Think the Series 3 with steel wheels (and the flared arches etc) looks quite ‘brutish’ and gets away with it much better than the previous Series 2+2 versions that looked a bit odd. Lovely car.
Having just secured one of these, the video was great, but the dreadfully noisy and intrusive music should be got rid of and replaced with the engine's soundtrack instead. Video footage of iconic cars do not warrant noisy rock music and so many are ruined because of it. Less is actually more. Well filmed. How about a tour of the engine bay under the bonnet?
britishcomposers Thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback. I had planned on more natural sound but a lot of my audio was bad so had to add the music. I'd forgotten to film the engine bay!
With a car that special, you can always plan another short film in a rarified location, plus an early morning Sunday run through an empty tunnel with some acceleration, provided you get the mic positioning correctly done (single capsule stereo would do it) for best sound and avoiding any wind noise.
Some of the best work is done by amateurs, so practice makes perfect. Research a little from experts (not on-line folk, but professionals) and you can end up with great results - and there is good kit available, provided you go to somewhere that knows audio rather than a wholesale place on-line that peddles cheap Chinese crud that sounds rubbish.
I miss my Series 3 E-Type 2+2. Wish I hadn't sold it. But as with many Jags of that era, it was a love-hate relationship. I HAD to carry a spare twin electric fuel pump because two failed during my 5 years of ownership. The bumpers were only for looks since they wouldn't have protected the car form even a collision with a children's bike. But most concerning---something I always had in the back of my mind when driving it---was that the fuel tank is INSIDE the car's body..with driver and passengers. Yeah, I know it's under a WOODEN panel in the rear compartment. But how much safety do you think that would provide in a serious accident ? But I still wish I hadn't sold it those many years ago.
Sold mine about 5 years ago. Had been in my family for 25 years. Same thing, love-hate. So many moving pieces to manage under that bonnet. The last 4K I put into it had that V12 purring like the big cat it was made to be - took it to an e-type pro. Had to sell it that way. Tossed the guy buying it the keys. He took it for a spin. Came back. And handed me a check for what I was asking.
Ive got a 71 series 3 e type and cant figure out how to replace the rubber horn push with a checkered gold e type medallion. Does anyone know how to do this/where to buy compatible part?

I fell in love with the Series 1 E-type Roadster 50 years ago as a teenager.
Recently bought my first Jaguar - a 2010 XK.
Dreams can come true :-)
Nice one! Welcome to the Jaguar family. My next dream is owning an XK
What a beautiful car. Thank you for sharing this with us. @sng Barratt - Thank you for sharing this and helping us keep these cars on the road
Great car the styling is amazing.
GRACE. SPACE. SPACE. I LOVE MY E-TYPE.
Interesting, thanks. I actually prefer the Mk III, so I guess I'm no purist.

britishcomposers I need to work on my audio skills. I'm only an amature with basic gear at this! 😁

britishcomposers More to come on this car, I'll be using it this coming weekend for the next show
I really enjoy my XKE!!
The steering wheel is not correct for a V12 E-Type. Should be a black leather rimmed smaller diameter wheel with black Jaguar boss.
GRACE. SPACE. PACE
There were 72,500 E-TYPEs made we should all have one. !!!!!
Series 3 for me 😉

👍❤️
Less music and more engine please.
Music spoils video. Music vid or car vid, sorry not both.
A lot of my audio I planned on putting in this video was ruined so had to add the music. Appreciate you watching and for your feedback
Moves Like Jaguar .Thank you for your reply, and happy new year to you.😎👍
As soon as I heard the music I turned off
