Thank you all for the support! Some repeating things I've seen in the comments: 1. *Two Hours!?*: From this point forward the main story gets incredibly dense. I can definitely cut out a lot more than I did in the video, but the goal of the summaries is to not leave out anything important to the main story. Ch. 1 - Ch. 10 had a lot of dedicated stories only meant for world building/lore explanations which meant I could skip it or condense it to a small explanation. This is just not the case after Chapter 10. Aside from the random T-Dolls that appear and have scenes to advertise them, every scene starts to matter in some way (and even the random T-Dolls start becoming story-relevant later on). 2. *You mispronounced "Bel-gra-de"!*: I'm sorry! I was confident I was right so I never checked. I'm an American weeb so I'm forced to improve as I go. *Ep.3?*: I got Ep 2 out crazy fast but it was at the cost of ignoring the holiday season. So the aim will be End of Dec if not beginning of Jan. Again, thanks for all the support. I truly appreciate it.
Appreciate all the work you do man, but please, don't ignore your own rest for the sake of a video. The game will be there once you're well rested, and there will still be people looking for recaps because frankly, understanding the entirety of GFL1 is such a herculean task that barely anyone has done it. Happy holidays mate, thanks for everything.
Great work mate! Don't burn yourself out though! Take breaks whenever you feel like it and take your time. There's no rush to push these out and we will still enjoy your vids :D Happy holidays!
Fantastic work, dude. As someone who only played up to around chapter 5 in GFL1 and is now full swing into GFL2, your videos are a god send in getting some better understanding of the world and lore. Keep it up (please), but also remember to take care of yourself in the meantime!
My only recommendation here, and I could be heavily outvoted, is that the specifics of any of the given singular engagement could be narrowed down a lot more. To understand the plot and chain of events, we don't really need to know "M4 starts shooting at so and so, then they shot at AK-12, but actually AN-94 was flanking then the whole time!" Yada-yada, so on and so forth. "The team worked together to outmaneuver the enemies." Would be entirely sufficient... But im sure there are probably a lot of people who enjoy long and specific videos, so le shrug. It just feels like there is WAY too much granular details provided here to call it a "extremely abbreviated summary" at this point.
@@CurtDegree I've been back 'n forth on this while I was working on this. I could definitely just cut it down to "M4 and AK-12 gets attacked by the ringleaders but they saw this coming and they ended up dominating the fight." I decided against it because it emphasizes on how smart/strong M4 and AK-12 is compared to the competition. Overall though I always look out for feedback when it comes to stuff like this, because it's true that I can reduce the combat details and it'd lower the runtime by a good amount.
And only for chapter 11 and Isomer event :) Shattered Connexion and Polarized Light will be very spicy. These 2 event's plot points are even showcased in the Flames of War gfl2 trailer because of how good they are in the story lol
Isomer is the peak exemple of "You really thought Singularity and Continuum turbulence situation went FUBAR? Hold my Beer and the others bigboys behind me will make me look like the appetizer"
Belgrade is not an independent country, it's a city within the Yugoslavian Federation (mentioned a few times as an independent entity from both NSU and Pan-European Union), which is a neutral country, hence why it was chosen for the conference. Belgrade used to be the capital city of Yugoslavia (IRL modern day Serbia), but the capital was moved elsewhere due to the city's proximity to the contaminated zones. Pronounciation was... rough, to say the least. The closest to English would be "bell - grade", or "bell - grad", depending on where you are. The native name is "Beograd" (Beo - grad), literally transalted to "The White City". The monument to WW3 victims which Ange stands in front of is actuall a real life monument, "Monument to the Unkown Hero", although IRL it was dedicated to the victims of the first two Balkan Wars and WW1, which was built to honor the people who fought for the unification of the first Yugoslavia. So even the GFL interpretation of it was the same as the IRL interpretation of the monument. The cathedral the Commander hunkered down in is also a faithful recreation of the "Church of Saint Sava", one of the largest Christian Orthodox churches in the world (and Christian churches in general). The building where the conference took place is the parliament building of Serbia, which looks pretty much exactly the same as in game. Just like the Belgrade Fortress and the Opera, which is the Belgrade Theatre. The last stand of the garrisson officer Dragovic is reminiscent of the WW1 last stand in Belgrade by the Serbian army, where the whole company stood their ground in the city of Belgrade, with a very popular and historic speech by major Dragutin Gavrilovic (funnilly enough, when you combine first part of the name Dragutin and the last part of the last name Gavrilovic, you get Dragovic), where the three battalions under his command stood their ground against the German and Austro-Hungarian combined attack on capital city Belgrade. The valliant defence was so heroic an impressive that, although it failed to stop the Germans, inspired the German commander August von Mackensen to erect a monument himself in Belgrade, to honor the brave defenders who gave their lives in defence of their fatherland, even to just slow the enemy down. The three battalions were pretty much completely wiped out, although major Gavrilovic did survive, although badly wounded. His speech inspired the song by Sabaton, "Last Dying Breath".
