I actually quite like the splash of the supernatural with the attic jumpscare, even if a little out of left field. It helps add to the sensation that even though this is grounded in reality, it doesn't mean you're totally safe. I would say this is probably my second or third favorite Chilla game. As much as I love Japanese mythology in horror games, they do a great job of highlighting very real everyday terror. A+
-probably the jumpscare, and the clown, are because of the boy's imagination. he's in elementary school after all, so he's very young, which likely comes with an active imagination, especially when he's feeling scared and unsafe.
I do think this is a very well put game. Yeah it isn't too heavy on being scary but it has a pretty good story that I can get behind. I like the direction they went with this title of theirs.
It's a shame when the best ending for these kids is when their mother dies. I've met parents like that and it never ends well for the kids. The parents only ever see them as tools to be used, and only ever come back when they believe the kids to be of "use". The only thing you can do in those situations is hope they call them out on their neglect and hope they go no contact.
First I thought it was weird that the kid didn't mention the corpse he found in the attic to the police. Then I realized that it was probably intentional because he related to the Mister killing his violent mother.
4:52 the sister looking out for her little brother with both helping him with cleaning the sheets and trying to spin this into teaching him to take care of himself through learning how to do laundry ;o;... my heart is breaking so much for these two kids oh my god
There should be a dialogue option in every game, where you tell an npc that youre the protag, have it just lead to a funny scene or a possible short side campaign
As of Monday night it's already been a long week and I am oh so happy to have a new Chilla's Art/Manly vid to enjoy my dinner with. Times like these make me think maybe there reallly is a paranormal entity living in the walls looking after me
This isn't scary. This is absolutely creepy/horrifying. That mom just wanted to get rid of the kids and hide the fact they exist, making up a scene when someone or something else forces her to recognize that they still do. What is this like, elementary school type of kids? She left them alone for so long, anything else could've happened.
That was a really well done story. I liked it. (Of course I've had a soft spot for Chilla's Art for a long time.) I've gotta say, I like asking for happy endings in these and boy was that a smile.
Whenver I see a new Chilla's Art release on Steam, I patiently anticipate Manly's playthrough the following days! Is it normal to have a favourite Chilla's Art 'playthrough-er' or am I the anomaly here?😅
Omg the beginning is kind of making me sad...this actually happens I'm Japan a fair amount...or something similar...the leaving/uncaring/running away type of stuff.
I found you not long ago with some of your more recent videos, even though this was a few weeks ago itself, but your chill voice and sometimes just unenergetic energy is perfect for these types of games and I would be able to listen to you way more than how most others started to edit and add so many affects to their videos. I might stay for more :3
1:13:26 the kid: this is my master plan all along.. and acting sister: *stress seeing mother getting oof by a mister* mother: *oof* mister: *gone crazy*
Clowns are so creepy in this! I mean, the child neglect is objectively worse but jfc that clown with the little kicking legs. Also the new day sound totally reminds me of the new location sound from Dark Souls!
This is my favorite Chilla's game. It's not as scary as the others, but the pacing for the story is great, and the creepy and uncanny graphics and voice acting make these scenes very interesting, I was fully invested into knowing where the sister went, and my heart was warmed when the three children showed their support to the main character. The final puzzle of walking around the house doing everything to scape was very intuitive, and not overly complicated, while still keeping me on the edge of my seat, and startling me when the sister suddenly popped up. I also like that the ending was not obvious, at first I thought calling the police would lead to the good ending, but it was much more satisfying to see the mom get rekt after learning that not even the police can keep the kid's away from the true monster of the story: the mother. Finally, I love that there is a corpse and ghost at the attic, it's fitting for a Chilla's game, the jumpscare was cheap, but fitting nonetheless. Edit: I also just noticed that the first scene was the kidnapper as a child lol
I love chillas games, but the fact that three endings are essentially identical is a bit of a shame. All the buildup and having to repeat the chase sequence for it is just an odd decision. Everything else is as brilliant and janky as ever ❤

Look up the Abandoned Children of Sugamo. The laws in Japan are truly fucked-up when it comes to child protection.
