- From their performance at the London Palladium in a test colour broadcast. I've upmixed the mono audio to stereo and enhanced the colour on the video as far as possible. My thanks to MixerRog for his help in boosting Judith's voice in the mix - head over to his channel for some great mono-to-stereo mixes.
A DVD, 'The legendary TV Specials' (featuring all The Seekers' big hits and much more) is available to buy online and has spent 6 months in the Australian music DVD chart, much of the time at #1! More videos from Judith and The Seekers on the playlists below:

There are moments in which Judith throws the high notes with such unbelievable control and strength that the impact on the listener is just incredible. And she is aware of that! This is certainly one of her ( and the group´s) best recorded presentations.
Judith Durham has the most beautiful female voice and articulation that I have ever heard in my 74.5 years!
She is magic
I agree 100%.
I’m only 69.5 years old, when I was in high school I had a massive crush on her.
I think I still do! Lol
Ain't that truth
Dear Judith, now you are singing with your fellow Angels. God bless you. Thank you for all the joy you have given us and are still giving us! 🙏💖🙏💝🙏💗🙏🌴🇮🇩🌴💖❣️
judith will always be one of God's angels too
Singing always and forever praising our Heavenly Father. Thank you for sharing this video.

Yes. Thank you Judith Durham for opening up the Pearly Gate of my heart. God Bless you after now having entered the Pearly Gates of Heaven!
Judith is probably the most beautiful woman singer to step on a stage.
The voice of an earth angel!
I agree Sharon
Angels will learn the how to sing from Judith... Hell on earth...I miss her.... I was born in 1n 1954, had her all my life..now really miss her.. . GOD BLESS.
Hey seekers, God those were the days, good on ya Judith. Lest we forget
What I love about it is that she doesn't hide behind a gimmick, some quirky sound, she doesn't even so much as lean into a specific vocal characteristic.
In many singers, this would reveal lack of substance and just sound bland and unimaginative as a result but in her case it allows you to listen to a voice that is not aggressively unique, yet very distinct - honest, almost naive, unfiltered and unaltered.
11/10
They sound real.
@@scottyjohnson3120
Exactly
Almost naive? Hmm. She trained to be a opera singer from when she was maybe 18 at the Melbourne (University) Conservatorium of Music.
@@kerrinorourke5914
Yes.
the harmonizing, the highs and lows perfections
Much better separation than in previous videos of this performance. And Judith’s singing, hard to believe this a 22 year old singing under the pressure of a national audience. She shows the same power as in “We’re Movin On.”
So bloody good. It still stands up all these years later. The watermark of BRilliant group
I was 1 year old then . Wish i could have seen them live . Totally captivating . 4 beautiful people
Judith has the voice of an ANGEL!
Judith's experience as a Jazz singer is displayed in this and other songs with the group.
Agree
How can anyone put a thumbs down on Judith and the Seekers... !!! They are insane!
Not enough autotune, costume changes and dancing about...
@@AZCobraman Dont need it the voice of Judith makes up for all that.
Ya think?
I alway have my thumbs up for judith durham an the seekers even for today too
@@AZCobramando YOU think? is the question.
This was the first video I ever saw, oh heck at least 10 years ago, and from that moment I was sold for Judith Durham and her Seekers. Means a huge lot to me every time.... Cause I had enormous troubles mainly on mental level and i don't think anyone can now what I've been through... It's just too much and too hard to even explain. Thank God there's this song and I can sing it to make clear; life's just one rainy day to me and still is.
I bedlieve if everybody writes a letter to the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame to put this Angel and these boys into the Hall of Fame they will get in this year with lots of hope too
Agree.
By far the clearest version of this amazing performance. They had just been home in Aus for the first real extended time off since making it big, and you could tell the energy in their performance. The whole show was one of their best ever.
Now THAT'S soulful!
The visual and musical aspects of this video are simply stunning. The impact of Judith´s beauty ( fully displayed in colour here) alongside her incredible voice is mesmerizing. Glory on Earth.
I love the Seekers. Beautiful song. Beautiful and sweet Judith's voice.
Judith recently said she doesn't have the greatest voice in the world. I have to disagree.
Yeah me to m8. She is Awesome
As do I.
Just being humble/honest lol
Christ, stone the, crows ehhhhh Judith where did you get that from
Respectfully of course.
Glory to Jesus Christ forever
Once again - perfection! ❤
Just incredible
Such effortless high notes