Hehehe, well major events at this point of the story are 60 stages or more :). To compare, if we to compare regular chapter stages with their emergency and night type stages, they only add up to 14 stages.
Thanks for the hard work! Saw episode 1 just before meeting Kalina in GF2 so it helped to understand her background a bit better. And ofc put other things into perspective. Looking forward to watching this one :D

Thank you so much for these videos. I was so confused when I saw Kalina and they game acted as if we should know her. Had to look up who Dandelion was too.
No no he doesn't , he also intentionally changes stuff to suit his narrative while ignoring cannonicity of things like saying the gender is ambiguous when canonically its female
@@cropathfinder Mate gonna have to respond to these statements. The gender of the commander is NOT canonically female. The anime and manga may have USED Gentiane (a female), but the game does not have a canon gender with Gfl2 reinforcing this. The anime and manga used her due to it being more simple and how are were they gonna show the commander without a gender for a show lol. A black circle and question mark in the middle is not going to fare well lol. Also, he DID NOT change the narrative. The narrative he has told follows the event stages in order as the game has them for simplicity AND he has cut things out due to him having to try and balance video length AND also make it not too complicated. Anything he has cut out is not super major to the storyline. For example, sure the last video part 1 cut of a good chunk of 404's story but thats alright since in the main view scene, it is practically mostly a side show in the lore that just introduces the squad with its actions, in that event, important connections to the main story being mostly easy to explain in a good couple sentences.
@@Aguywholikesplaguedoctors I believe he is just mad at the gender thing and whats to drama it, since he explicitly talked about it when he said "things" and never said anything about what "changes stuff" is referring.
Thank you very much, at least for now when gf2 characters speak to each other with a nisolga tone , I could understand where that comes from, especially Kalin
This is where the story gets very long mate :D The video is able to cover that much since each chapter is only 6 stages with emergency and night battles to compliment is 4 each giving a total of 14 stages of story to cover for each chapter but with night battles not being too significant lore, I will just say 10. The events from chapters 1-10 were also only about 5-6 stages per chapter with events usually having 2--4 chapters. Adding onto this, the dialogue for each stage was relatively short or moderately long. Past these chapters though, the events became way more bigger with 60-90 stages long with dialogue also being lengthened and more deep in info. Hero is gonna have to make mutiple parts to cover them tbh since he still has 14 major events with the addition of chapter 12 and 13 with where currently is in the lore rn.
@@Aguywholikesplaguedoctors Ah fair enough. I'm new to the series and there's a lot of backstory that I'd like to know while playing GFL2. Surprised how deep this goes.
@@Roxas13XIII Yup, these videos are great since lore is quite a scarce topic on youtube for this game. Takes a lot of time looking through 6+ hours of dialogue per event and reading the 600 pages of lore organized on docs which many dont have (I verifably have questioned my life doing all that lol) so we have to thank Hero for doing this :D.
Oh snap! Somebody reproduced that phenomena in GFL2!!!!!! Oh man! Thank to this video I finally got the link to how it connected to the greater lore!!!!!
Knowing the story i did bet with my friends that it would take you at the very least 3 episode to cover the whole story... Look like i won that bet already :D
Well, I was kind of wondering why there were no American AR's in Exilium... thanks for informing me that it's because they're way too plot-important to be recruitable yet.
Bel-gra-day?....... OHHHHH you mean Bel-grade, that one threw me for a loop, thought it was some fantasy city until I remembered this was set in IRL Europe.
I'm not sure if Mica messed up or I'm mistaken, but 40 is holding a UMP9 in the opening. I'm certain at no point in the story did 45 had to hold 9 at gunpoint the same way she did with 40.
Dont think they did. I see ump40 being held at gunpoint by ump45 during operation butterfly due to their hair styles and weapon models. Ump40 has long hair while ump9's hair is usually tied in ponytails. Ump45 also looks normal.
curious whats gonna happen with chapter15+. are we gonna have to wait until the event finishes in global or are you aware of what happens in cn. also thank you so much for making this series and am glad your channel grew from it.
