I'm as white as they come and I love all the strong black characters in BP as well as the response from your community. It was so clear to me how much the first BP meant to all of you when it came out. It hit the same chord for me that I felt when my daughter first saw Rey on screen when Force Awakens came out. Representation matters. We have our opening weekend tickets for this and can't wait.

I don’t think they think Namor is dead. I think Queen Mother says “we know what you whisper. They have lost their protector. Now is our time to strike.” Meaning they know the world thinks they can hit Wakanda now that T’Challa is gone.
I have a feeling this is going to be a see it 2 or 3 times type movie. Phase 4 out with a bang!

Incase anyone wants to know 2:02 of the song translates to "your skin is great, never forget that you're royalty" loved how it leads up to show them who we are. Who ever was in charge of the trailer definitely knew what they were doing.

I don’t think Ramonda was saying Namor is dead. She was talking to the UN, and she said “I know what you’ve been whispering. “Their protector is dead. Now is the time to strike.” She was referring to them wanting to attack Wakanda because T’Challa is gone, insinuating that Wakanda is weak enough to attack and steal their vibranium.

Also think it’s Shuri in the suit because Namor speech in the beginning saying it’s those who are most broken that make great leaders. Keyed in on her on that and then the dots on her face match the ones on the suit.
This gave me goosebumps all over my body!! Shuri's suit is so comic accurate!!! I can't wait!!!!!
Remember, there was a throw-away line in Avengers:Endgame where Okoye was talking to Natasha about an underwater disturbance near Wakanda. When Natasha asked what were they going to do about it, Okoye said something to the effect of 'We will ignore it...' Welp, guess they won't be able to ignore it anymore.
I think Ryan Coogler and the Russo brothers have done more to dial in some legitimate stakes into the MCU that it will be difficult for other directors to match them. But first and foremost, it starts with story, story, story...this looks like it will be quite an emotional ride.

It’s not just the difference in the suit .. that’s obvious… it’s the difference in body size. In the first trailer the panther was larger. In this trailer we all know for a fact that the panther shown is clearly a woman.

N’Jadaka (Killmonger)… for so many reasons. There’s no way that Michael B Jordan wasn’t going to be in this 2nd film after having such a huge impact in the first. He & Ryan Coogler are best friends. So I’m sure Ryan wrote the N’Jadaka character back into this film. Highly doubt they would risk not having him in it knowing TChalla won’t be in it. Can’t risk not having both the first films main 2 attractions in this sequel. Then the obvious color patterns of the mantle in the first trailer. The black & gold. We know who wears those colored mantles. We never seen him getting buried in the first film.. he just fell over to his side. Literally right on top of Shuri’s Lab. So i see 2 storyline scenarios. Either Shuri healed & saved him. Or the Wakandans granted his wish, buried him in the ocean , and then Namor’s people revived him some how. But then when seeing how they attacked Wakanda he becomes the warrior defender Wakanda needs. That’s how I see this going. Also keep in mind This film is close to 3 hours long. So there is wwwaaay more going on in this then the few couple scenes we were shown in these trailers.

Namor is one of the OGs too. He was created three years before Aquaman, way back in 1939. He’s the oldest Marvel character along with Captain America, and the original Android Human Torch. These rookies, lol.

This just amplifies my anticipation for the movie. Looks absolutely stunning, powerful, and emotional! This is Marvel’s bread and butter. I know this movie will deliver to cap off Phase 4 and 2022.

OH MY GOD! That Black Panther at the end! What if it's Angela Bassett who is 64. She is fit enough to strike an unforgettable pose in that suit. Even if they just show her putting on the suit during an emergency until someone else can take up the mantel of the Black Panther. A stunt double could take over from there since her face would be covered. OMG! Women from around the world would feel so empowered. After all, she is the queen of the most powerful nation in the world and she looks like she could slap you into next week if she needed to!

Kukulkán (The Feather Serpent God) God of Wind, Storms, Rain and Life. As a Hispanic it brings me great pride that my ancestors will be represented by way of Namor.

Namor is the first mutant ever and the first superhero/antihero to be able to fly in the comics, even before superman amd his ankle wings are his most recognizable feature.
Also Kukulcan is a real god from mexican/mesoamerican cultures, mayans called it kukulcan and it's also known by the aztecs but they called it Quetzalcoatl.

The teaser and trailer for Wakanda Forever is perhaps the best pieces of marketing Marvel Studios has ever done. I've re-watched both a scary amount of times. Phase 4 has been all over the place in terms of quality but it looks like it's wrapping up on an incredibly high note.
I'm hoping Coogler gets the chance to make Secret Wars if he wants.

I don't think Angela Bassett's Queen Ramonda survives this film, but there's no way Namor kills her. He's the main antagonist but not a typical "villain." IMO, it seems she may not even make it out of the FIRST ACT! She's not in ANY of the trailer footage from later in the film and her voice at the end ("Show them who we are.") is digitally modified with vocal effects to give a very specific sound (almost dreamlike). I think it sounds like that because she's speaking to Shuri on the ancestral plane, after Shuri has taken the herb in preparation to become the Black Panther. It makes even more sense for Shuri to don the suit once she's lost both her brother/best friend AND her mother; both the King AND Queen. She is next in line in the royal succession, so it makes all the sense in the world that she would step-up as Black Panther to help protect HER people in the third act. It's also just obvious it's her in that suit due to the dots on the face of the helmet that match her face paint from the first "Black Panther" film PERFECTLY.

