After 4,000 years of cosmic imprisonment, and being set free once again onto the mortal plane, the Outsider finally got to do what he always wanted - gather for whiskey & cigars tonight!
Dishonored: The Veiled Terror novel offers a glimpse into what the world is now like without the Outsider. And I will say only this; it has had consequences.
"All things end. All things burn to ash. But you, my friend, burn bright." "The song's almost over. And when the music stops, we all fall down." ~The Outsider
I've just finished Dishonored DotO again, trying to find everything I've missed. Every book, every bit of writings. Hearing quotes...etc. Grew to love the story even more than I already have. My personal way was the non-lethal way of removing the Outsider. Billie, being so forgiving and sparing him, you could see his expression lighting up of being so thankful. Then, she offered to guide him out of the void so he could live his days out normally. With all of this happening, I wonder if the 'outsider' (Referring as that, since we still don't know his actual name) and Billie had a conversation while making their way out of the Void. It's quite a passage to get out of there... and all that time, I wonder if he perhaps told her about a lot of secrets of the world, or... perhaps about his own past in a way. Assuming that he trusts her, especially after being so thankful that he was spared. I dunno, just random thoughts floating my mind if they had some kind of conversation. (Perhaps if there would be a new Dishonored game, we could see an older Billie, knowing a lot more about the world than before because of it... But I doubt this'd happen. Again, just random curious thoughts!)
This is what i do as well after playing a good game or seeing a good movie. I ponder about the events and people of that fiction, what their lives would be like, what theoy would think and talk about. I imagine myself in their world a little longer. For me the most curious interaction between the Outsider and Billie was when he came into her cabin and forced the mark and the horrific transformation upon her. He never did that before, as far as we know, he always gave his annointed the option to take his gift or not. But not with Billie, he forced it upon her. This didnt sit right with me until i started to better understand the Outsider and his motivation. His actions and interferences with the world. Perhaps he saw a million different outcomes with his vision and they all ended very badly for the world IF Billie didnt accept his gift. Perhaps it would have doomed him to be trapped there for another millenia before the next capable soul that could figure out the location of his altar. I think that he forced his power on Billie in order to manipulate the outcome of events in his favor. He knew that with the current circumstances Billie would be the best agent capable of getting to the altar and releasing him, one way or another, so he could finally be free. And so he did... TY for your nice comment and if you really like these deep story driven games i recommend all the Bioshock games and the Legacy of Kain series, which in my book are the best stories in video game history. Enjoy.
Holy shit yes! I'm so glad you finally returned to Dishonored again, and you definitely didn't disappoint! Death of the Outsider was pretty bittersweet for me. It's great to finally come back to Karnaca, but knowing that Death of the Outsider might be the last Dishonored game for a while was pretty sad to hear about. Hopefully Arkane Studios' next game is just as good as Dishonored and Prey. I'm curious, what were your thoughts on Death of the Outsider? Seeing Daud finally pass away was pretty depressing...
I wish prey did better financially, I would love to have a game where you play as (SPOILER) the typhon with mirror neurons that you are revealed to be at the end of the game
Aaand they didn't. Instead they made a mediocre sandbox roguelite game with a minimal story and the powers from Dishonored and many guns... Such a shame. The good writers must have left the team after the Dishonored games...
This was fantastic. Your voice and narration style are very reminiscent of The Twilight Zone, which I love. I'm curious - is that a purposeful choice (it certainly fits your videos) or just your natural method?
Weston Maier Ha, thanks. I don’t think I do it intentionally, but Rod Serling is one my biggest inspirations, so it would make sense that he would have some influence over me.
Wooo hoooo!!!! Another Game Dig, and it’s Death of the Outsider?!?!?! Happy 2018, thanks for the incredibly consistent and unparalleled quality of your videos. We, your audience absolutely love every second of these. They are really transportive and get into the true depths of a ‘dig’. **getting cozy under my blankets** Can’t wait to see what new games/topics you have in store for us this year.
I know Im a little late to the party but been behind on my gaming as of late. Just wanna say thank you for your insight and theories towards this masterpiece of a story. You remind me of vatividia on darksouls lore. Fantastic content! Liked and subed after ine vid man!
Finally, I have been waiting for this video for what seems to be eternity, it's so good to have you back mate. PS: ONE OF THE BEST GAMES THAT YOU CAN COVER IS " THE VOID " by ICE PICK LODGE
You know what I wonder? With the Outsider freed from cosmic imprisonment and set loose to wander the world, wouldn't people recognize him as the literal god of the Void that they have seen in their dreams? Half the world would absolutely lose their shit, and the other half, mostly consisting of the Overseers, would get extremely ticked off and immediately go into kill mode at the very sight of him just walking down the street.
