I always tell people HIMYM is the most planned detailed sitcom
The writers were really hardworking... Wow everything sooo deep
aplicable to first season only
banjir jir LMAO okay
everything, except the ending, the ending was badly planned
Fun fact that you probably didn’t know is that the scenes with Teds kids were filmed in the first season! they planned every bit of the show out before hand
@@kayleemarie6262 which is why the ending was so bad, the had already filmed the last scene with the kids, at the time where everyone like robin and ted together. They wrote themeselves into a corner and just left it like that
One you left out is from the episode where Ted tries to win over Stella in his 10 weeks of treatment for his tattoo. He says "a lot can happen in ten weeks, you don’t even know what you’ll have for lunch in 10 weeks". In which Marshall replies "yes I do, I will have shrimp and a milkshake". When the 10 weeks pass and Ted feels like he has lost Stella, Marshall is eating exactly that, but there is no mention of it.
For real? This comment needs more likes!
Actually, not only that! It also shows Lily's nails progressively getting longer and longer after she promises Ted to stop biting her nails as her way of showing support.
Actually, not only that! It also shows Lily's nails progressively getting longer and longer after she promises Ted to stop biting her nails as her way of showing support.
I found out something not many people outside reddit knew and that is the story of the thermos. In around season 7 Barney blackmails the gang to keep quiet about his promiscuous life to Nora or he'll expose their most embarrassing moments. For Ted it was the story of the thermos yet it is left up to the audiences imagination to guess what the story is. Near the end of season nine when Robin and her sister are watching the wedding bride 2 (a parody of Teds life written by his ex fiances husband) we learn his character Jed Mosley gets his penis stuck in a Thermos. I find it so fascinating the writers answered something that was only mentioned in one scene 2 seasons ago in such a way it goes to show how aware they are of the story and us Fans.
season 6
Oh, didn't notice that, thanks, cap!
Thank you I never knew how much I needed to know this
Thank you so much for this!
Yeah like barney didn't know how to drive but suddenly he's picking up chix with a cab naaa
“If you don’t know what 420 I can’t tell you”
A second later
“Yeah they’re smoking weed”
*THANK YOU!*
So I don't want to ruin the end of EMPIRE STRIKES BACK *BUT* in RETURN OF THE JEDI, Luke has to save his father from the Emperor & the dark side!
Look at how many likes your comment has yeet
and no one dare to give another one ;)
I mean, you have to know what weed is so it's fine.
That makes no sense... loool
Ohhh they missed a very very interesting scene:
In Season 9, Episode 5; you'll find that when Marshall dressed as a gift and Ted as a thank you note, in background there is slutty pumpkin but unfortunately Ted didn't see her
ya! I saw that one
Actually they were dating st that time and it is also the episode they break up with each other
That was a pretty obvious one lol
I saw that
I am glad that I noticed it right away...made me smile and wonder how many flashbacks I might have missed
Also when Ted gets into the accident in the cab, he lets a gypsy cab go by which has a driver with no shirt. Later on Marshall is reading a newspaper with a headline about the naked cab driver.
You forgot about the big one when Marshall said he was going to be cutting into a turkey with a lightsaber in about three to five years and they flash for three to five years on the one person who was noticeably missing from the Thanksgiving kitchen table is Marshall's father.
Andyjagodzinskishow what?? I'm gonna rewatch that now. Damn.
@@thegamingimpact3271 yeah there's one episode where there at Thanksgiving and then Marshall makes the comment that in three to five years he's going to use old blue to cut a turkey and at the end of the episode cuts of turkey of Old Blue and then his dad's not at the table.
Or my even more favorite thing that most people didn't notice is Marshall actually used one more slap in the slap it then he actually had
Damn, you're right!
Andyjagodzinskishow how so?? He missed one, is that what you’re referring to??
while watching this video..........."Glass breaking sound in background"
Amal Vijayan that made me incredibly happy
xD
DEFINITELY ME! especially number 5... wow
Me too, i literally felt that while i was eating chips loudly, and it was aaaawesomee.😁
That's the best episode ever!!! :D
This show is more than just a sitcom
Shardul Deshpande HIMYM is Life, HIMYM is Love!
