I found a nestling dove and now he is my pet all you need to do is look up how to care for it and how to identify the bird and you can keep it don’t listen to them a fledgling is better off with you than in the wild I tried this with a robin fledgeling and it was killed so when I got the dove I kept it and he is doing fine
You know accept for the fact its kind of illegal to take animals from the wild unless it is injured, and should then be re released as soon as possible, because it is a wild animal
Yes this always confused me also why they say that it has a better chance of surviving in the wild!!!! No, this is only true if you have no idea what to do with a baby bird. As long as you keep a sanitary environment and you feed the baby a well rounded diet, that bird has a much higher chance at surviving with you.

@@Natevdww Hi there! Good luck with your new baby. The most important thing is to keep the little one warm. I used a heating pad on low. I put a small towel over it and made a little nest out of a wash rag on top of it. They need to be fed very frequently around the clock. For the first few weeks I fed every hour to hour and a half. Soak some dog food in a little warm water and mash it up. Mix in a tiny amount of baby food with meat and fruit and vegetables. I used the small end of a chop stick to feed. At first it is very easy for them to aspirate water into their lungs. There will be enough moisture in the food. At night I set an alarm for 2 to 2 1/2 hours to feed. I hope this helps!!!
I just want to say i did everything correct, i was even co parenting with his parents for a week. I was so proud that he finally flew away! We were so proud and even teared with joy, until literally within two seconds being on the ground a huge fking rat came out of no where and attacked, killed and carried off charlie in his mouth. No joke! I was traumatized and cried for 3 days straight!
Watched a baby bird get his foot stuck in the nest this morning on my porch. He was struggling so much, so I finally tried to get him unstuck. When I finally did, I tried to get him back into the nest, he was like no! Then his sibling popped out over the top of my hand and can’t fly, but fluttered to the ground. The first guy sat on the nest and then down he went to the ground too. This was all in the yard where my dogs live, so I can’t leave the babies on the ground for long. Now I have two baby finches in a cage in my bathroom and there’s so much conflicting information online! I hope baby bird number three stays in nest so my dogs don’t get it. 😫

I have found a baby thrust that, after looking at your clip, is about 3-4 weeks old. I've been feeding it warms & slugs (freshly killed and cut into pieces), and very ripe raspberry pieces. It is going to the toilet about every couple of hours and looks healthy; opens it's beak for food and hops around on my hands. Is the food I'm feeding it okay?
This lady is giving very conflicting advice from what other experts say. If it's a fledgling and hopping around and healthy you're supposed to leave it alone. Birds have a variety of different diets. Formulas are not good for some. Some eat worms some don't etc. Plus they can get water in their lungs etc. Take the bird to a licensed wild life person. If it doesn't have feathers put it back in the nest or make a nest out of a small container with grass and tie it near the original nest. The parents will feed it.

I'm glad I couldn't find my Nest to put him back for her back into because the next day the whole mess was toppled upside down and the babies were all dead so had I returned her to her nest she would be dead too. I've had her since Thursday. I also tried waiting around to see if the parents were around and nobody came. So I'm not sure if the nest was destroyed because of a squirrel attack or some other bird attack, or any other reason. I know it wasn't weather-related because it wasn't windy that day at all and it hadn't stormed that day so usually my city is very windy. But, Thursday was a really nice afternoon very hot in Great Falls Montana with very little wind. So I'm not sure what happened to the little baby and why he got kicked out of the nest first or how he got just out of the nest. But I believe his parents that the abandoning thing. So I waited around for the parents I called the wildlife orphanage place and nobody's answered me so I've literally been trying to care for her ever since. I got a cage so I can put her out with other birds without her being unsafe but she'll be able to observe and listen and talk to other birds. I've also read that perhaps the mom and dad will find her or maybe another Mom and Dad will find her from another nest and think that it's theirs and will adopt her and feed her to the cage anyway so either way she's going to be good and get socialisation but still have the safety of me watching over here and feeding her and making sure that she's warm at night by herself and of course I've been responsible for all of her feeding. She loves flies. I went and got some relatively inexpensive vitamin drops for small birds at Walmart it was under $3 and you add one drop to 1 oz of water so I'm soaking her flies and whatever I feed her like mealworms eventually I got her mealworms but I've been other ways hunting for bugs like a mommy bird looking under rocks and getting a rolly pollies that they can eat and that are fortunately very abundant in my house although they are not as nutritious as other choices. But they got us by until I figure out what else to do. The wildlife orphanage place still has not called me back so I don't know what is going on with that organization. I'm not sure exactly where to take her so I'll just care for her myself and try to introduce her to the Wild and see what I'm doing even though it's a felony to keep a wild bird I don't plan on keeping her I'm trying to release her so I hope it's okay. Anyways good luck to all and I wish you all well and I wish your little fledgling and birds you find a happy life! Thanks for the video!
I like this video because I found a bird and we took care of it because he was hurt and then we just to get back outside and it didn't want to leave so we just kept him and we found him on April and we still have him from August I know wow right and I love him very much but I don't know what kind of bird it is or if its a girl or a boy

