My vote would be the Chef. I’m retired and RV a lot. The design serves well around camp and in the kitchen for food prep. Maybe even a bit tactical. It’s kind to my pocket as EDC. One knife does it all FOR ME.
Great - I look forward to your upcoming reviews. I do own a couple of Spidies in the Tenacious line. The Pernacios is one I carry a lot. It certainly doesn't have the thinness of blade as the Chaparral, but because of the blade shape and it being a FFG, it really is a good all around small folder. My other, the Resilience, got much more use as aEDC when I did more camping and was employed as an outdoor cook. It's now my trusty gardening knife, perfect for the job. I'm still Jones-ing for the Chaparral FRN, and I'll undoubtedly pick it up when I return to the States in a month or so. Live your reviews. 👍👍
If I were to buy one more Spyderco folder, it would probably be the Chaparral FRN. Compact, FFG, and most importantly, it's a thin blade. A perfect travel knife and EDC. 🔪😊
I've owned the chaparral frn, dragonfly 2 frn, dragonfly 2 g10, delica, and my spydiechef will be here next week. So far, chap and para 3 are my favorites. I'll put the spydiechef to the test when it arrives.
I carry a tenacious, and while the blade all the way to the handle is cool, it doesn't work well for me, as I use a chef's choice electric sharpener. the handle butts up against the guard, and prevents the full blade from being sharpened. After about two years of carrying and sharpening it, it has a noticeable ledge from the material being removed over time. It's just an aesthetic issue though, and I still carry and use it every day. I plan on soon upgrading to the para 3 blurple, which will alleviate the issue.
Although I had the Manix 2 with m390 and returned it for being too stiff, I think it should be on the list. I think I got a lemon, it just wouldn't break in after hours and hours of fidgeting and adjustment. I ended up with the smurf blue Para 2 with m390 and love it. Looking at the Para 3 lightweight next. I know they're not as popular, but I think once my honeymoon with the Para 2 wears off, my Yojimbo 2 will still be my favorite. At least for fidget factor.
My father gave me an old school Endura that's fully serrated w/ [a] black scales/handle. This'll tell ya' how old school it be; the pocket clip is plastic & is apart of the handle material, a fixed pocket clip if you will. It's real old I guess ya' could say for a Spyderco so the pocket clip has gotten loose over time, it'll still stay clipped to the pocket & slide around just a tiny lil' bit, just don't go wyld somersaulting every step you take in life & it'll stay there.
How ironic that I just purchased another Spyderco today. Looks like you finally got in the Respect bowie and I bought that as quickly as I could today.
The Native5 lightweight fits my " slightly smaller than average" hands ..... Put the Manix lock or compression lock on it and I would be buying a few of those ! ! ! ! !
Chaparral FRN, under 3" with thin XHP blade stock makes for a great slicer. Takes the gentleman carry to EDC carry status in the under $100 bracket. A Nick Shabazz jem and great value for light to mid duty performance. If ever available in LC200N would be another purchase.
Nice vid, and a great list of some of the best Spyderco's. 👍 As I was watching I had laugh because I own at least one of each model you showed us, except the Endura. From all these knives the Delica is the one I like the least, the ergonomics just doesn't work quite well for me. I love my PM2's, P3's, N5's and D2's 😍 They just work for me, awesome cutting tools.
Good overall review I have a question I just bought my first Spyderco knife I bought it online and said it was a tenacious knife with vg10 steel I've been looking all over the Internet and UA-cam I cannot find a video that shows this knife as being made with vg10 steel I bought it from new stock old stock site can someone out there please let me know that Spyderco did make a tenacious knife with vg10 steel thanks a lot
I think just about anything in LC200N is a near perfect blade for anywhere, anytime use. Not for everyone for obvious reasons, the Caribbean fits that description. Spydiechef is also an acceptable answer. Although without a compression lock, which has become my favorite mechanism by far, the Spydiechef loses points to the Caribbean for me. I also think the Shaman was an instant classic. No doubt my favorite hard use folder.
At what point does a Spyderco become a classic? Some of the models that should have become classics in my opinion were discontinued. If they discontinue the Kapara before I get one I’m going to be pissed. Thanks DCA 👍🏻
Good list but none of the Marcin Slysz designs? Not a single titanium frame lock in the list? Not a complete list without the Bowie, Chef or Techno in my humble opinion. Thanks.
The Delica is overpriced because of the competition at lower prices with easier opening, better steels. I own a Delica, myself and don't use it much. I'm really liking the new Smock with it's push button lock. There are loads more Spydercos that are better than many of those you've listed.
Which Delica are you talking about? There are depending on the used blade steal hundreds of different Delica knives. Maybe you used the Delica in British Racing Green handles with the ZAP-189 steal? And trust me. It is wonderfull that you can buy the Delica and Endura in different new powder steals.
Most spidercos suck I wouldn't want any of the short bladed little plastic lightweight over priced junkers . I'm not an office pansy sitting in a stupid cubical. I've never owned a computer in my life. Never needed anything but a smart phone. I'd be breaking those flimsy toy knives. The Para 2 or Para 3 are way to little . I'm anti mini blades I wouldn't purchase either for 25 bucks. These things are only made for finicky people that never leave the city or cut anything more than an envelope. The full size military is only one I'd buy if it wasn't priced twice what it's worth. I've field dresses at least 2 deer a year. My Buck 110 works great and 119 is a slick fixed blade I bought new for $47.00. Also have a Recon 1 as my edc plus the SOCP and Infidel for tactile work.. just purchased a Espada xl and love that beast. It would most likely chop a Para 3 in half with one heavy chop. All those thin dinky spiderco toys. Give me a decent auto cheaper blade for an offi e suit job no k ife laws here . I strap on my cold steel bowie with tie down just to walk to the store
You realize that phones are computers right. Maybe you're just ignorant to the technology that powers the modern world and meant desktop/laptop computer.
Which all time great Spyderco do you this deserves to be on this list?
The police model is my EDC and it is perfectly suited to my needs as a mechanic
Police
That's a hard question, Spyderco PITS I like a lot.
Anything with a 4 inch blade would be a good start.
Why i cant acces your website?!

