Arrows are good for beginners, but if you really want to get better at chess you should try to memorize the squares ranks and files so that you can eventually grow some balls.
It's so funny how Magnus goes "now that I think about it" after explaining several different scenarios for pretty much every move. It's incredible how immediate the options come to him.
Imagine stressing out playing a 3200 GM, and thinking the long pause after your move means you stumped them only to later find out they were just doing a tutorial video.
No human has a rating as high as 3200, and if anyone ever achieves that high a rating they would be regarded as a super-grandmaster. Stockfish is, of course, even higher at about 3600 rating, and would be considered as being at ultra-grandmaster level.
@@johnb6723 Can you not see the video, with the worlds best player currently having that rating, at least on this website?Obviously his on the table rating is what, 2700+? Not 3200, but in-game, that's still insane and very scary. Since most players are at sub 1000.

watching Magnus flip the switch at the end from playing strategically for the endgame advantage to mating within a few moves -- absolute killer instinct. I'm by no means a good chess player, but even still my brain struggles to hold the ability to calculate multiple win conditions like that at the same time. we are so lucky to live at a time where all time greats can play and provide commentary in real time for the whole world to see.

Magnus is a real genius - the ease with which he explains move and is in control of his own game simultaneously is quite something to see. He certainly make this win seem and sound very easy - have played this kind of game 100s of times...his opponent also played quite well - but Magnus thinks like a GM all the time !!!...
It is hard to say who the GOAT is imagine if Fisher had the resources that Magnus has today to practice his game. Magnus is the highest rated ever with a lot of modern help.
@@jnormanton I agree Fischer should have been higher in peak ELO, which is a contemporaneous relative rating system whereas due to computers helping chess MC is better in terms of moves he makes vs Bobby's.

Carlsen always makes it look way too easy.. I just imagine him being this professor of a certain subject, explaining all the intricacies of the topic in a very comprehensive way that will be understable to anyone who has surface knowledge about the subject.

The fish did not like Magnus suggested move. Not even top 3. To anyone curious: stockfish suggested Na4 as top move with Nd1 as alternative. Nd5 would take position from +2 to +0,5

I love the fact Magnus explains the moves....it really helps me to understand the positions much better
Other chess players like Hikaru they also show the moves by arrow which makes it even easier to understand at least for me as a beginner.

You play against humans, not engines. Engines calculate the best move under assumption that the opponent also makes the best engine move too.