@@unknowns78I can't understand what your point is.
@@TheHeavieKiwieWeebs tend to believe that Japan is perfect and have no flaws whatsoever. So when that view is being challenged, they’ll just reactively start defending and deflecting.
chilla has some skill when it comes to horror but also when it comes to making realistic characters and story beats, when he wants to. around high school I got to stay at a runaway shelter a week, due to dcf meddling in our family when we were a stable family, it was....interesting hearing how good I really had it. there was 2 brothers in much the same boat of these sibs. till they got caught, another kid had been sustaining himself with oddjobs and mall food. and a teen a bit older than me was there cause of an abusive dad if I recall and had been there a while. its surpisingly accurate the details of their neglectful mom's attitutde and behaviors including the consequences of abandonment.
God, yeah. I've met people like the mom, who resent their children for existing and *would* condemn them to slowly starve to death, if circumstances were even slightly different. Screw scary clowns - "parents" like this are the monsters that actually scare me.
Oh my gosh. Why do people have children when they clearly are not interested and reliable to care for?
@@Thollis1987Sometimes they are unplanned or because of unfortunate events if you know what i mean. And they decide to keep it because of morals.
But that still doesn't justify treating your children like that.
She definitely could've given them up to foster care it seems like that was an option in the game (dunno much about Japan's helping system so I'm just saying based on the game)
@@unknowns78 That’s true. I don’t know how Japan handles foster care and adoption issues either.
@@unknowns78 I dunno about Japan, but since my country operates with similar culture, i think it would be embarrassing for the mother to put the kids to the foster house. It's kind of honor/shame thing. It sets in rural settings as well...that honor/shame thing is more thick in that parts of the country.
There's something comforting about Manly playing Japanese horror games
TRUE
yeah, especially GOHOME, it was peak
honestly the mister isn't even that evil just mentally disturbed.. through it despite the fact he kidnaps us.. he doesn't really do anything to us.. he just stops us from leaving.
if anything the mom is just plain evil.. especially when she just picks them up from foster care to basically what? dump them back in a empty house and leave? like wtf?!
Don’t really feel bad about the Mr. killing her
He seems to be mentally stuck at around Renya's age from the trauma of being abused by his mother into adulthood. He only stops Renya from leaving because the sister probably told him to not let him leave (considering she asked him to kidnap Renya too). He is easy to manipulate; in fact the sister seems to be using him more than anything else.
I feel like many people in these comments are just ignoring the human meat bolognese in his attic?
@@OctagonCookiesI mean, that's heavily implied to be his abusive mom, basically mirroring the ending where he kills renya's mom after seeing her being abusive.
@OctagonCookies okay yeah there's that.. I assume it's his mom though who was abusive so I don't feel super bad. But like despite the lack of clean up from the murder he hasn't killed more than just her from what I can tell.
"He breaks in without permission" As apposed to breaking in after you give consent for it, I know English isn't necessarily the devs first language (I mean, granted, it was translated better than what I probably could do) but this sentence is just amusing to think about
To be fair, that sentence is also absolutely something a small child might say. :D
Same vibe as “You can’t rob me, that’s illegal!”
@@bleh This is fair
"Hello sir, good morning, may you give me permission to breaks into your house?"
@@RoyJic"You kidnapped Jack Black!? That's illegal!"
I admit, I was curious about what the result would be but that was a pretty interesting result. The sister was desperate, the man was troubled and of course, the mother was just plain evil. As much as nothing of value was lost, I appreciate the horror twist at the end with Renya smiling. Great game from Chillas as usual
There's a special place in my heart for games made by Chilla's Art.
Idk why but watching Manly do kanji homework with his 20k DPS (DPI but I'm keeping this in because sigma energy) mouse made me so happy. I could smell the weeb through my screen.
Right?! I would love a game just that!
Real manly fans think this.
