I love your videos, thank you for making them, they are amazing 😍
The narrator should step it up a bit or get fired.
This is the most dreary narration I've hear in a long time.
I don’t need Barney’s stupid rules. He’s just trying to create his own Kool Aid cult
One of the best sitcom characters of all time thanks to perfect casting.
Also great writing. These phrases weren't all improvised by him. Writing is important.
@@factoryofdivisiveopinions No scripted work can be good without a good script. If the script is poor, good actors, director, producers etc. can't make it good.
@@andrewjones575 Exactly! Yet most people just credit the actors. Not saying they don't help, they do a lot. But a good script is always important.
@@factoryofdivisiveopinions Most scriptwriters aren't well-known, unless they're also famous as actors.
And is sad to know that this great character, who is in itself a criticism of chobinism, wouldn't exist in the 2020's as most people wouldn't get the joke. Barney would get canceled faster that you can say PC.
You forgot Barney’s one rule: “New is always better”
It’s a RULE not a Law. Like how the Golden rule is to go to Jail for a bro. I have the book of laws and Rule called the Bro Code. It’s an actual book
Sorry the jail thing is “The Dream” not a rule.
Really, so those new Star Wars movie?
So what you're saying is How I met your father the spin off is better than Himym?
you mean “always keep a fake pair of concert tickets in your pocket in case lily invites you to something stupid”
Honestly the hot crazy scale theory has always stuck with me
My cousin and I Love that scale.
That scale has always been accurate.
*Just facts bro, just facts*
@@AspieVert *That sounds a little weird*
Dude, that is so true, I can't remember the name but when somebody starts to talk about, if I sit on the table or not, I look over and ask if they talk about hot/crazy scale and if the person that is talked about is under or over the mendosa diagonal
He only has 1 rule, and it's 83% accurate. The Barnicle!!
True story.
Barney taught me more about life than every other philosopher. He's a legend.
Now this is a philosophy I can get behind. But what's it called? Who's the founder of it for that matter?
That's right; it's called The Bro Code, by Barney Stinson
100%!! When I was younger, I thought barney was insane. I rewatched it as an adult and.. damn, he's very often very right - especially things about friendship and corporate america

I can totally confirm the Platnium rule is one to live by. I made a mistake once and began flirting with this coworker I had at a job once and after a few months, it just got awkward between us. It got bad enough that both her and I had to work different shifts so we wouldn't butt heads.
Same.
The thing that really sells Barney’s “history lesson” on the 3 Days Rule is Cobie Smolders’ reaction next to him. That looks like real “actor cracking up” and not just her as the character.
Bro, Smulders and Harris were told to react extra, to hint the spark generating between them, which would explode in season finale, resulting into them dating
@@amangoyal923 Yes, because it's impossible that in a sitcom of 9 seasons there would be some improvised details at all.
Barney was definitely one of best characters of the 2000s , Neil's portraits Barney so well, i haven't seen better character for long time in sitcom.
"You still have one good year left"
-Barney Stinson😂
The mermaid theory also lends to the "office hot" phenomenon where you find a coworker attractive at work, but if you saw them out in public you may not think they are as hot. It's only because you see them all the time.
Barneys corporate america theory is hilarious and true
One of the best characters of all time!!!
Best series for me. All time best. I know it could be argued. But it taught me so much about the way I should think about life. Mostly because of Barney actually. I recommend it to everyone.
Wow I never really thought about it but he WAS ACTUALLY RIGHT that, " cooperate America doesn't want someone who ACTUALLY TAKES RISKS or DOES something"!!.
Barney’s right
Great moments are more special and exciting when you have a friend there to experience it with
NPH/Barney carried the whole show.
Barney Stinson is my favorite character hands down
Well that’s too bad. Thank god I didn’t end up like Trump.
Finally.
A list that really matters.
How dare you cut off the part where Jason Segel is in both of the cheerleader effect groups.
"It's not legendary unless your friends are there to see it" is probably my motto of life
Omg I need another list like this if you can make one equally accurate.
The platinum rules is the best one on the list.
I need to test that Ewok line Theory. I need to show a picture of an Ewok to my grandmother
I love Barney. Hes the reason that I watched the show.
Same, started a week ago because I saw him in funny UA-cam Shorts and thought I had to watch it. Now I'm hooked.
You can tell this show came out right before the me too movement 😂
There's so much in that show they couldn't have done in 2016+ especially. Not just the men, but in how the women in the show had their own sexual agency they were responsible for. No one got a free pass, and that's one of the reasons it's one of my favourite sitcoms.
