    1. Girls at 0:26 see that something is going on due to crowd gathered.
    2. Take selfies for next 45 seconds so they can brag on social media "they were there" and "oh wow this was interesting!"
    3. Leave immediately.
    I often wonder how many people in my generation would accept an all expenses paid trip to their hand-picked destinations around the world IF they weren't allowed to take any pictures or mention it anywhere on social media. Probably wouldn't be worth "just experiencing it" for most if they couldn't post about it and rub it in other people's faces.

    For Magnus, playing bullet against a 2000 ELO is like a 2000 ELO playing blitz against someone who basically all but knows how the pieces move. Using intuition and pattern recognition, Magnus instantly moves and then uses the extra time to analyze the position more deeply as his opponent considers a move which has already been seen, calculated, and compensated for. It's a slaughter fest, the opponent never has a chance.

    • @plukerpluck
      @plukerpluck 7 років тому +56

      Due to the way Elo works (it's not all caps btw) we can actually give numbers. Magnus is ‎2840 right now. That's 840 above 2000. So it's the same as if a 2000 player plays a 1160 player.

    • @Whootzzz

      Sammy Gillespie
      Elo doesn't increase linearly. It gets increasingly harder to get higher the higher you see.

    • @plukerpluck
      @plukerpluck 7 років тому +58

      Lets say I'm using a k=32 Elo system (fairly common). I'm rated 2000 and my opponent is too. If I win, I will gain 16 Elo. If I was rated 1200 and so was my opponent then I would gain 16 Elo.
      It only becomes harder to gain because:
      A) You are playing people worse than you more often as you get higher (less people above you)
      B) You are losing more because you're playing better people
      If someone 100 Elo above me is X times better then someone 300 Elo above me is X^3 times better, no matter what my current Elo is.
      Note: That's not linear

    Carlsen used 3 min and 21 seconds to beat Monsen, the trick to blitz chess is to think when your opponent is thinking, need not say it does require a great amount of experience and skill.

      They're playing a game called Chess. They have a limited time to play. The one on the right had 2min30 to play while the one on the left (Magnus Carlsen) is currently the best in the world so he had 30 seconds to beat his opponent. Every time they click on the timer, it indicates that they made a move so it stops their timer and starts the other player's timer.

Ben would play " Blindfold speed " He took 1 minute for himself, and gave his opponent 5. Ben had someone call moves and hit his clock. He never lost. He won all his games outright or he won on time. It was a joy to watch.

      other things crossing Canada by dog sledge, canoing and by foot from west to east. He has also crossed
      Norway on foot from south to north(which due to hilly and forrest terrain is extremely tough and the distance
      will be almost the same as crossing the US from south to north) Lars is actually a decent chess player
      although I dont believe his rating is as high as ELO 2000