Man it's DPI. Not DPS. Mouse use dots per inch. Time is irrelevant

_The tragedy behind the horror_-
The game was a different take on horror, showing what's behind a crime in the future. I felt sorry for the boy, sorrier for his sister who was so confused about how to get her mother's attention and love.
The clown was creepy af.
Thank you NFG
Yeah its a realistic horror about the tragedy that happens to so many kids living with narcissistic neglectful parents...
The fact that a freaking 'Kidnapper' takes better care than their mother speaks massive volumes.
The 'kidnapper' with blood all over his house. That's a detail that can't be overlooked. The 'kidnapper' with blood all over his house takes better care of the kids than their mother.
That mother was the most horrifying thing in the game. 😞
Last ending was sure to strike a nerve 🤫
She had it coming on what happened in the end.
The most terrifying thing is that posture the sister had in the bad ending.
I really like the card feature, bc if she did what I’m thinking and those are her patreons on those cards, that’s a really cool and nifty feature of making them canon as cards in that universe!
After binging the last 6 months of videos, I finally catch up... only for this to be uploaded 2 minutes later. Thank you for supplying me with more content.
🫡 That's dedication!
Manly sounds so outraged when he blurts out that there's a clown in the house.
Hope your cold goes away soon dude! Thanks for making this video btw. Been really stressed lately and your videos help a lot
Oh that's why he sounds different
I'm currently drawing... Manly + a Chilla's art game sounds PERFECT right now.
Same!
me too😭
Chilla’s Art is always welcomed with open arms.
"Lucky Foot" is the nickname, Supporter credits in the beginning on the left most.
i care more about a new release by chilla's art than about most AAA games
This is the first Chilla's Art game I feel I will not finish. 9 minutes in, and just... these poor kids, man. This is even more tragic than Okaeri, and that one was terribly tragic already. But somehow... the mother abandoning her daughter because she can't cope with the debt and being a single mother is less horrible than a mother willingly abandoning her two children, telling them she wished they were never born... Chilla's really outdid themselves with the ordinary horror.
your videos have been a comfort to me while recovering from a very painful breakup, thank you for being so consistent :) also heck yeah new chilla's art game
Manly is probably the most stoic person when it comes to playing horror games, moist critical comes close though
Moist critical plays games on his channel ? I thought he just talked about current events.
@@lockmuertosstreams
That’s why I watch him, he doesn’t over react to get views or fake anything, he is just a simple manly badass hero who plays horror games
@@lockmuertosOh yeah I have seen him play games before. Doesn't look like he digs too deep into the games though.
Moist jokes around to much, he’s stoic but his whole shtick is his random absurd humor, and it ruins the atmosphere.
A horrifying scene happens in front of two children 1:12:20 Manly: Well this turned out good!
I know the characters in Chilla's Art games always have weird expressions and...you know, just look weird.
But somehow this game right here reminds me really much of Forbidden Siren 1 & 2 in that regard.
Glad to see someone mention Siren, especially the kid waking up remind me of the intro from Siren 2
Haha welcome to the real world
Don’t even know why she came back for them since she clearly doesn’t want them. They would’ve been happier in foster care.
I think this officially wins the record for worst mother in a video game ever.
Mother Brain Metroid
Like I say, she had it coming and she got it real good.
Any idea what happens when you go into the room where the clown had the sister in the cage at the final sequence? It was locked throughout the whole game but was open at the end 1:08:29
Actually good question. Who's gonna try it?
I liked the ending for this one, dont think chilla’s art has done one like it before
You correctly doing the homework was cute!
He got one math question wrong tho 😅
I think it’s more a reflection of the lax laws protecting children
Nice to finally see the game that has been testing the math skills of others as of late. Gotta admit, the moment I saw the mom say she was going to talk to Mister, I too had a big smile on my face. Glad to see a horror game with a Good End.
I knew the kid was gonna be smiling but damn it's still so dark.