Found a baby bird yesterday and the nest was too high and I picked up the baby with my bandana and wrapped it up and brought him to the house trying to figure out wtf to do with the baby because it was soooo fuckin cute and I just couldn't leave it to die and it was just looking into my eyes like help me please and we fed the baby a few found worms we mashed and then threw the baby a few times as it flapped it's wings better each time. I the realized this baby was probably learning to fly and was left alone and we took him to a nearby park and threw the baby three times. At the Third time the baby seemed to actually be flying although it landed on a fence and I had to leave the baby because I had to take my ex gf kids back to the house before it got too late. I then went back to the park and the baby was gone. I truly have faith we save this baby and that once we Left it flew away finally 🥺 I still wonder if the baby is flying. It was sooo cute and seemed to trust and like me. It was even purched up on my hands and didn't wanna let go. Fly High Baby Bird 🕊️ I love you 🥺❤️
We just found a bird like the one u have looks the same but he has no eyes been caring for him for 3 days can u plz plz message us or pm us so we can get a lil help from anyone plz
We found the baby but it’s parents weren’t around and the baby was under a tree stump; we assume when our neighbors cut down the tree the nest fell and the poor birds passed away.
Hi, thanks for the video. Please don't use 'baby' as its confusing. Nestlings need to go back in nest but Fledglings need to be put in a nearby tree/bush/wall and wait and watch for parents and that they feed them. If no parents after 2 hours watch then take to someone who knows what to do. Don't give water unless you check bird mouth anatomy. Too easy to get water into lungs. Thanks to all who help birds!x
If you put them back in the nest and the mama bird comes back the mama bird will smell the scent of human and go away and leave the bird today so you probably shouldn’t do that
I got four baby wren's.. they are so tiny? And fragile.. found them day before yesterday.. not a feather on them.. Been feeding them moths and crickets and other small insects I can catch in my moth traps that I set out for my frogs.. They were so dehidrated and lathargic. I did give them some water. And then started giving them some boost energy drink in an eye dropper. They have perked up and now are eating machines.. I sure hope I can keep up.. so far so good.. there feathers are growing out fast in just two days..
Boost is what they give babies and elderly for vitamins. I only have been giving it to the for a day. Just till I can get some crickets meal works and wax works from Petco..
your doing great. feed them mealworms every 20-30 mins for the first 2 weeks then increase time to 30-45 mins. if you need anymore help you can just let me know. make sure they stay warm too

The best thing u can do with wild birds is to get them to a wildlife rehabber asap!!

The fledging bird I have has a scissors peak, if I take him to a wild life rehabilitation center do you think they would euthanize him? Thanks
That bird was a fledgling
Yes good job
When I feed mine the formula comes out the sides of its been but it seems to be swallowing a little bit and they aren’t screaming anymore after I feed it they go to sleep I have them rapped in one of my jackets to keep them warm and there in a squarish bag that can u opened and closed i down fully close it I put the lid over them so they don’t get scared but I found them today they seem to be doing fine
I truly have faith we save this baby and that once we Left it flew away finally 🥺
I still wonder if the baby is flying. It was sooo cute and seemed to trust and like me. It was even purched up on my hands and didn't wanna let go. Fly High Baby Bird 🕊️
I love you 🥺❤️
I found five baby birds in the open without any other birds around..?
Thank you!!!!!!!
We just found a bird like the one u have looks the same but he has no eyes been caring for him for 3 days can u plz plz message us or pm us so we can get a lil help from anyone plz
my cat attacked a bird here trying to find out what to do he won’t eat
We found the baby but it’s parents weren’t around and the baby was under a tree stump; we assume when our neighbors cut down the tree the nest fell and the poor birds passed away.

What to do when you find one half dead under your table that your cat drug in & is still half alive.. PLEASE help me I just woke up to this:(
There's a puncture wound in it's stomach I think it's a finch..
@@caseyjomarcy927 is it still alive?
You don't give baby birds liquid. Mashed cat food with applesauce is great. These animals are wild, they are not human infants.

I used a heating pad underneath the nest I made

No but I found a bird getting killed so I quickly got it
Please I can't tell the age of this bird . When I found her she had balls on her toes and idk what it is. And it's not flying
It was a booboo I think she said
Irresponsible to keep saying hot water, seven eleven hot wat with a cloth, no water on bird !
4:02 bird shits directly on her floor they say nothing😂
The bird shits on her hand so many times but she doesn’t mind it 😂
24 hours not 1
If you put them back in the nest and the mama bird comes back the mama bird will smell the scent of human and go away and leave the bird today so you probably shouldn’t do that
Jim Younkin that's a myth, birds cant actually smell very well
If you're not a licensed bird rehabber, don't give out information.
Just till I can get some crickets meal works and wax works from Petco..
your doing great. feed them mealworms every 20-30 mins for the first 2 weeks then increase time to 30-45 mins. if you need anymore help you can just let me know. make sure they stay warm too
also don't give them water. if they are dehydrated then soak some kitten food in warm water. and give them small bits of that.
@@jackrudden5970 I have 4 baby wrens I've had for 2 days. I've been feeding them wet cat food and eggs. They seem lethargic to me, can I feed them a supplement of some kind? They are very tiny nestlings with barely any feathers and their eyes are still closed.
@@laurenmansfield690 its best to take them to a listened wildlife rehabber. its agains federal lawton raise wild animals without a permit. the food they need is not available to the public. unfortunately, the information in this video is only suitable for a very small amount of birds and wrens are not included.