@@Pyrrho66 100%
The countdown is one, but another small detail is that Jason Segel was given a different script for the ending of that episode. He didn’t know his “father” died and the feeling in that scene was genuine and slightly improvised.
Which episode was it?
juliaapjexox it’s called “bad news” I think
Apparently they only told Alison what the line was just before they filmed it too
That reminds me of MASH when the actor of Radar told everyone that Henry Blake was killed
No way! That’s awesome!!
And now I miss a non-existent 10th season in which we see a full blown romance between Ted and Tracey.
Not needed ted and robin all the way
@@Saurabhrkohardy ikr
I feel like we can imagine what it was like. With all the wishful thinking that ted does it’s clear to see what it would be like.
Deepak Saxena exactly I wanna see the full story not just 2 seconds
You can see it in any soap opera / telenovela. HIMYM was special because of its comedic elements.
at the end of the episode about bags that people carry, there is a pretty funny easter egg at the end. when the episode is ending we see a lot off people walking with bags and if you stop you can see a bag says “slept with barney stinson”
Actually you can see 2 people with that same bag lmao
there is also one bag which tells us that elvis is alive😂
@@Jim_The_Fish 2?lmao I found like at least 3 girls
When Marshall visited his dad's grave, one of the tombstones said "Mother". Implying that the mother is going to die.
There's also a reference in the episode where Zoey 'ruins' Ted's newspaper day - the article next to hers (to the right I think) has the headline "No one is safe, not even your mother".
I don’t think that means anything
@@martimfreitaspereira4678 that's more like barney taunting Ted.
IF THAT'S TRUE I'M SO SHOCKED RIGHT KNOW I CAN'T CLOSE MY MOUTH OH MY F GOD!!!!!!
watch the show again, but watch the alternate ending, aka the only ending i care about
the mother is very much alive
When you literally noticed all of these, BUT I did binge watch this show like 6 times. Writers on this show are so through it's Legen....hope your not lactose intolerant, becasue the second half of that word is dary!
LEGENDARY!!!!
I love when you catch new things when you binge watch back. Like the fact that they played an instrumental of “Sandcastles in the sand” at the church during Barney and Robin’s wedding.
I can't believe it's been 4 years since this show ended...
Zmak Flame its crazy
5 years now.
6 now
17 now...
Jester Blaze 6 now
Something they didn't mention that episode with the countdown leading to his dad's death.. after Marshall found out his dad dies the camera zooms out and there's a parking meter that says expired for the last scene..
:( never noticed that
Also the "open until 3" neon sign which was on when Marshall walked out of the bar, is turned off when the camera zooms out, showing the expired metre.
My favorite is how "la Vie en rose" was reused by Tracy singing it on the patio.
xnitrorider62x when was it used before?
jjman9 it was first used when Ted and Robin kissed on NYE in season 1.
I think one of the saddest moments is when Robin finds out she can no longer have children.
KaylenA420 I cried my eyes out, srs cried my eyes out. Like I’m still feeling the pain whenever I think of it.
@@hoangvy454 ikr aha plus not many shows deal with that kind of stuff. Most shows tend to just deal with death
Anyone else ever notice in an earlier season Gary blauman was mention in a story Barney was telling where he said he quit because his brothers company just made them rich and then it crashed and Gary supposedly jumped off a building but then he appears in the last season
Yes completely two different actors. Gary Blauman was the guy who stood on the table and decided to take a piss after getting Fired and I'm season nine it's a different GB
It's the same guy in both episodes.
VanCity Saints I noticed that too. I always wondered if it was just an oversight or it it was done intentionally and Barney was lying again when he told the story
The guy that played Blauman was also one of the 'jerks' that Marshal was working with when he first got into corporate.
Where do you find those videos of Lilly and Marshall in Scotland? Never seen that footage before..