I missed the part where Barney abused anyone.
I always felt they got away with Barney being the way he is because he’s played by a gay man. If it was anyone but NPH it wouldn’t have worked.
@@iDEATH I agree
@@bigfudge2031 He often lies for the purpose of sex, which many in the me too movement would say is a form of abuse.
The Legend himself Swarley
Please top ten Ted Mosby quotes about love
I'm glad u guys made a video on this series,
Coz this one Deserve much more than it has got !!!!!
Till this day Robin’s “so every girl you have a sex with feels immediate need of shower” is the weakest burn attempt of all sitcoms 😅🙌
Barney Stinson the man and the legend - WAIT FOR IT - dery!!
You forget "New is always better" and "Don't sleep with fatties"
All were great rules to live by.
The born into legend himself!
Nothing is legendary if yours friends are not their to see it 🙂🥺
Is it weird that Barney's three days rule explanation makes sense? XD
4:10 Easter egg alert. Neil Patrick was born in that year. If only the date is right then it's AWESOME
The Platinum rule is also almost exactly true.
Never Ever Ever Ever Love thy neighbor.
True story
I finished this series before new year, in one month, I’m proudly legen-wait for it-dary!
My husband and I still laugh over him talking about woooo girls 😆🤣 hilarious episode 🤣😂
If the mermaid theory works with the genders reversed, how long will it take for my female colleagues to find me attractive?
Doesn't quite work the same for girls, women are more first impression sticks kind of people (of course this is not a 100% rule, nothing is, but in general) so they basically make their minds about someone level of beauty very fast, and rarely revisit it, but on the other side of the coin, they are more open to real emotional development on relationships, so in the long run they can start to like someone despite their looks ( and even convince themselves that the guy is actually more attractive now). There are quite some books on the psychology of love in the women's perspective.
Is it really best to wait 3 days before phoning a girl after a date? Does it only apply in relation to a first date?
Its one of those “depends on the situation” scenarios, but yes it is only after the first date mainly.
@@TheCaptainjuicy The risk is that she thinks he isn't into her &/or she finds someone else during that time.
@@andrewjones575 If you went on a date with someone that finds another person in less than 3 days after dating you, odds are: 1-) She/he is a slutty cookie or/and 2-) You are a very forgettable person, or she/he was utterly unimpressed by you. Either way things would eventually go to hell anyway, so this is not an issue, even a half decent date will have the person thinking about the other for more than 48 hours, so by all means wait, NOBODY wants to date a needy, desperate person.
@@marcosc9130 She could go on a date with someone else the day after, then prefer him. She's not going to wait 3 days.
This is the exact day , I started watching WatchMoJo 🌟😃
I remember being 🤯 with the explanation of the 3-day rule. 🤣🤣🤣
I'd love to have a perfect month. Even a perfect week would be great.
The Lemon Law.
Barney “I should’ve called it the Barney Law”
Great video to watch since Netflix removed it 😭
This guy carried the show from season 4
Barney Stinson, now this is the guy to learn from!!
I feel like this video should have a "Do not try this at home!" warning.
I agree with that sentiment legendary only when you're friends are there to see it and support you. So true 😢😢😢😢
Then be your own best friend and legendary stuff will be remembered by you! Tried it and it worked. Still works great actually
I guess he's right about that. The hotter they are the crazier they are. I suppose that would explain the phrase "She's a *censored word* in the streets and a freak in the sheets" It makes sense
He needs a cameo in how I met your father.
Your wish has come true😊
@@sumbulusmani3390 seriously??? Please tell me your not joking
Would HIMYM be much more popular if s9 had been as good as 1-8? Would it be as popular as Friends?
More popular or not, it's 100x better than friends
Season 9 was great, IMO. It was the last 10 minutes of the last episode that ruined it.
@@mabatch3769 You don't think there's too much filler & trivial stuff in it?
@@andrewjones575 Nah. It’s a sitcom. Filler and trivial stuff was the entire show. I can understand why people didn’t enjoy the last season. It was different than the others and the pacing was slow at times. I think the whole season gets shit on because of the ending. Just my opinion, though.
@@mabatch3769 A sitcom shouldn't be slow-paced. It makes no sense to have over 20 eps about the run-up to the wedding of 2 characters who each made it very clear many times that they don't do commitment or monogamy.
