Today we are analyzing the character traits of Frieza, Cell and Buu from Dragonball Z to figure out who was ultimately the most evil villain in the original anime and manga!

Frieza had a choice for redemption several times, he kept being evil, cell was programmed evil so he didn’t have much a choice, and kid buu is a psychotic mindless destroyer and was born evil so he didnt have a choice, however the fact that innocent buu turned good shows that buu isnt 100% evil (not necessarily kid buu, but buu in general)
The only reason the good buu existed was because the Kai’s so no buu never had any good if not for the Kai’s

@spooderderg4077 You're completely ignoring that Frieza was raised to be completely evil, it's even insinuated to be a societal norm and point of status for his race to be cold, tyrannical, and evil. This would suggest that Frieza never really had a choice either.
Just a little thought experiment to see how they'd react to an ant hill;
Cell would play with the the ants but give them an ultimatum.
Buu would destroy it, just because it's there.
Frieza would order slaves to pour molten lead into the colony so he can sell it as a piece of abstract art. All while giggling to himself.

Frieza is most evil by choice.
But Kid Buu is most evil by nature.
Cell had a lot of evil in him, but he did have a weirdly honorable side as well.
Then again, Kid Buu had a tiny little bit of goodness in him that allowed him to be reincarnated. I doubt Frieza has any such goodness.
Frieza actively refused to repent, so he couldn't reincarnate.

Buu has no goodness in his heart, think that was a wish, but kid buu is the personification of chaotic evil

@@Goji-Cwhile Kid Buu clearly does have his own consciousness he's still a mass of negative energy and pure evil balled up into a single vessel. He doesn't have the choice to be good because he's literally an incarnation of pure destruction.
I don't know why (probably because I have seen DBZA to many times) but every 3rd "evil" I hear in this video makes me hear Goku: "Awww that's not really nice." Vegeta:"Of course not I AM F***ING EVIL" hahaha
Cell is interesting is that while a lot of his evil is how he was designed, a fair bit is by choice. Android 16 is kind of a foil of him since they are both designed to be living weapons with a murderous endgame, but 16 comes to value life while Cell doubles down on his design

I fully believe that if Cell ever came back he would be redeemed, he never had any explicitly evil goals and just had a superiority complex which was ultimately crushed. I think if he came back he would just focus on becoming the strongest being for the sake of it

@@kR-qj7rwVegeta and cell aren't comparable as being the same level as evil, both may be comparable in wanting/believing themselves to be the best but that's around where the similarities on that stops.
Vegeta cared about the thrill of the fight, the challenge, testing his own power.
Cell might enjoy testing his own power because of some of his saiyan cells but he cares more about causing fear.

I sort of disagree with this because i believe that the superiority complex he had was from his Frieza cells. When you really look at Cell acts, he sort of mirrors Frieza more than most think. His more gentleman-like mannerisms, constantly looking down on others, and he also finds amusement through torture, let when he tortured Gohan and when he tortured the Z-fighters with the Cell Jrs. Now, he isn't the exact same as Frieza due to the Saiyans inside him making him crave battle. But i don't see that really helping the case that he would be redeemed. Especially given the fact that Goku didn't even give Cell a chance to live, considering what happened with Frieza prior.
Probably frieza tbh, frieza not only destroyed many planets but STRAIGHT UP enslaved and tortured many planets.let’s be honest here, cell is no where near as heartless as frieza and buu as he at least gave the earth a fighting chance via the cell games, he even spared trunks in there initial fight (even tho cell killed him much later on but he did say it was an accident).
instead, going by DnD alignments, I think Cell is Neutral Evil, Frieza is Lawful Evil, and Buu is Chaotic evil.

kid buu is literally pure evil tho and he definitely looked like he enjoyed killing and beating people down (went to heaven and hell to kill people because he knew they'd be gone permanently)

Pretty sure Cell enjoyed killing people but that’s more due to his ego and the boost he got showcasing how his “perfect” self stood above lesser beings. Frieza though…he just liked seeing people suffer

Buu is not the small, pure glass of water. Buu is the giant barrel of pure water while Frieza is the glass of salt water.
The fact that Frieza can be reasoned with to do good things is proof that he is nowhere near as evil as Buu.
I feel like the best way to compare frieza to buu is a toddler vs a grown adult. Frieza knows what he’s doing is wrong and enjoy ever moment of it buu just mindless toddle who can’t really think are grasp why it’s bad but an adult (for most cases) you would expect to know better.

Frieza has a moral compass. He can be reasoned with. he chooses to do the bad thing, when he could've done good. Cell with work with you, If you have what he wants, but regarless, he'll do the bad thing-cause thats what he wants.
Buu does not see a good option-good does not exist for him. He literally IS EVIL. He is the incarnation of EVIL, not just nature.

in my opinion Kid Buu is not the most evil of the Buus, he is simply the most dangerous.
Buu I think is far more evil than Freiza. Freiza In the top was willing to eliminate himself, meaning no wish for him, just to eliminate jiren and help his universe win. Kid buu would just kill everyone. More evil.
Yeh, but the theme of the TOP was trust. He trusted Goku to revive him wish was he entire reason for being in the TOP. If he hadn’t he surely would’ve died by eliminating himself his chances for life were greater. It wasn’t completely a selfless act.
Did we forget the guy was having a good time torturing the yadrat in the top. The only reason he sacrificed himself was to be wished backed only for his on selfish need. Earlier before the tournament he was killing and tormenting the assassin for fun.