MrHappyme7 in the dvd bonus
are there any other bonus?
A bunch of short footages from lily and Marshall's honeymoon.
MrHappyme7 it’s on youtube too! search for “marshall and lily’s honeymoon” :)
I think there's another bonus where you find out about the pineapple
I miss this show
Dragon Ball Universe me to
Yeah...:(
Sameeee
you can watch it on Netflix. I just did
Then watch it
The producers were very smart putting this little hints and clues. I mean it makes the show seem even more rare by the amount of detail they put in their show. It just bamboozles ur head when u notice them all.
Finale was actually genius , if you really think about it , People don't like it Beacuse it's very realistic , Life is like that , HIMYM has always been to its core like this , Dark and cruel life events and lessons wraped in a positive fun environment . The creators of HIMYM should really be respected and appreciated for how big of a risk they took for such a risky ending and not just giving a fairy tale ending .
No one mentioned that Barney is terrible with Chopsticks
Clayton Baker lolll
I always noticed that... well reminded Clayton
Didn't he constantly pretend to be terrible with chopsticks for years so that he could manipulate Marshal into loosing a bet which was played out in early season seven at a hibachi grille.
@@YOURMOMxo69xothe time when Marshall realises that he was tricking him for like 5 years then I thought wow Barney is a frikin manipulative king
Bless you!
I’m still pretty upset about how it ended even though I love the show
I'm with you on that. I was not impressed with the ending of this otherwise great show!!😊
It was a great series
It was the perfect ending that was planned since the first episode.
I agree. Great show. Horrible ending.
Is anyone actually surprised? The actress that played the mother was fantastic so I get why people were upset but there was only ever gonna be one outcome. The mother was dead, I wanna get with Robin
At least i found the last one about the mother's name being Tracy being hinted at season 1, all by myself :D
The fifth time i watched the show xD
The writers have put so much heart in this show. I don't understand why some of the people hate this show. It did more than a sitcom can do and presented human emotions in the finest ways. Also, to be honest, I LOVED the ending. It was meant to be that way.
You may have "LOVED" it but you can't understand why people hated it? The "hate" for the show came solely from the ending.
@@loganbigmo People hate when something doesn't go their way. But the ending was a full circle. And throughout the show, Ted was obsessed with Robin. So, it made sense.
@@karanvij00 Yeah, but the execution at the end was fumbled. Why have the entirety of s9 be Barney & Robin's wedding, have them get married in the second last episode & then time-skip to the next ep, they're divorced?
If they wanted Ted x Robin they should have naturally steered the course there. It felt abrupt. Whole 9 seasons about "how I met your mother", she only appears in season 9, even then sporadically, and we jump over their bonding/kids, etc. They should have made Barney's wedding 2 episodes, rest of S9 fleshing out Tracy.
Also throughout the show they showed many times why Ted & Robin would not work as a couple. If they wanted this endgame, they should've rectified that. Ah well.
@@loganbigmo If they would have given more screen time to Tracy, then the "dialogue" from the kids at the end mentioning the "lack of Tracy's story" in Ted's narration wouldn't have worked out. The kids noticed that Ted was actually telling the atory of Robin and Him.
Secondly, people are pissed at the fact that the entire season was dedicated to the wedding. Well, Ted had grown up in those 3 days...he made peace with himself and with destiny. He made mature decisions. He "let Robin go" because it was the right thing to do at that moment.
Those 3 days of wedding changed Ted's perspective as he was ready to welcome the unknown in his life. So, season 9 was NOT about the wedding...it was about TED moving on.
Lily and Marshal had made a bet on whether Ted and Robin would ever get together for good. Seasons later in the finale when Ted is professing his love about Tracy Marshall pays Lilly (or vice versa)
I think it's Lily who pays Marshall in that scene but I feel like deep down she knew Ted would end up with Robin.
@gryffindor queen It was something like that yeah. One paid the other but they knew they were right in the end. It was Marshall that knew Ted and Robin would be together again.
