Hi, i need some clarification here. When you print in High Quality mode like matte printing option, the printer mixes the color inks to produce black isn't it. Then it only uses the black ink when in normal or draft printing right? So what if you just put white ink in where the black is supposed to be and print as greyscale when you want white and high quality option to get all other colors ? I don't know if I'm making sense here.
@@princedube8332 your making perfect sense but at some point you will have to power clean the printer and I just don't want to run the risk of colour going through the print head.. I still run full colour prints to make sure all the jets stay clog free. You could do it your way but personally I wouldn't run the risk of colours mixing :)
Do you have a update on how this is working? Any problems with white ink or clogging. and how the images hold up after washing since it has been a couple months since this was posted please?

Once pressed to fabric, how does the print feel on the shirt? Does it feel like a screenprint or is it heavy-handed and feels kinda crunchy, like a heat-transfer iron-on print? Thanks.

@@Ninkies69 good morning I have looked at both printers and from what I can see they will both be fine for the DTF ink :)
@@CraftedCustomCreations 👍😁 Thanks again for the assistance much appreciated.
@@Ninkies69 no problem 😁
Hi is it possible for me to use a brand new ecotank printer other than Epson? For the white ink?
@@g-force1699 hi thanks for your question. Unfortunately the answer is we don't know because we have only tried Epson and canon but definitely do not try using a canon printer. If the printer you have can use sublimation ink then it can use DTF ink. But that's all we can say as we don't want people ruining their printers on our say so. Sorry we can't be of more help with this.
@@CraftedCustomCreations no thanks totally understand 💯 but am I correct all ink used is dtf?
@@g-force1699 yes it's all DTF ink :)
I had this idea I just didn’t have it in me to do this with a printer. So just to make sure , 2 printers, one with cmyk dtf and the other with white dtf. For the white drf printer? Do you just use the same settings since it would be printing the exact same image but white? Not understanding the white drf part? You did greyscale? Why not just print twice once with color then once again but in the white toner printer hope I’m making sense
@@andrewnegru hi thanks for watching the print settings determine how thick the ink is and because it's layed you want the white layer to be as thin as possible that's why we print the way we do you could do it the way your saying but the ink would be thicker so the image on the shirt would be thicker. I hope this helps :)
Got it understood so then for the second print do you make it all grayscale? Does that use every single ink cartridge?
@@andrewnegru it will use other colours when it detects shading but I run a normal print everyday just to keep the jets running freely.
@@CraftedCustomCreations OK got it understand
WOW! So no need to go buy those expensive DTF printers then. 1 Question though, doesn't the printer with all white ink clog ? If it does, how frequently does it do so and how do you unclog it? Thank you so much by the way. Love from Zimbabwe!
@@princedube8332 hi we run a few prints every day to keep the jets free and we physically pick the printer up and shake it on a morning lol we have had no issues upto now lol
Is there a cover attached to the headpress on the top inside
@@g-force1699 no we just line it with parchment paper.
You could do it your way but personally I wouldn't run the risk of colours mixing :)
what kind of ink do you use for the colored print? Is it Dye, Pigment, Sublimation or what?
@@edwin-villapando hi no it's DTF ink.
Do you have a update on how this is working? Any problems with white ink or clogging. and how the images hold up after washing since it has been a couple months since this was posted please?
@@peachescream8650 hi and thanks for your questions. So the single layer prints have held up fine.. the colour printed on to the white has had about a 90% success rate. The 2 layed one so pressing the white then pressing the colour on top has about a 65% success rate... The next thing we are doing is buying more expensive ink and powder as we used the cheapest ones we could find to try it out the first time. I hope this helps :)
@ ok awesome
Thank you for the wonderful response!
Once pressed to fabric, how does the print feel on the shirt? Does it feel like a screenprint or is it heavy-handed and feels kinda crunchy, like a heat-transfer iron-on print? Thanks.
@@deejaydiabolic so the double print is like a screen print but the double layer feels more like HTV
@@CraftedCustomCreations appreciate the response 👍
@@deejaydiabolic no problem :)
How long do you normally wait yo do the double print?
@@g-force1699 take the colour off the printer cure it for 10 seconds and straight into the white printer :)
What about the white ink settling. I have tried this by doing the white by hand.
@@juliefitzhenry1443 as long as you give the printer a shake every day and run a couple of prints it's ok :)
This is what I was thinking about trying. How did you do it? Did you paint it on the transfer sheet after using sublimation ink on the transfer sheet? What's your process?
@@kendrakendrakendra3853 we painted it by hand first and the brush strokes show In the print
Hi guys how are you? Came across your page on UA-cam will watching some video on DTF Printing. Oh and just want to say I'm from South Africa. I want to ask you do you think I will be able to use the Epson L121 EcoTank A4 singlefunction USB Printer? One DTF Printers will only be filled with the white ink and the other printer with the remaining colours for the DTF. And do I need to take out any thing like for instance the middle rollers to avoid smear marks or not? And will I be able to use Coreldraw Graphics to create my prints?, Looking forward to hearing from you guys. Thank you in advance..
@@Ninkies69 hi ive just had a quick look at the L121 that will be fine to use as for the rollers we've only had one print where the rollers were an issue. Our rollers are still in so I would try it with them in first and see what you think. Coral draw will be fine to use as long as you install the whole Epson software package as that will handle the print properties so coral draw doesn't have too. :)
@@CraftedCustomCreations Is the Epson Software Package and extra download I will need or will this be there after setup and everything? Sorry for all the questions but I want to do this the right way from the beginning.
@@Ninkies69 it will all be on the installation cd that comes with the printer 😁

Would an ET-2400 work for this as well? I cannot find the ET-1810 in the US
@@CrazyRedBug the 2400 isn't available in the UK I've looked at the specs tho and it should be fine :)
@@CraftedCustomCreations Thank you so much! I want to try this but don't want to splurge on the 8500 right out of the gate if I'm gonna hate it. Thank you for this video, it was very informative and easy to follow!

Did it look the same after it was washed?
@@dinahgowan3586 hi we did different was tests and for best results we was with low heat and allow to air dry.. washing at high temperature causes fading and cracking. :)
these printers are $400 a piece, though
@@mindybosket4386 hi we are not familiar with the American market we can only tell you what it's like here in the UK we can buy both of these printers new for around £400 maybe check out Facebook marketplace place you may have some luck there ☺️
How do you keep the white ink from setting up in the printer? How often do you have to do head cleaning on the printers?
@@jmrtopcoatingllc we print every day and physically give the whole printer a shake 😁
@CraftedCustomCreations i appreciate the help. I was leaning towards the eco tank 8550 and doing the dtf conversion on it but this is an idea I never thought of. Have you thought of the conversion idea or does this work for you just as well. Have you tried any of the dtf ovens yet or are you still doing the curing of the powder with your heart press?
@@jmrtopcoatingllc for how little we do DTF we are happy with this and the heat press. If we need big prints we are just buying them in gang sheets. My honest advice is this if your a DIY crafter our way is much more affordable and it will work for you but if you are planning on selling a lot then I would go down the conversation route as you get it in one print. Hope this helps
@CraftedCustomCreations thank you for your advise, I think we will try this method and see how it works for us. Do you recommend any eco tank epson printer that isn't an all in one?
Also what dtf ink do you recommend?