Manix 2 and/or Manix lightweight should definitely be on the list. Great vid
Cali and manic without a doubt deserve to be on there.
Yeah, manix2 should have been on there.
Just got my para 3 w/ g10 handle in the mail today. Love it. I started with the all steel delica.
Chaparral light weight. My favorite Spyderco EDC. Great XHP steel, feather weight, and great ergonomics.
I Really love all types of Spyderco brand knifes types design!!!
Definitely Spyderco Sage 1....my favorite EDC knife of all time!
Love my PM2 blackened blade and copper scales for my EDC. 👍
I don't know why but I just like this guy. He seems so nice. Consider this video liked.
Sage, Manix, and Shaman possibly deserve a spot on this list.
Manix 2 and Para 3 are my go too knives!
Great video. I would have included the Manix/Manix 2 but other than that spot on.
The Native 5 is really nice.
Another great video. My favourite is the para 3 lightweight, something about that knife just does it for me. I think it's the bugout similarities
Manix 2 my favorite
IMO there’s no better knife for the money than Spydercos, huge selection of styles & steels with exceptional quality.
In the mid range I'd agree with you but spyderco has basically abandoned the budget market entirely. They are super uncompetitive there.
@@Freakmaster480 I have abandoned the budget knife
Have the Native 5 and love it!
Definitely should've included the Manix & Manix 2 (LW frn) or even the plain old Military!
I would love to have a Para 3 in M4, but quite happy with an all black Para 3. In the meantime I love my PM2 in M4 plus my Nirvana & Sage 2.
The Sage is the perfect knife.

It’s a deadly weapon and should be used with instructions. I like your contents. Can you make an instruction video on How To Fold The Karambit?
Love my Rubicon

Manix II missing

I recognize the actor's game of Stanislavsky, the actors are great
I have variants of all those except Native5 and Tenacious. I probably should do something about that.
Lil native is a great 5 pocket carry, mine is s30vn
The Native5 lightweight fits my " slightly smaller than average" hands .....
Put the Manix lock or compression lock on it and I would be buying a few of those ! ! ! ! !
I love my military g10 for EDC

How did the Manix 2 / Ball Lock not make the list???
Nice vid, and a great list of some of the best Spyderco's. 👍

There has never to our knowledge been a Tenacious with VG-10
Why dont you just call spyderco?
I think just about anything in LC200N is a near perfect blade for anywhere, anytime use. Not for everyone for obvious reasons, the Caribbean fits that description. Spydiechef is also an acceptable answer. Although without a compression lock, which has become my favorite mechanism by far, the Spydiechef loses points to the Caribbean for me.

Are these all copies?
The Byrd Raven 2 is a champ.
From Byrd NOT Spyderco
Manix 2 !
Manix 2?
Balance, by it's shape and beautyful in mechanical style. i like the sound when open, shut of para3..
I was sad to see that the stretch didn't make the cut (pun intended). It's my favorite standard Spyderco design, but it's very underrated.
Stretch is better than the Endura.
Yojimbo 2 ftw!
Spydie Chef, my grail EDC.
Gotta agree, I carry mine a lot.
It's supposed to be a kitchen folder but it's a great edc.
Go for the native with lc200n over the dragonfly H1. Trust me.
Will EDC h1 don’t hold an edge very long compared to lc200n right?
We have found that the Edge Retention on lc200n to be notably higher than H1 in general.
All good, but as Americans we don’t really care about the slip joint. Add the Manix2.
Tenacius+compr.lock+D2 steel.
The Ladybug. A great keychain knife.
Manix 2 lightweight
The Native 5 is the only spyderco I like. It's the only one on the list that I believe looks nice.
Manix 2 reg.

For some reason... I cant go left hand carry on my Raven 2.
The holes are there, but they aren't tapped. Kinda put me off on Spyderco.
Jester in better steel please
Manix 2XL
Spyderco Shaman
how dare you do this Spyderco vid without the best one the Manix 2
You and your tiny hands :)) you make that endura look like the freakin ladybug..........Sasquatch! :))
Manix and shaman
dude i like you more and more :)
No Manix 2? Tf
"David Boyd dent", as in the lawyer David Boyd?
David Boye, the knife maker.
@@knifecenter Oh ok, I thought maybe it was added because of a lawsuit of some type, but he is such a high profile lawyer it seemed unlikely.
I would like to see the Native 5 S90V on this list…just saying. L 👍👍

Where is the Ladybug and Manbug?
mannix 2
Is it me or do Spyderco handles look like cheap plastic?
Shaman
Stretch
Yo Jimbo2
Ukpk...yuck!
Ever used one?
YoJimbo2 and Spydiechef.

Bench made bugout just saying.. should be on every list even if it not a spiderco lol