Lily bet against them and always seemed to be in on their relationship destruction
In season 8 itself, there's an episode where Ted runs back to Tracey's apartment and says to her that he just wanted these "extra" 45 days with her, hinting that the mother had died
The only one I noticed was #1. I mean, it’s actually pretty obvious since the kids wouldn’t have bought it unless that was actually their mother’s name.
Michael Mello It seems obvious now but I didn’t remember that scene after 8 seasons. I do remember reading somewhere that if the show was canceled after 1 or 2 seasons, Victoria would have been the mother. However that wouldn’t have worked with that scene in the first season, unless it was the end of season 1 and the writers knew there would be at least one more season when that scene was written.
I did pick up on it as well but it really wasn’t obvious. When I noticed I showed my friends and they jumped up
I swear, there is no one who didn’t see number 5. I mean, that’s the joke and they even zoom in on them constantly
ok, I did not notice the point of them! I of course saw them because is shown, but for whatever reason had no clue it was always the same couple aging. I thought it was just different couples and people coming in the bar over days and days!
I didn’t
As a Canadian I was way to focused on the Canada jokes to notice
@Braece hes talking about fact 5 not the count down fact 😊
Erikgerrard 03 I definitely didn’t haha I was focused on the jokes 😂
I recently noticed THE best one.. On the episode where Ted crushes at the university dorm and speaks to similar to Ted, Marshall and Lily kids, he says "And that's the story of how i met Robyn, from 2005 til now". They had already hinted us that this was the story of how he met Robyn
do you know what series/episode number that is?
@@krishan736 Yes! It's the ending scene in S7 episode 19
The Clock was an emphasis on the "sandwiches" they ate in college and point out this is all how Ted clearly remembers it, so his says days or dates but never the time. He might say "That night" etc.
Im just a normal person, when i see How I met your mother , i click
The sinister countdown might have foreshadowed Marvin’s death in that episode, but that wasn’t the first time. Back in season 4’s “The Fight”, there’s a flashforward to Thanksgiving 3-5 years in the future when Marshall shows off his new lightsaber. In that scene, Marshall’s dad is conspicuously missing, hinting he’d die within 3 years.
I noticed the countdown when I watched it the first time because I saw the numbers 50 and 49, then all the rest started showing up and I was determined to spot them all. It wasn't until the number 2 that I realised what it was counting down to. I thought at first it was going to be either Lily finding out she's pregnant or Marshall getting the results of his fertility test
My favorite thing is the fact that Barney’s go to statistic number is 83%😂 Ted calls him out on it early on but the writers are so amazing they continue it throughout the rest of the show. Most people would forget about it and change it.
How I Met Your Mother is the Friends of this generation 💕
and so much Superior to Friends, it should not even BE compared! I never watched Friends when it aired. I am 43, so I could have but just never cared much. It always looked stupid to me, a bunch of preppie adults. I was very "alternative" then. When alternative actually meant a specific thing. I watched HIMYM when it aired as well as afterward and LOVE that show. Then one day I just decided lets watch Friends all the way through, it is 2017, I have never so much as seen a single episode. So we watched Friends, for the first time, last year! It was watchable, but also stupid to me. Every character on that show is in reality a horrible person, and the ones we are "supposed to" like, are awful people. Ross? Hes a jerk. Phoebe could have been alright if they had not changed her so much over the years.
HIMYM is funny but makes you think about life too, FRIENDS not too much, but I gotta credit them for giving me some laughs
Which is ironic. Because as you rewatch FRIENDS you realize how much Ross is a dick. And as you rewatch HIMYM, you realize how much Ted is a dick.
*TRIGGERED*
I love both but I think friends is much better because it has a more satisfying ending and funnier characters
That’s just my opinion
they forgot the conan O'Brien cameo in the episode "No pressure" when barney runs out the bar you can see conan in the background
I have watched HIMYM a thousand times and it's my all-time favourite show but I have to admit that I have never noticed the broken clock at 4:20. Well played.
Still one of my favorite series of all time, including the ending.
Yesss thank you! It felt like I'm the only one who loved the ending!