I wonder if Namor's opening lines are him saying that to Queen Romanda on that beach scene with him in front of her.
It could be Nakia (in the suit)also because then Romanda could retire as active Queen. Shuri can then take up the crown, Riri can be Wakanda's allied version of Ironman, general Okoye can still lead the Dora Milage and Nakia can be the new Black Panther and carry out T'Challa's outreach plan once they secure their home again.
Since Romanda was a Dora milage general once, I am hoping that she gets to square up a little with Namor before the BP steps in. I know she led the warriors in the WHAT IF...? series when Eric was pretending to help them.
Nakia was a wardog spy and combat trained.
Shuri is the daughter of a former Dora Milage general and a long line of BPS. As a royal, it may have been a mandatory thing for her to be trained to fight, but we just haven't seen it, nor did she seem too invested in that side of it. Her brother had a high I.Q. and was a genius, but she is a natural protege. That's where her focus was.
So Disney could put either one in the suit and just use Shuri for the trailer as a leak spoiler decoy. You know how they like to make extra footage to do that.
The suit seems to incorporate Wakandan warriors. The mask is similar in style of both T'chaka and T'challa. There are Shuri's ceremonial dots and Eric Kilmonger's suit, which Shuri created. The silver and gold blend...this could be Nakia repping for the culture. She was the one who suggested to T'challa first about outreaching their resources to help the world way before Eric showed up and wanted to do the same thing but in a hostile take over way.
I think Nakia will wear the suit and honor what T'challa was doing last from the end credits of the first movie.
I also thought it was suspicious that we only saw her once in this trailer, and very quickly. She might be the one....or one of many.
There was buzz talk about T'challa dying from cancer as well.
Now what I think would work is that he wore the suit throughout all the snaps that happened and during the Endgame battle. His suit absorbes energy and all of that space radiation between the snaps and Thanos' military weapons he may have absorbed too much and it overwhelmed his body into stage 4 cancer, like Jane's body in Thor 4. She had an Infinity Stone coursing in her body. If she didn't have the Mutant X gene that was passed down from the descendants of the human eternals and deviants, who were created by the Celestials and later on Kree experiments, then it explains her getting hit so quickly. Her mom had cancer but Jane was healthy as far as we know, until after the Infinity Stone.
The vibranium that landed on their country thousands or millions of years ago was of space radiation material. It infused the soil with it that they have used to grow crops and incorporated into their daily lives. The royal family's bps have taken the heart shaped flower for bp powers.
For all we know, the snaps could have activated any dormant powers some may have if any of them are descendants of the above I mentioned, then this can tie into Namor and the Xmen mutant arcs coming in phase 5.
T'challa could have been one who's body was conditioned by the herb flower, but not enough to withstand the impact of the amount his body absorbed because he is naturally not a descendants and maybe his sister and/or Nakia is.

Definitely 2 times opening weekend, then a week to fully digest the film before once or twice more in theaters. At least one of those will be in IMAX.

Ruth Carter is the costume designer for this and the original BP. She won an Oscar for the first movie and it looks like she's on her way to a second. Just like the set designer Hannah Beachler did who us back for BP2 as well.

There's even a leaked photo of the new Lego toy of Shuri as the new Black Panther in the suit without the Panther mask. You can see her curly hair and everything. I just can't wait to see how she does as the Black Panther and see her training to assume the mantle.

I'm SO pumped to see ALL of the brilliant, incredible changes Marvel made to Namor in order to differentiate him from Aquaman as much as possible. He's not even from Atlantis in the MCU. Atlantis doesn't exist in the MCU. Marvel, Feige, Coogler & the creatives at Marvel went ALL-IN on their new take on Namor.
It's a brand new Mesoamerican interpretation of Namor & his home. So much better than playing it safe. The whole idea was so inspired. They coukd have kept it as Atlantis and just tried to do it better than DC or they could have made-up an entirely fictitious place to replace Atlantis. Instead, they found another fabled city, Talocan, that is rooted in the history and lore of a real-life ancient civilization.
Talocan is based on Tlālōcān ("place of Tlāloc"), a mythical, paradisiacal Aztec city or realm. I mean, Marvel REALLY did their research. Ryan Coogler made sure to give Namor, his home & his people the same kind of love, care & attention to detail that he gave to T'Challa, Wakanda & its people in the first Black Panther film.
They went much further than Talocan, though. They found a way to make Namor a commanding presence without necessarily making him a King. He's been changed from King of Atlantis to Kukulkan (or K’uk’ulkan), a Mesoamerican serpent deity ("the Feathered Serpent God"), who was worshipped by both the ancient Aztec & Mayan civilizations.
The pyramid that has seemingly been a focal point in much of the Namor & Co. promotional material looks just like "La Pirámide" (aka "Temple of Kukulkan" or just "Kukulkan"). It's a real Mesoamerican pyramid located in Chichén Itzá in the Mexican state of Yucatán & was actually a temple to Kukulkan. It dates WAY BACK to somewhere between the 8th and 12th centuries.

The scene with Shuri building the suit makes me wonder if Tony left behind more than just the glasses for Peter. Maybe he left some contingency to get Shuri an ARC reactor if something happened to T'Challa?
