10:00 actually, Hindus don't get to Varanasi to go to heaven. It's to achieve "moksha/liberation from the cycle of birth and rebirth". In Hinduism, Heaven is for celestial beings not Humans to be exact.

So then were does liberation take the soul? I was thinking to the heavenly planets as Gita indicates???

    • @anixes
      @anixes 2 роки тому +18

@@tyronsimpson2143all humans and animals have souls(Atman) while, there is only one God called(all Gods in Hinduism is different physical aspects of it) as "Brahman", who is genderless, formless and a supreme cosmic spirit(param-atman). So, the main point of liberation is that, all the souls return to Brahman or God. While, there are 14 planes of existence. 7 upper ones and 7 down ones. Earth sits at 7th number, while heaven(swarg loka) is sits at 5th number. Hence, there are 4 upper ones which are for realised beings(such as Buddha) or humans, who ascended to deityhood. Each plane has different kind of people living in it.

Also something to be noted, unlimited numbers of universes are born and dissolve in Brahman. Each universe has its own Gods, realms and set of rules. You can call it parallel universes too.

@@myc4u not really. Liberation is subjective. Sages and many other enlightenment beings, who have no attachments to worldly affairs(Maya) live in mahar loka(4th plane). Many souls want to go to Baikuntha dhama(realm of Lord Vishnu/Krishna) to find absolute liberation while, many want to go to Lord Shiva's realm(8th dimension) to find liberation.

Very cool video my friend, I am learning more about Indian every time I watch your channel. I had plans to go to Indian back in February 2019 but we all know what happened then. They closed the airport right after I got here. No flights in and no flights out. Maybe in a year or two. At 75 I have to be a little more careful about illness than most. I had shoulder surgery two year ago and I'm still recovering from it. It happens as you age so I just accept it and go on with life the best way I can.

The train station stays packed as families arrive and await others to meet for last rites. Millions brings loved ones ashes from all over India and globally to do last puja on the Ganga river.

The heat and evening strolls, early morning sunrise down by the ghats are super special too! Don't worry. One more festival is coming! There are multiple festivals every single day of the year.
    21) You are a working person. Don't have time for religion. Its okay. You will still be a Hindu.
    22) You like to go to temples. Devotion is loved.
    23) You don't like to go to temples - no problem. You are still a Hindu!
    24) You know that Hinduism ☺ is a way of life, with considerable freedom.

    26) And If you don't believe that everything has GOD in it - No problems. Respect your viewpoint.
    27) "Sarve jana sukhino bhavantu " (May you all live happily)
You represent this! You're free to choose, my dear Hindu!
This is exactly the essence of Hinduism, all inclusive .. That is why it has withstood the test of time inspite of repeated onslaught both from within and outside, and assimilated every good aspects from everything . That is why it is eternal !!!
There is a saying in Rigveda , the first book ever known to mankind which depicts the Hinduism philosophy in a Nutshell -" Ano bhadrah Krathavo Yanthu Vishwathah"- Let the knowledge come to us from every direction "

Don't go to Ayodhya right now, postpone it for the next time if you visit India again. Ram Temple is being constructed, it will be completed in the next two years.
The city is also going through the redevelopment process to get ready for the opening of the Ram temple.
Instead, do the Chota char Dham circuit in Uttarakhand, which opens in April and closes in October. So the best time to visit and you would be able to beat the heat in the plains of India.

Older than time as the legend says, you can feel from the vlogs it just feels very different there the energy, the vibes are something unseen. Maybe as the person said most of the population are the oldies who stay there during last days of their life.

Yeah, moksha isn’t exactly heaven. It’s the same concept as nirvana, ie achieving enlightenment and breaking the wheel of karmic rebirth, but from a different angle and less nihilistic. Also, I don’t think you should call Shiva, Durga “gods”. Deity is a better term because they’re all different representations of the same underlying divinity. You might even say it’s implied they’re human creations so we can better relate to and understand Brahman, the underlying force of everything.

Anyone who has been following Gabriel’s journey for a while (or caught up in a short amount of time, like I did) would know that his travels are not about mere country-hopping/ country-counting, like many other channels out there. I know that at the core of his travels is an inner journey rather than a frantic search for “the sensational”.
When I watch other yt channels’ travel vlogs, what I see is beautiful scenes often recorded with expensive gear voided of any spiritual component. I get to fill up my bucket list with some interesting places to visit, sure, but no much more than that.
There’s no empathy involved most of the time, cause most vloggers are focused on cashing out, rather than getting any deeper message across or simply showing themselves for what they truly are.
It’s almost a paradox to my eyes: that those channels get more attention.
But hey, this is modern day society and I believe as people start to realise that certain things are more valuable than other, numbers will start shifting too. It’s all about being there when the time comes.

(Edited from this point) GABE I also almost got scammed by the handshake 🤝 tactic. I knew of this beforehand but thought maybe this guy was legit. He said he knew how to give ayurvedic massages but I said I Have No Money 💲 like 7 times. He said "No Problem" several times so I said Oh what the heck. Big mistake. Two dudes came into the picture as soon as I let the first one do it. The other two started massaging my back and legs and I quickly caught on to the scam. I said forget and the first dude asked me for 1000 rupees for all the three after two minutes of a bogus ayurvedic massage. I said I'm gonna be a nice (I was an idiot for falling for that scam.) and give them 200 rupees total. Then, I walked away. Never fell for it before or after that again. Fool me once, shame on you. India is by far the most challenging and different country I have visited, but also perhaps the most memorable. In contrast to cultures that tend towards order and focus (mostly Protestant and Islamic), Hinduism is the most extreme in the other direction, being pluralistic to its core. (Once upon a time, pluralism was the order of the day everywhere but that was tamed mostly by book-focused creeds, although in places like Guatemala or parts of Europe one can see the older pluralism in the worship of saints and other christianized pagan deities.) I remember attending an artee ceremony in a Hindu temple in a converted church in Leicester, UK, and it wasn't clear when the rituals started or ended, or where we should look. It was all in stark contrast to the older Protestant use of the same building when everyone would sit lined up in pews and the priest would process in at the start and process out at the end. There is nowhere like India... I expected Africa to be as challenging but it was far easier to travel there (although no less beautiful and compelling).

Dear Gabriel. While I truly enjoy your Varanasi videos, I feel like I've missed your interaction with the locals. It would have been a huge benefit if you'd just ask the people right there about the different rituals or platforms or whatever is going on instead of just passing by and trying to figure out youself and doubt whether it's this or that...
