@@yamamotomechbattles Ok I can't get angry at the devs for almost going bankrupt making the VN. There was supposed to be a really cool scene in the VN showing many battlefields (not just the Kashgar Hive) but they ran out of money so they had to scrap it and just make a quick montage instead.
The EML types 99 is more like a laser cannon than railgun if this is a rapid fire railgun then were the hell did they get that amount of electricity from and the battery would have been very large.
I don't think it's mentioned in the anime, but the VN states that it uses G-Elements. To the rest of the Japanese, Yokohama Base is this mysterious facility that produces all sorts of bizarre tech.

It'd be amazing, but I think ammo, cooling, and power supply would be the main drawbacks, especially on a chassis that is less than mobile compared to a TSF
@@yamamotomechbattles I think with proper support vehicles and a bigger tank chase a tank defending a static defense line would make better use of it then a TSF behind enemy lines were resupply is not an option and the weapon makes close combat almost Impossible
I think there were a couple images in the VN where Hinds were shown attacking the herds, as well as a couple lines about how they needed to go back and rearm

That's kind of the irony of them butting heads so much...like Yuuya and Yui, everyone can clearly see how much better they'd be working together except for them (at first). TDA definitely goes into this a little more for sure

The issue of nationalism in the Japanese military served as a good side-antagonist for the UN in this particular story. But the Soviets were the real troublemakers, even for their own troops, "Oops, let's just cover up what they discovered by bombing our troops on accident"

This was one was more about the politics than the fighting. It was about the Soviets jockeying with the UN and Japan for control of the railgun, and showing how the USSR was willing to sacrifice their own people and even let the BETA take over a base just so they can get the tech. The battle was a background thing, but the real conflict of the arc was preventing the Soviets from getting what they wanted. I portray it as a straightforward battle here because I'm telling it from a fictional war historian's POV

Well it is late into the war and they've conscripted women, and in some places have drafted young teens as well. Less war torn nations like the US still have a higher ratio of men to women. So there are explanations. But yeah, the story is ultimately about love, buried deep beneath the violence and drama...it's not just the reason why people fight, but also why they live. The usual anime romance tropes are everywhere by this point, but it's cool if they're not your thing. I enjoy the worldbuilding first and foremost here.