Stefano Christiano fyiyyyuyy
"It takes 20 years to build a reputation, and only 5 minutes to ruin it"
are you talking about the end of the series
Whatcha talking 'bout kaneki
Eating a sandwich right now
someone call the cops lmao
Why 4:20? Well, everyone knows 4:20 is the best time to eat sandwiches
You’re too young to know what 4:20 means. Sandwiches are marijuana.
But what does that means
@@KallisMakeuphouse it means marijuana and weed too.
Ever heard of Google detective Sherlock🧐
Keep the himym videos coming!!
I miss this show so much
What a brilliant series this was. Nothing else can ever match up to HIMYM. I wish I could relive the time when it had just begun.
Two details I really enjoyed was Barney actually Stacking the Ships on top of each other in the Battleship scene in 1.14 and Robin appearing on a bottle of "Wharmpess Gold" Beer in 7.22
I didn’t see it mentioned here, but the *actual* biggest detail we all missed the first time was the headstone that reads “Mother” in the cemetery when Marshall is tailgating with his deceased father.
I knew most of these, but the detail about Tracy's name was great :D
Wow, there was a few in there I've never noticed before. Good job!
If you missed these details, what show were you watching??
I have one of the best ones ever that I’ve never heard anyone else mention.
On an episode in which Zoey spends a night with the gang (except for ted) the group gets wasted and Marshall ends up sending a picture of his genitals to a random phone number, he asks for a number to type in and their old friend from college, who coincidentally played a major role (Hurley) in the series lost replies pretty quickly with these numbers: 4 8 15 16 23 42.
These numbers are the numbers that Hurley (in Lost) used to win the lottery and have even more to do in the series.
I never get tired of this show, I love it!
Usually disagree with watchmojo lists but loved this one!
I actually came up with one i just saw
in season 7 epidsode 13( I think), Marshall tailgates for a vikings game at his dads grave. While this is sad and all, if you look closely, ne of the tombstones says "Mother", this foreshadows the mothers death later in the series. It gives me goosebumps, but its real.
Exactly! I never hated the ending and I could never understand why everyone did. I could understand why it wasn't satisfactory but.. yeah, what you said
This is great content! Congratulations!!!!!!
Just finished it today. I'm sad its over. But i wish I could have lived with it. Like tuning in every certain day to watch it. Oh well. Having all seasons is nice.
Same buddy, just finished it yesterday and now I'm on the moving on stage
In the episode about the movie the wedding bride and the topic that everyone is carrying bags with them, you can see at the very end of the Episode that one woman is carrying a bag with "slept with barney stinson" on it
Am i the only one who found that the ending was perfect ? it was so well planed from the beggining that you can only respect the creators for this show
Here is a fun fact that I remember hearing. In the last episode in season two, the scene in which robin thinks ted is proposing to her the Gentleman behind her grabs the ring and proposes to his girlfriend was an actual wedding proposal
Marshall and Lily’s commitment to have a baby when they have seen all the doppelgängers. That episode when Lily thinks she saw the Barney’s doppelgänger on hotdog stand, and finally decides to have a baby. But they try and try and still can’t have the baby until they actually see the real doppelgänger as the gyno doctor, and finally have the baby at the end of that season.
Their pact with the universe actually hold out.
Barney Stinson have me soo many pick up lines to use on the ladies... thank you NPH 😍
Nay LEGENDARY NPH
I think this is the first “Top Ten things you missed” where I had actually missed every single one.
Did I expect it to come from watch mojo?: No
Was I pleased?: Yes
The time where I feel most at peace: watching reruns of this show!
Well, I noticed the countdown on the first view probably somewhere in the low forties. And I love no 5 in the countdown btw. Most of the other entries have been in plenty of lists before. But I never knew that barney's play had a name. So thanks for that.
Sadly, we caught the countdown easter egg on the first viewing. Someone in the room said, "why is that number so prominent" and then it happened again almost immediately with the next number making it obvious what was going on.