Love it when all of my favorite streamers suddenly play the same game all at once! ☺️
it's always fun to see how they tackle the games differently.. Manly going about the ballon popping with the spike ball, while AstralSpiff on the other hand popped every balloon by hand
@@ArmundJay didn't know it was possible by hand! 😆
@@gagadreams yup! you can just click the balloons individually.
I watch your videos when I do my dishes or chores and I’ve loved that you read the dialogue. You read it in the correct tones for the content in the game and makes it so much easier to follow along whenever I can’t keep my full attention on the screen. I love your content and I hope you can read more in the future videos!
I was okay until I heard the little boy voice screaming 'neechan!'. ; A ; Anything by Chilla always gets me, somehow.
Clicked on this one right away when I saw it was Chilla, I love watching you play their games!
It's not as scary as the other ones but the sheer sadness and helpless those kids are going through breaks you
Man as soon as I saw he peed the bed my heart dropped. Peeling the bed is a sign a kid could have a past of abuse (more so SA) and neglect. As someone who was raised in a family where we took in kids for foster care most of my childhood it breaks my heart. :(
Manly never gets freaked out and it’s hilarious. Especially with Chilla’s art 😂
Jeez the beginning is so chilling as the family starts disappearing.
Manly and Chilla's Art makes for a good day.
So...... the clown never truly existed at all?
Sad clown music
Maybe the real clown was the friends we made along the way
I think it was created by the mind of a malnourished and lonely boy, based on what he heard from others
So many horrible things happened, breaking the limit at the end...
The credit song be like- "LET'S VIBE"
First I thought it was weird that the kid didn't mention the corpse he found in the attic to the police. Then I realized that it was probably intentional because he related to the Mister killing his violent mother.
not even 5 minutes in and we already hear Manly say "what the hell"
this is peak content fr
Yeeees love seeing new chillas art games, I love the creepy stalker theme
Man, this one is just straight depressing.
20:52 Clearly that door is nothing more than a mere suggestion.
4:52 the sister looking out for her little brother with both helping him with cleaning the sheets and trying to spin this into teaching him to take care of himself through learning how to do laundry ;o;... my heart is breaking so much for these two kids oh my god
A kid napping? Did he wake up tho?
Accurate
Chilla has been making some of my fav games recently :) Glad i found them through you!
Is it normal to have a favourite Chilla's Art 'playthrough-er' or am I the anomaly here?😅
"Oh my god cat, you're right, there is a clown here."
Omg the beginning is kind of making me sad...this actually happens I'm Japan a fair amount...or something similar...the leaving/uncaring/running away type of stuff.
Glad you're feeling better, man. And I'm so sorry the Princess gave you germs. It was probably from her furry form (totally worth it).
okay this came at a really good time i was kinda sick soo thank you manly! get well soon and take care of yourself!
Manly sounding genuinely perturbed by the clown in his room was mildly funny...I think I'd shit bricks myself to be honest.
ANOTHER CHILLA'S ART GAME!! SO HAPPY!
I found you not long ago with some of your more recent videos, even though this was a few weeks ago itself, but your chill voice and sometimes just unenergetic energy is perfect for these types of games and I would be able to listen to you way more than how most others started to edit and add so many affects to their videos. I might stay for more :3

LESGOOOO Manly, keep surviving my dude
That was such a sad game. No real happy ending for these kids
I waited until you posted the game, can't watch anyone else play it until you do! Let me grab some snacks, I'll be back, Manly. 😆👌
44:04 the fnaf music 😭
I love chillas games, but the fact that three endings are essentially identical is a bit of a shame. All the buildup and having to repeat the chase sequence for it is just an odd decision.
Everything else is as brilliant and janky as ever ❤
I lvoe that Chilla's keeps pumping out these games. I remember playing their first couple games years and years ago, forgetting they existed then i had like 6 new games to check out.
Years and years ago? I’m guessing convenience store was likely your first as that was the one that got big on UA-cam. That was in 2020. Not “years and years” lol
