I carried a Colt Combat Commander .45 in Satin Nickel nearly 50 years ago. The previous owner had the barrel ramped and polished, and added an adjustable skeletonized trigger and ambidextrous speed safeties. I added rubber Pachmyr grips that wrapped over the front strap -- loved that pistol! Never any failures to feed, whether shooting FMJ range ammo or various JHP defensive rounds. Loved the Satin Nickel finish -- never any rust even after a long sweaty day in an IWB holster. Sold all of my guns about 35 years ago when the kids were getting big enough to get up to trouble. Wish I still had them.
Doing some research and came across your vid. In your range work did you shoot hollow points? Is there a preferred brand and gr weight? The one mag on video appeared loaded with hp's. Do you have a preferred magazine in 9mm? Great job on the updates. I'm learning. Nice piece. Great info.
Hey, I really enjoy your videos. Been going back and forth between the Colt Combat Commander, and the Fusion Combat Commander, both in 9mm. I have a Colt Government size 1911 that runs great, but I handled a couple of others at a lgs that weren’t very impressive, without shooting them of course. With that being said, I love my Colt, but I’m leaning towards the Fusion this time around. I’m likely going to have to order either one, sight unseen. Thoughts?
Ok like all the mods except the2 1/2 lb trigger, that is stupid. If your using the gun for target only that's one thing, but for self defence absolutely to light and you will end up in trouble when the court sees you modifided the trigger so low. When your in life and death combat and your scared for your life, as you should be no training in the world is going to allow you to feel the difference in a light triger and your going to double if not tripple tap accidentlty and the court will convict you of man slaughter. Trigger smoothness is better than weight. Best combat trigger weight ive noticed is no lighter than 4 pounds. Trust me. Was in rapid shooting combat sotuations after a mod, it was scary how i couldnt control the fact i eas double tapping, tactile functioning gors ib combat. This is just soundad advice friend to friend.
It's so cool you are doing this for your grandson.

Sounds like a sweet gun!
Yeah, bet you wish you’d just taught them gun safety instead.
You are such a likeable man. I wish you were my neighbor lol. That is awesome you are doing that for your grandson.
Kudos for the solid trigger
Enjoyed your video. Any advice for a noob on the choice between a 9mm commander over the.45?

Fusion builds a good gun for the money but you can always sell a Colt and get your money back. Not so much with a Fusion
Good point! Definitely something to consider. Thanks for the response!
Are these coming with ramped barrels yet?
No. No need if it’s built right. If it’s an aluminum frame that’s a different story.
Modern Colt quality left me disappointed too. Went Les Baer and never looked back.
Love me some Les Baers!!
Aren’t you special
DanWesson no mims