Dear Judith Durham in Heaven forever and ever RIP with angels
Beautiful voice, Judith
Thanks.
Best of the best.
Thank you!
Love her
They sound great here too and you can hear the jazz from judith durham here too
I need this hymn desperately nowadays.
RIP Louis Armstrong & Judith Durham
Don't forget about Karen Carpenter too
Dear Judith Durham in Heaven forever and ever RIP with angels and Jesus Christ forever
Am still dealing with my past and my trouble i start to see them all the time and been clean and sober for over 33yrs now
Fantastic!
love them
Amazing
lovely
Thanks again Rich, I love this track.
The best female voice ever? I think so.
yes but this is all about her body size back then because later in the 1990's she talks about it too
@@larryvermeer6170 I don't understand!
@@airager what you don't understand here
@@larryvermeer6170 I don't understand the relevance of her size!
@@airager i don't understand myself about her size too but she looks just perfect too
Rich ive only just discovered your channel. Fantastic man! Judith and the boys, happy to see something’s never change 👍
Thanks Dean!
I have new hope for 3 Children from Bowra.
Thanks to you.
Lynette Dawson.
Imagine Judith in a Broadway Musical!
Listen & watch for the neat little guitar exchange between Keith & Bruce on "Glory Hallelujah" @ :50 ,1:32 ,and 2:13.
rich963 i used to love the group ABBA when they said they was going to do a reunion tour an never say they was coming to Canada and i stop listening to their music too and i given there cassettes and records away to a store here too.
I agree, about her voice..that been said, there is a 1913 acoustic Victor records # 19560A of Marian Anderson singing it. Both this version and the Victor are gripping and beautiful
but in different was. Even with the severe limitations of a Victor "Bat Wing" pressing it will pull you. -History of Recorded Sound
All so good
one of the songs on the dukebox in doctor who the evil of the daleks episode one along with paperback writer
No autotune.
❤ RIP Judit ❤From Sweden ❤ SLAVA UKRAINA ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
sepranos wonderfull
Good old Judith sock it to them
Very good, Rich!!
Rich, Great job -- my contribution was really nothing compered to your work on this. Rog
What trouble was it again, I had, when I came to see this video?
I forgot.
Not bad for a song that’s over 154 years old.
Athol Guy 😍
I'm interested in "From their performance at the London Palladium in a test colour broadcast". I'm not sure what colour system UK broadcasters were experimenting with in 1966 (NTSC-625? PAL?); you've done a good job on enhancing the colour.
PAL 625 - but ITV wasn't set up for it yet when this was filmed. They filmed it in colour to send abroad.
@@rich963 Thanks for replying! Is your clip from a film print then? Either way, it's excellent quality: if from video it's unbelievable, if from film it's been very well kept - no spots or streaks that I could see, just a slight artefact at the right edge. But the colour is more muted than most colour from that long ago. Either way, well done on whatever you did to enhance it!
This fits how she was really feeling about her self to
SHELDON COOPER SANG THIS SONG ON THE BIG BANG THEORY.
Haven't seen that one yet :0
This song is really about judith durham about her feelings about her body size here too
🎵🎶
omg
Jennifer Lawrence could play the role of Judith Durham in a movie.
Definitely not their best song. All others are the best. Loved them since early 70's. They have disbanded. Judith was ill for a while, but is still cognitive. I am 10 years younger than her, but her non self importance (just your regular Aussie Sheila) still attracts me to her.
It displays Judith's wonderful controlled voice.
@@whatwouldiknow1759 Listening to it fully Judith shows what you said. How can I marry her and have her wake me up with a song. It would be the best wake up call of anyone :-)
Judith durham signature hair style is her hair over her shoulder to
judith durham this all about her about her own wieght problems here in the 1960's too she talks about in later life too here
I think this song is about judith durham an her own wieght problems what she going through back then too
Thumbs up if you came here from The Evil Of The Daleks. #DoctorWho
Does this song feature in that episode?
rich963 Well, the original version didn't, but the audio narration used this to replace the Beatles' Paperback Writer.
Go listen to Louis Armstrong do this song. He is the real thing.
my friend didn't know that louis armstrong did this song too
Not Englands favourites ... Austrailian favouites .... Sorry, i´m only german.
good evening rich963 thank God that judith didn't get plastic surgey on her cheecks because her voice would sound like an angel like here too'. Connie Francis got a nose job done an she never sound that great anymore too.

God speed Judith...love you ..
Just sublime
Amazing
