  • Ash demonstrates tips and tricks for fighting Envisioned in Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, discussing which weapons and abilities are effective and which are not, how to defend against their attacks, and how to permanently destroy them.
    UPDATE AND CORRECTION: A few people have commented that void strike actually will work to bring the Envisioned to their knees. I'm not sure how many hits this takes, but it's something to try if you want to keep your distance. Also, it's possible to bring them down by displacing into them.

    Nice analysis of the Envisioned gameplay ! Thanks !
    One thing you might have missed though is that they spawn Void Effigies from corpses. So the more you kill people around them, the more you'll have zombies to deal with

      That I did not know. I usually like trying to take care of the cultist before I go to the void so I don't have to worry about the envisioned and the cultist in the void...Wow now that is why I kept on dealing with those things.

    Void strike seems to work on them if they're in the middle of certain animations. I think when they do a forward rushing attack. It's good if you have the bonecharm which gives you slow time after hitting with void strike.

      Dishonored 2 canonically shifts between 2 timelines. The original timeline is where Aramis Stilton attended the ritual to resurrect Delilah, shattering his mind. This meant he could no longer run the mining operation, and his replacement was far less benevolent, pushing the workers too far, increasing the amount of silver dust and causing it to be renamed the Dust District, as well as causing civil unrest in the area. Meagan Foster had a run in with the Grand Guard, and lost her right arm and right eye.
      However, when Emily visits Stilton's Mansion looking for information on the ritual, the Outsider gives her a Timepiece, which she uses to go back in time to the night of the ritual and prevent Stilton from attending it. This results in the secondary timeline. If you stop Stilton from attending the ritual, you'll notice that Meagan has her arm and eye back when you see her again.
      From that point on, Meagan/Billie has a recurring nightmare of losing her arm and eye in the original timeline. More than that, she sometimes loses all sense and control of them. This is because time has fragmented around her. The Outsider then visits her and removes/replaces her arm and eye with a pair of Void artefacts, the Black Shard Arm and a Sliver of the Eye Of The Dead God, which is the artefact the Eyeless worship. These artifacts grant her her powers, as well as the ability to see Void hollows in the world, where the 2 timelines flicker and overlap one another.
      As for WHY he did it, who knows? Nobody can know for sure what the Outsider thinks or why he grants people gifts and strange abilities. What I find interesting is that Emily was given a choice to either accept or reject his Mark. Billie was given no such choice. He grabbed her and forcibly took her natural arm and eye, leaving her with the artifacts bonded to her.
      I do have a theory for why he did it. He only did it AFTER Daud told her of his plan to kill the Outsider. I think he wanted her to succeed. I think he wanted to die.

    • @JoeDP25
      @JoeDP25 6 років тому +41

      Nice summary, I knew about the dual timeline stuff with Stilton but was never clear on when Billie lost her arm and eye.
      Regarding your theory as to why the Outsider gave her the void artefacts, I think you're half right. He knew Daud and Billie's intentions, and he did want to ensure Billie would be successful in making it to the Ritual Hold. However, I don't think he necessarily wanted to die. At the start of the last mission, he appears to Billie and gives her a bit more info on the cult and the ritual. Specifically, he tells her about them cutting away his name and that if she cared to look, she might learn something about it. I think that when the Outsider discovered what Billie was setting out to do, he saw an opportunity to do something he'd wanted from the start - to escape the Void, but not necessarily to die. He nudged Billie in the direction of the knowledge which would allow her to rescue him from the Void rather than kill him if she so chose, but I suspect he was indifferent to either outcome. It's what he does - grant people power to succeed against massive odds and observe the choices they make. With Billie it was a win-win as he got to watch how she used the power he gave her, but either way it would end in his escape from the Void and eternal agony. Sort of like the final act in a play where he picked the cast himself, and no matter how the story ended, the curtain would fall as his near-omniscience ended along with his suffering.

    Hi the void strike is actually works but before using that you should really focus on defense and do not get hurt. Second, right click void strike, usually it takes 2 or 3 times to knee down him. Please note that for void strike I put the knife upside down. It some how generate more power to strike him. Hope that works for you : D (I think the Envision is hardest enemy to fight against in Dishonored )

    • @felynecomrade
      @felynecomrade 6 років тому +1

      Ded Mosh Clockworks were harder to kill, faster, and much more dangerous. The only thing about a Clockwork that makes them easier than an Envisioned is that you can drop assassinate them, and even then it takes 2 to kill them.

    • @mediumvillain
      @mediumvillain 6 років тому +3

      In Dishonored 2 at least you can get the Monkey Wrench masterwork sword upgrade that lets you assassinate them easily, but all you need to do is get above them somehow to take off their head & they're useless. Envisioned also have a major weakness: Displace interpenetration knocks them prone (and quietly). They're pretty similar though w/ that lethal primary sword-arm attack.

    • @fumofumo7815
      @fumofumo7815 6 років тому +3

      Clockworks are also easier because they can't blink and if you hit them enough they overheat. In Dishonored 2 the clockwork soldiers have a electronic burst. This made hitting them from range (or on top of a building or ledge) harder.
      Hit off their head and sneak off silently. Once their head is off the only thing they can do is target people with audio knowledge.