I've been following the story in CN so I know what happens. It's undecided of if I'll wait or not. The big issue is having the footage for the visual summary, since I don't have a CN account.
So...what happens if they find all of the spike nodes? Does M4 or M16 reach a godlike status or something? or is it another ploy on M4 so she could have another breakdown?
Whoever found out all pike nodes will have the right to open the gate to Zion (an out of universe space time continuum digitized consciousness alien virtual world) and use thise alien's Relic technology to master Collapse and Reverse Collapse phenomenom.
Collapse phenomenom enable human to deconstruct an object into most fundamental form. Reverse Collapse phenomenom enable human to reconstruct all fundamental matter into its original form. These two phenomenom enables humans to be God.
In the end of GFL 1, M4A1 already merged with coalescent OGAS Consciousness to create Lunasia von Oberstein. She is the key that will enable humans that interacted with pike nide to access Zion.
To sum up what minuteman said, since he is correct, the pike nodes allow the opening of the gate to Zion which is a weird alien virtual world thing. If you activate a relic, you are able to use collapse and reverse collapse particles to create phenomenas such as teleporting. Minute saying M4A1 merging with ogas (all according to William's plan) actually happens in an event after this video so you won't probably understand that yet unless you ask for the context. This allows her to be accepted by the relic technology and become basically a key that activates them and can use the particles in anyway she likes. It is however important to note the relic sites are what allows this not the pike nodes, the nodes are just a step in activating the sites I believe from memory.
"Before we begin" Yes how about we stop there.... an additional TWO HOUR "heavily abbreviated" summary and its not listed as the final part??? Wtf was GFL1?? Im coming in cold to GFL2 because waifus and I clearly dont know what Im getting myself into it seems 😅
JFC still misinformation based on the guys bias , again gender is not "ambiguous" is canonically female according to writers and the male option is there for those who wanna play a male character. Also learn to properly pronounce names, like here "Belgrade" you can easily find how to properly pronounce it, its a real city in south-east europe the capitol modern day Serbia.
Will say again from my other reply, this is not canon. The gender is intended to be ambiguous. Adding on, the writers have had dp28 calling the commander a male in dialogue lol. The writers are prone to make mistakes. The info you've listed must have been a mistake by the writers lol. It's quite clear they prefer the commander ambiguous by with him being called commander and not his gender everywhere he goes. Also bluemorpho below me explains in depth the writing issues of the manga and its drama with this issue :D
[Characterization of the Commander/Codename Robin/John Frontline] As we know, the Commander is not just a mute self-insert character without thoughts, acting merely as a walking camera. Since as early as 2018, through the Singularity event (or perhaps even earlier in Chapters 9/10-feel free to correct me), the Commander has evolved into a fully-fledged character with dialogue and independent thoughts. The Commander actively participates in the story and interacts with other characters. When speaking, they use their own voice, not through another character or a mascot. Other characters also actively respond to what the Commander says, not through telepathy. Moreover, the Commander is just an ordinary human being. They’re not "the chosen one," a divine descendant, or someone who has cultivated power for 1,000 years. They’re just your average John-like any of us-who got scammed into a job that doesn’t match the description in the listing. Over time, the Commander grows and develops from a mere intern into a reliable and resilient figure. The story often portrays the Commander as a fatherly figure to the 300+ (dorky) dolls on the base. This relatable aspect makes many players connect with the character. [The Issue with Gentiane] Gentiane is the Commander in the official comics written by Ling. The dislike towards her character stems from issues related to Ling. Ling is known for altering or even removing certain iconic and fan-favorite plot points in the story-for example, the scene where Kryuger hands a pistol to the Commander around Chapter 5. Ling is also seen as arrogant when criticized, claiming that she has full authority to write the story as she pleases. Gentiane’s character differs from John Frontline (the in-game Commander). She’s often viewed as a “Mary Sue” or a flawless character, essentially a “perfect” figure without any flaws. In modern weeb terms, she might be described as the “Author's wet dream.” This perception leads many fans to dismiss Gentiane as non-canon, seeing her as Ling’s OC/self-insert. For those less extreme, Gentiane is merely considered an alternate-universe Commander. [Conclusion] The differences in characterization between Robin/John Frontline and Gentiane make many perceive them as entirely separate figures. The past drama with Ling further complicates the matter. Even though the design of the female Commander in GFL2 only resembles Gentiane externally without sharing her personality, many fans already associate her with a tarnished image-similar to the author of Hataraku Maou-sama trying to write a new novel with a different illustrator. The existence of Gentiane is seen by some as damaging to the established character of Robin/John Frontline. This sentiment is akin to what fans feel when Disney or Netflix alter iconic characters in ways they dislike. TL;DR: This isn’t a gender issue. Fans are primarily concerned with Ling and the writing and characterization of Gentiane. For instance, no one has raised issues with the design of the Female Professor in the Neural Cloud series. Ultimately, you’re free to choose which Commander design you prefer. This essay aims to educate people about past dramas and their lasting effects today. robin femc imgur.com/a/anu5NaQ edit : typos
@@bluemorpho3221 Great essay! This really is just a writing issue tbh but it's quite clear the direction of the games was to keep the gender of the commander decided by us ,the players, picking what our head canon for it is.