So much worse than getting it later. We thought we were being counted down to something good. Our question became "why did they do that to us?"
I suppose it made us feel that horrible moment more strongly than if we had just watched without noticing it. Which was probably the point.
I also noticed the countdown my first watch through. When I saw the cab door open and Lily step out, I thought she was going to tell Marshall she was pregnant, and then she didn't.
Please do more HIMYM Viedeos
Sam Di Nuzzo amen
I can't watch the "Bad News" episode without tearing up or even crying. The way Marshall says "My Dads Dead?" always gets me
They didnt even told him his fictional dad was going to die.
Woah, I remember watching the countdown episode and realised a bunch of numbers. Didn't know what they were, but noticed like 10 of them. Didn't realise it was actually counting down to something.
Watched the video, read through all the comments, mostly about 420, checked the time, it's exactly 4:20. HIMYM is so meta, it bleeds right into reality.
The episode was literally called the countdown
In the episode little Minnesota, Marshall was wearing a shirt with the number 70. In the 60's and 70's there was a group of linemen on the Vikings called the purple people eaters. Number 70 was jim marshall. So if the Jersey had a name itd be marshall which is literally his name.
My favorite is how a tune of Sandcastles in the Sand plays in Lily's wedding photo album for Robin and that's the title of the episode where Robin and Barney first hook up.
I knew the first one. Yaaay..
I told my friend during season 8 the mother's name is Tracy.
The lockness monster one is pretty crazy.
Only 1 word for it...
Legen-wait-for-it... DAIRY!
LEGENDAIRY!
This makes me want to go watch the series over again.
I notice most of your picks.. 'cause i watch it 8times literally. Over and over
Sucks we never got to actually be emotionally invested in the mother
I knew all of these except for the clock one. I’ve seen this show way too many times.
This is great! Please can you do the same sort of Top 10 Easter Eggs for LOST.
I noticed the numbers counting down the first time and was waiting for this video to mention it
I still keep rewatching how I met your mother
Me too, they are like my friends
A lifetime in a minute was and still my favorite
Number 2 and number 1 are actually surprising. I was ready for a bit of a dull count down, but kudos. Number 1 should have been really obvious in hindsight.
I've rewatched the show entirely too many times, and wasn't surprised up to that point, but those two... great catches.
one detail i love is in that thanksgiving episode with zoe; they all take a selfie and make the same faces as the photograph episode :)
4:20 Blaze it!
It’s been so long since I watched this show that I had no clue wtf HIMYM meant
How I met Your Mother
I've always enjoyed that when they are eating a meal with chopsticks in the apartment, Barney spends the entire time having food fall off the sticks just before it hits his lips.
I’ve rewatched himym at least 3 or 4 times now and I knew at least half of these
I watched the show like 4 times! And I don't remember this scene at (5:07)
Me too!!! Where’s it from?
Probably the DVD.
I think it's now a DVD extra, but I believe at the time of airing it was an online "special"...you see Marshall and Lily's honeymoon videos and it's basically her getting more and more agitated at Marshall because all he cares about is finding Nessie. You can try finding it here on UA-cam.
@@joy9585 thx for the info!
@SOLIDUS- you got it!
I think the 420 clock is actually more of a pulp fiction reference.
"A sinister countdown" ... eyes tear up, even before the sentence is over
Number nine it's really a big thing!!!! I've never noticed, the dialogue of Marshall about the rainy day it was a big clue about the final of the show!!!
I knew all of them 😂 .... does that mean that I‘m a noob ? Yes.
Lena Schneider you don’t know what a noob is lol
I also knew all of them accept for the count down. So that doesn’t mean that you’re a noob. It’s just that the Easter eggs were easily findable.
This reminds me of some other guy’s list..
Hi I love your channel
oh HELLO
talk to the empire state building
I only didn't spot the countdown. Good video!
if i'm not mistaken in the s04e11 when Robin and Marshall are at the vikings bar and Robin is telling the Super Bowl story she stole from Marshall you can see someone wearing a shirt with the name "Smolders" in it
