    Perfect Tweed Jacket Review Mr Bond. Not forgetting Mr Desmond Llewellyn Bill on camera.
    The moment I saw the Series 3 E Type on the thumbnail and the title Tweed Jacket Review as I arrived at work last evening I knew exactly what I would do. I listened to the audio of the video in the car on my 28 mile commute this morning. Then I enjoyed the video in all its glory over breakfast.
    It was everything that i expected it to be. Zero disappointment.
    The Series 3 E Type is actually my favourite because it has the Glorious 5.3 V12 and I actually prefer the wider stance and flared arches, especially on the Roadster, even though the earlier XK six cylinder cars are much more sporting.
    I think that Allie McGraw drove a Series 3 E Type V12 in the movie Convoy which sadly melted its wiring loom. Kris Kristofferson referred to the Jaguar as an XKE after Miss McGraw abandoned it and joined him in his Mack R Series Truck.
    Don't be surprised if I enjoy this Review a third time Sir.
    Best Ever!!

      Sir, the handling on these is good, and the engine does provide a very nice sound. Mr Bill did an excellent job with this one, and we have some more to come. Glad you enjoyed the video both times!

    What an excellent review, Mr Lloyd, a very appropriate car indeed for a tweed jacket review. I can definitely testify feeling like Roger Moores's stunt double in a View To A Kill. Those sills are ridiculous high for a graceful and quick enter and exit in a hurry. I think the design of the Series 3 E-Type has aged very well and is looking very contemporary nowadays. Certainly, colour dictates, of course, that rather horrible blue, which is very like the 1980s basic Ford Maritime blue, doesn't look great, unlike this black, which makes the car look very muscular and elegant.

      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому +2

      Apparently, the black Series III E-Types are quite rare. Getting in and out gracefully is rather hard, sir, but we did our best. We have some more Tweed Jacket Review action coming up soon, sir, I do hope that you enjoy that too.

    What a privilege to drive such a special car! I'd feel privileged just seeing one on the road, never mind driving one! Thanks for the review, as always!

    Wow, Thankyou for this spectacular Tweed Jacket review, Sir. Beautiful car, Very purposeful with the stick on number plate, above that scary Grille, can’t beat a V12 badge & that amazing tail pipe. Hope you didn’t do yourself a mischief Sir, trying to get in the back seat.

    Magnificent!
    I know most car enthusiasts prefer the purity of the series 1 E Type but I actually prefer these series 3 ones. It might be because I am more familiar with those chrome hubcaps that adorned other old Jaguars than the spoked wheels.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому

      Yes, the Series I E-Type seems to be the one people prefer, but these Series III cars are a bit easier to live with. Thank you for watching, sir!

    Remember seeing a V12 E Type whilst walking to school , probably brand new at the time . The way it surged up Summerhill Avenue , with a beautiful muted howl was unforgettable, obviously I still remember it today.

    Great to see the return of the Tweed jacket reviews, what an amazing car. I appreciate these reviews cost more money in production etc. but add value tobthe channel. Problem is I can't afford these cars😅

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому

      Yes sir, they aren't cheap to make, and the cars we feature on Tweed Jacket Reviews tend to be a lot more expensive than usual, but we do enjoy ourselves when we make them very much...

    The V12 was heading more towards GT than sports car as most went overseas to the US where that's what they wanted.
    Some of the purity and lower weight had been lost but I always think of them as virtually two different models; the 6 cylinder cars were race car based sports cars and the V12 was a cruiser aimed at a particular type of buyer. Both concepts performed their briefs well.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому

      Yes, definitely suitable for cruising, and easier to drive than the 4.2 we had on the channel four years ago, certainly my choice if I ever am able to afford an E-Type (which is unlikely)!

    Its amazing to see the improvements made in the newer E Types. Do you need to put additives in when refueling this car?

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому +1

      I don't know, actually. I know that you can't run it on anything other than E5.... Thank you for watching, sir!

    Thank you for this video! Great that you reviewed one of the more ignored and unfairly maligned Jaguars! The V12 made a lovely noise! Do you find it more of a sports car or a GT?

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому +1

      It's a grand tourer, really. Would be suitable for some lovely long journeys, as the engine feels extremely relaxed.

    I recall reading the v12 could do a real 145 from the factory compared to a real 135 from the factory of a the 6 cylinders cars a lack of a rear crash structure. I would much rather a XJS V12, the 6 cylinder E types look like nice the v12 looks bloated and dated for when it was made

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  5 місяців тому +1

      Having driven both, I much preferred this one, even if it doesn't have the same clean lines of the original, as it was much easier to drive.