Robin did the chain of screaming at Patrice
Now I have the need to rewatch the series
There's this store called Spencer's in my local mall, and they legit sell copies of The Bro Code. Soon as I found out, I bought it once I got paid from work.
"How to start your living in this new year", told by Barnabus Stinson!!!!
Sigma way of living
No...he's an Apex Chad.
He's actually a Tera Sigma Chad
Not the old Sigma / Alpha / Beta BS IN 2024😂😂😂
Guys, Wolves only have Alphas in Captivity! Only broken Wolves can be Alphas.
People aren't categories so trying to put them in tiers is always going to end up being WHY you're alone, not HOW
One of my favourite characters of all time. Phil Dunphy is close though
Ted often very quickly goes from thinking his latest girl is 'the one' to forgetting her name!
This should be a top 20
“Can’t see the forest for the trees” means the exact opposite of “the cheerleader effect”…..
Barney Stinson can be a spirit animal.
Good video
I can't believe they're taking HIMYM off Netflix 😫
yeah that’s why I finished it within one month. totally worth it
@@bensuguneri I seen it all thankfully

Rules I love by. Barney has such wisdom.
The true number 1: always dunk on Canada.
I own the actual rule books. Signed by Barney himeself
Daily reminder: How I Met Your Mother>Friends
It was LEGENDARY 🍻 !!!!!
Great stuff from this channel
5:03 the three days rule
so much fun
#4, I was in the Navy and we call those Boat goggles. For example on 6mo deployments around the same sailors for months they become attractive 😢
The #1 on this list wasn't even mentioned. It's the exception to all his rules, "unless she's hot"
#1 - make sure Neo takes his blue pills
I do love Barneys rules. They are actually good advice and I have been living by them since I was 18.
That is 15 years now and have never let me down a single time as I will still live by them.
this man is my idol and almost everything I strive to be as a friend
What Barney said about sailors seeing manatees as mermaids is actually true. They were out at sea for months at a time. They also had to distill their drinking water with alcohol (thus giving birth to the drunken sailor stereotype), which added to the equation and was why sailors at the time are dictated with big beards (shaving required fresh water and could lead to bad cuts that could develop potentially fatal infections). These were also factors that led to homosexual acts on ships (which gave birth to the stereotype of sailors and sodomy).
Also, the Cheerleader Effect is true to an extent. More than half the girls on the cheerleading squad at my high school weren't that attractive. Furthermore, the episode proved that it's gender-neutral. Even funnier is Jason Segel being a part of both groups.
How does Ted get so many girls, most of them hot?
He is the one "telling the story" so of course they would all be hot.
@@bigfudge2031 That's one of the problems with having an unreliable narrator. However, we know that Robin's hot.
Some of these theories are well grounded to reality. Like the relationship time scale
Why does Barney wrongly assume that Nora first saw Return of the Jedi in its release year, 1983?
Why it is so important to Ted for Stella to love Star Wars? Also, why only her? He doesn't try to get Victoria, Zoey, Tracey etc. into it. I love Die Hard & Falling Down, but I'm well aware that most women don't & it'd make no sense for me to think it important for them to.
Because they weren't sleeping together, he needed something to connect
Well I defo think we could agrue that they missed the most important of all, the bro code, yeah it’s more of a code of honor still a code and a rule is a very fine line
The rule; give out just as much high fives as u recive
“I never got where I thought I wanted to go, but I always got a great story.”
Is Ted the Doctor and Barney the TARDIS.
By extension, Lily and Marshal could be Amy and Rory - the companions who are married.
Robyn as River Song?
There is a hot-crazy scale for guys, but its the money-attractiveness matrix. The more money a guy has the more attractive they are. 😂😂😂
Everything we know about Barney comes from the story that Ted is telling his kids. So that means that Barney is only “awesome” because that’s how Ted sees him.
💯💯
The "Platinum Rule" made me hooked to HIMYM.
Who’s watching this after seeing Neil Patrick Harris in the new Matrix movie?
Another reason the ending sucked. Ted says, at the end of this video... "I never got where I wanted to go, but I always got a great story." The story was never going to take him where he wanted to go... Robin. Damn writers!!!
The cheerleader effect is true you know
And that my friends....is the bro code
The mermaid effect is so true
I don't speak " I don't get laid"
I like the lemon law. Should be used on dates irl
HIMYM is better than Friends because HIMYM is good drama as well as comedy.
Swarley surely knew his stuff