¡¡¡Silencio!!! Mi novela (soap opera) empezó.
oh hell yeah i was just rewatching part 1
I love the videos for gfl lore I look forward 2 the next part
Knowing the story i did bet with my friends that it would take you at the very least 3 episode to cover the whole story... Look like i won that bet already :D
33:38 Its gives me Ace Combat Zero Vibes
rossartrism is really just chinese knockoff accelerationism
Thank you for your hard work ❤
BEEN WAITIN FOR THIS
Sweet! Really appreciate the videos.
Well, I was kind of wondering why there were no American AR's in Exilium... thanks for informing me that it's because they're way too plot-important to be recruitable yet.
W video, can't wait for part 3
Bel-gra-day?....... OHHHHH you mean Bel-grade, that one threw me for a loop, thought it was some fantasy city until I remembered this was set in IRL Europe.
peak video as always
You are doing gods work
My daily dose of PTSD with my beloved robots(don't ask why robot have PTSD)
Thanks for this. Good stuff
is there an expected release time for PT3? i had wanted to play gfl 1 but the game won't download for me
With the holidays coming up, he's looking to get it out last part of December to early January. (Pinned Post)
LETS GOOO , thanks for the vid
More new lore in my head
just what i needed for my shift
im loving the recap so far as i havent played GFL1 since 2021, but my brother in christ it's pronounced bel-grade/bel-grayd not bel-grah-day.
SopMod2 my beloved 😩
THIS IS 1 CHAPTER?!
been try understand the plots and story. too extensive and confusing, thank alot for video to clear things out
I'm not sure if Mica messed up or I'm mistaken, but 40 is holding a UMP9 in the opening.
@@Aguywholikesplaguedoctors Guess Mica gave 40 the wrong gun model in the opening cinematic.
@@ianchoi7142 Most likely
curious whats gonna happen with chapter15+. are we gonna have to wait until the event finishes in global or are you aware of what happens in cn. also thank you so much for making this series and am glad your channel grew from it.
@@minuteman21 damn... Which event did this happen? I was always confused since there's a lot of immortalized events... Is it Shattered Connexion?
Finally at long Last ,part 2 is here🤩🤩🤩?!
Dang, this game is more political than expected.
When are we gonna get to Frankfrut? I wanna know what happens.
Not going to add soon, I mean it's literally the final chapter
Ooh! Ep 2!
Wicked cool!
Can you do a Incorrect Summary version of Girl Frontline 1's story, cuz my brain have memory problems with long big words.
thanks
How does chapter 1-10 summary is shorter than chapter 11-11.5 💀
Ch 1-10 is basically the introduction to GFL Universe/Micaverse. Future chapters will way longer, especially in German Saga
Bell-Graad
Time for cinema...
and i wanted to go to sleep, hah time to dig in
>Bel-gra-de
Sentenced to a date with an Iaso's box
*sweat*
I expected a brief overview, not a complete retelling of a single story chapter
Gotta milk it i guess
"Before we begin" Yes how about we stop there.... an additional TWO HOUR "heavily abbreviated" summary and its not listed as the final part??? Wtf was GFL1?? Im coming in cold to GFL2 because waifus and I clearly dont know what Im getting myself into it seems 😅
HOURS?
FAMILY
bel grah day.
[Characterization of the Commander/Codename Robin/John Frontline]
As we know, the Commander is not just a mute self-insert character without thoughts, acting merely as a walking camera.
[The Issue with Gentiane]
Gentiane is the Commander in the official comics written by Ling.
[Conclusion]
The differences in characterization between Robin/John Frontline and Gentiane make many perceive them as entirely separate figures.

@@bluemorpho3221 Great essay! This really is just a writing issue tbh but it's quite clear the direction of the games was to keep the gender of the commander decided by us ,the players, picking what our head canon for it is.
Ling is trash no one talks about the manga or anime lmfao
