Spyderco Ziptie Knife Modification

This video shows you how to modify your knife with a ziptie so that it mimics the Emerson Wave Opener, which allows you to deploy the blade while you pull the knife out of the pocket. I recommend that if you decide to use this modification then you should try to apply this modification to all of your knives so that your deployment method is consistent, which is important if your faced in a tactical situation. This modification is faster than a switchblade, so check with your local laws on its legality. This information is for entertainment only so use it at your own discretion.
Note: The number of zipties used will depend on the knife and size/shape of the hole.

Switchblades are illegal only because the opening is triggered by the mechanism within the knife, not the user himself.
Spring-assists are 100% legal because the opening is triggered by the user moving the blade by himself, the spring doesn't open the knife it ASSISTS in opening it, whereas a switchblade opens because you tell it to by pressing the button. I know, the people who made the law didn't really do their homework.

I have the delica 4 and I have this mod on my knife as well, I have had no problems with it at all! It works every time, like he said, use the smaller ones (the big ones do just as good but are more bulky and look ridiculous) I have two zipties on mine...

In this mod and in the Wave feature the opening is triggered by the user, since he is the one pulling it out and at the same time opening it.
Of course some judges and jurys can decide otherwise.
