I had an 80cc Gemini that I got new around 1973. It had a speedo which maxed out at about 40mph. It was dependable - Just frequent spark plug changes. The 4 speed was not fast from a dead stop. I don't remember mixing the gas - I think it had a oil mix tank.
I had one of these in blue when I was a kid in Wisconsin. All of us kids had little 50cc bikes we cruised around on. This was in the early 80s. Awesome little bike! Good luck with yours!
Bloody great present! Sweet as machine.I Asked your bro(comments) whether he could take the camera for a little ride around the bush, when I saw a dirtbike in the background. Love it.
G'day Gary. I had my old man's boss from 45 years ago ring up yesterday and asked to drop past his workshop to give advice about straightening a chassis and not being there probably 2 x times in 43 years showed me his collection of old e types jags a xb gs ute ect and in the corner hiding was the same green sst you have he bought new. Still with rego plate lights ect. Asked if it was for sale but he's on the fence having it for so long. Thanks for the info.👍
Yes it is a 50cc the seller told me it was and 80cc but I found out later on it was a 50cc. It certainly is quick! Thanks for the heads up about the fenders
Hey mate we had the gem 50 purple , past down from 3 older brothers it was the old man’s before us , it had speedometer blinkers , Break lights numberplate unbreakable little Machine bloody ripper 👍👍👍
They’re a cool little bike. I was told it was a 70 when I bought it. But after some research it turns out it’s a 50. I have seen them like that and have seen them in other countries like that with licence plates!
I have 4 Gemini / SST mini bikes. The brand cover several “badges”. Gemini, SST (parent company and first name), Deltek and Maverick. Made in Taiwan in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Yamaha based engines. Not just the head either. Almost all of the engine was Yamaha, only the outer cases really differ. Way faster than the famous Honda Z50 but not as good quality wise. They never ever made a 70cc version, they made 50’s, 65’s and 80cc mini bikes. They also made some bigger trail and small road bikes. And yes Yamaha gave them trouble… I learnt to ride on a green Gemini 50 in the 1970’s and have now restored 4. We have a good Facebook Gemini page. Parts are rare and the frames are weak, but they’re fun…
They’re a neat little bike. I try and buy them as I find them. I lucked out with this. I was at the blokes place buying car parts and came home with it.

Nice I got a frame of a Gemini at a swap meet sort thing for 50 bucks and I'm glad to learn more about it
Got a few of them. The one you have there is a 50cc. Quick little bikes. By the way, front fender is on the back and the back on the front.