Buu was never in the running in my opinion. Yes, he committed acts of evil and perhaps even took pleasure in it, but most critically he lacks the capacity to understand the meaning of evil itself. He just destroys things because he can. There is no meaning to it. As you and many others succinctly put it “he’s more of a force of nature than evil”.
Frieza and Cell though purposely brought pain and suffering onto others which is actual evil. But that’s just my opinion
Wouldn't that also kinda go for Cell too? He was litterly programmed to achive his goal of being perfect like a computer, he never had a choice until he reached his Perfect form, after that it changes and I can see that being HIM who decides how it should be BUT he also mellows out a fair bit (compared to how he acted as imperfect and semiperfect) once he goes perfect.
Frieza had multiple chances to be good yet allways chooses the evil options, takig plesure in enslaving/murdering entire civilizations just because he want to.

Frieza loves the act of domination. Any possible form of domination gets his rocks off. Cell would be content in knowing he has achieved his goal of being the ultimate lifeform. Outside of that, he wouldn't touch a lifeform unless challenged. Super Buu killed all life on earth because he was challenged to do so before given what he wants. Kid Buu would annihilate all life as a by-product of knowing no limits. Frieza takes the cake because he would not be happy unless inflicting horror on all life. It's one thing to kill everything and be alone, like Buu. But it's another to kill the hope of everyone, which is Frieza's actual goal. Complete supremecy

I think each should be ranked x out 40, meaning each type of evil should be out of 10. It is more subjective but might put Goku above Buu or Cell.
There's obviously a lot of nuance in all of these arguments, but I think one of the biggest points is that Buu performs the most deliberate acts that people would consider evil, but has no established definition of good or evil. I would personally align that with Thanos' representation of evil, as Buu performs evil out of a mental necessity rather than a want. This does open a new bag of worms, however, of whether Frieza or Buu are "more" evil, which depends on how much you believe the intention to perform evil affects a person's morality.
Kid Buu lacks the sadism to properly embody evil. More of an animalistic aggression and an enjoyment of destructive violence which both relate to his low intelligence.
If he did properly embody evil he would top the list by necessity.

kid buu was a killing machine that needed to be sealed away to prevent further destruction. the only reason a good buu exists is because buu had eaten powerful goodly being until he was twisted to somthing that could be redeemed, but the real buu is so irredeemably evil that when good buu decided to remove the evil inside he it then lost to the evil copy. when the chance appeared to kill buu they did exactly that. there was no attempt to spare heck goku even whent into a speech as to why it had to die
frieza was just a genocidal tyrant, goku nearly spared him and ultimately only thought he was dead. what he did was terrible but buu did all that and more the only reason buu was stopped was due to the DBZ cast meanwhile frieza would have been stopped by somone else eventually.(maybe broly lol)
People keep saying Kid Buu is a force of nature but forget about Fat Buu being the good part of Buu and the evil Buu being more of his evil nature. As Super Buu he chooses to do evil. Kid Buu legit forces fat Buu out of him later on and chooses to enjoy his evil acts. A force of nature just does things based off instinct.
Good Buu is just the Grand Supreme Kai, Good Buu and Kid Buu start as seperate people all the other buus are different combinations of those 2

I think kid buu is more sentient than he looks. He looks very happy when inflicting pain and his methods look elaborated enough to imply an understanding of good and evil. If he was just a force of nature he would just kill people without enjoying himself. I guess is up to you if you think an evil inteligent person is more evil than an evil stupid person

Buu is like a child, he is shown that he can be influenced to be good and have an understanding on what's good if given someone that will teach...
Buu is more of a force of nature. One cannot define such a being as evil. Cell was evil but more of a programmed tyoe, like a genetic imprinted evil. Frieza demonstrates volitional evil.
The force of nature argument I feel falls apart when you remember that buu actively takes joy in hurting people (Goku begging him not to destroy earth, and mr satan begging for his life). Also we get to see his thought process when he absorbs people who are pure of heart. He is very aware that he is hurting people, the “he is not aware” is headcanon which I would think people believe because he doesn’t speak and behaves like a child, but I would argue he is aware of what he’s doing.
Also the topic becomes more complex as frieza is more sadistic and is more aware than buu in his nature, but buu while still aware has done far worse even under pure good influence (absorbing people who are pure of heart).
Kid Buu enjoying it moreso comes from the fact that he is a force of nature. He is aware that he is evil but still he doesn't have the capacity for good because he is literally just evil making him a force of nature. He knows nothing more than evil and of course he revals in it.

I would say buu cause he was just unbridled evil. Frieza is evil but has submitted to Goku and beerus because they are stronger than him but buu had no concept of that. Kid buu would have destroyed the entire universe for no reason. Frieza just wanted to rule the universe not destroy it.

If Kid Buu isn't evil, the Devil isn't evil either. Embodying evil is the worst one can get. Frieza's evil was also massively retconned by Super after his worst action turned out to be an order from Beerus and he was gladly teaming up with the Z-fighters in the TOP without any plan to sabotage it.
You forget that Frieza likes to torture his victims, and this video forgets that he also killed the namekians in brutal fashion by ordering his subordinates. Super only states that Beerus was going to destroy Planet Vegeta anyways had Frieza never done it. It doesn't say anything about Frieza being ordered to destroy it. Plus. DBSuper ruins a lot of things about the Dragon Ball lore anyways.
For me before i watch the video, i say buu for the fact he has no motive for doing the things he done and laughs and dont take anything seriously. Frieza may wiped out an entire race and rule over the galaxy but he has a soft spot for the genyu force and king cold

Vegeta: raised and culturally influenced to be evil.
Frieza: evil for the sake of his own self interest and expansion.
Cell: the choice to be evil.

It seems that by these sorts of definitions of evil, the vast majority of real human beings are, to some degree, evil. I don't disagree, and I acknowledge I also commit evil acts. Mostly in the form of giving into some of my vices and probably some repudiative evil.