Interesting point. Im sure he would think of this and just disguise his face in a way when walking out in daylight. Or maybe he would just disfugure his own face in order to leave a modest quiet life, like he always wanted. I also dont think he would keep any of his powers and would simply become a simple man, enjoying the platitude of being simply human without seeing the multitudes of the multivers or hearing the thoughts of millions of people. He would just retire in a quiet little house at the sea side and just enjoy a very simple life with his cats and his simple decorum. Or perhaps he would acquire a boat and travel to Pandissia and get lost there for ever...
This comes far late, but in light of Deathloop - I think there are some interesting parallels to what The Void and The Anomaly mean to the world of Dishonored. Intentionally or just casually done, Arkane seems to imply that world of Deathloop (Blackreef Isle specifically) is the future of the Empire of The Isle. I find interesting that your video on the Void and some of what it implies (that it touches past, present, and future, especially) makes a great sense in light of what we learn of The Anomaly and its characteristics during that game. I'm not sure how interested you are in that game, but just for some of the lore, it adds further to what you have discussed in these videos.
damn I live for analyses like this. Literally answered so many questions about the envisioned and finally laid those "maybe it's a plot hole" doubts to rest lmao
Glad to see this series is still here to stay. I can’t wait for the third game, and hopefully less of a rehash of the first dishonored like the second game did. Maybe more explanation of the void, but with those answers bring up more questions. Let’s also hope they bring the old voice actor back for the Outsider, if he appears.
12:40 am I the only one that thinks that eye looks a lot like a large whale eye? Maybe it was this that bound the whales to the void just like the outsider has bound humanity to the void?
Look at this way, The Outsider will be back eventually within the Dishonored world. Since it's more of a title to whoever the void has claimed as it's representative.
I genuinely hope that there will be a true squeal for dishonored the series simply has to much potential to be squandered becuse of one poor sales chart
Imagine Corvo going to a party and he encounters the outsider dancing in the party. Corvo is like: Outsider wtf are you doing here. Outsider: nothing I was in the void and they were about to kill me but they spared me *wearing a tank top and a cap and shorts getting drunk and freestyle dancing* Emily: This is the outsider? 0_o
I hope once the new God will appear, it will make that anyone who wants to use void’s power, will be able to do it without being marked or something. It’s a new era. When magic will tear apart Abbey of the Everyman. Btw, Delilah almost did it.
Please, put subtitles in all your videos! It would make it easier to translate into my language! I from Brazil and my english is not so good! Thanks and continue with the good work!
I’m having the same problem. Compared to your previous dishonored videos the music here feels a touch too low vs your voice level. I am listening on earbuds via my phone but I had to turn it full volume to hear any music (and that made your voice just a smidge too loud). Whereas I can listen to your other vids at a lower volume and still hear the music.
I thought this was going to be more epic like Billie lurk and Daud being against the outsider and Corvo and Emily being for the outsider and that you get to fight them and then the final boss the outsider with this overpowered abilities and earthquakes and explosions and an ability similar to the dark storm from dark souls 2 and dark lightning!
Ah, i wish i could have Personaly met the Outsider we see in the Dishonored games, sadly these times are long past and have moved to fiction after being supposedly forgotten. Still i know a Handfull of people who where "Alive" during that time and even Before. Well on the other hand the Current Outsider is proberbly a equal oddball.
Bet the human outsider is *hoping humanity will invent t.v. and potatoe chips real soon* so he has some more 'entertainment' to look forward to while living in his humble, small but comfy cheap apartment. *Just picturing the human outsider in his boxers and t-shirt lazing about his cheap apartment only to eventually have to go to some crummy job...and actual be genuily ok about it...truelly it would be a site to see.*
Also i have a way bigger problem with this "Lore" as in: Where do you get the Lore Specific things based on actions from? Dont tell me you just played in a High Chaos way and said "Mmmh yeah seems cannon to me" cuz that would mean the entire games lore would be non-cannon from your point. Dispite what actualy is.
Techy The lore is the lore. How you play doesn’t affect backstory and history. If you’re talking about Billie, I presume she killed the Overseers/Sisters since it was a mission. I’m working off the assumption that side quests are canon. Even if they aren’t, again, the lore remains the lore.
After 4,000 years of cosmic imprisonment, and being set free once again onto the mortal plane, the Outsider finally got to do what he always wanted - gather for whiskey & cigars tonight!
Never doubt it.
If it wasn't because of the disappeared whale oil tank shipment.
Maybe he was interested in a game of cards?
Do you think you will get your own squad after what happened?
@@brandon11392 Never doubt it.
Dishonored: The Veiled Terror novel offers a glimpse into what the world is now like without the Outsider. And I will say only this; it has had consequences.
How I rooted for the outsider.
Norse ko Me too. Love me that black-eyed bastard. It’s why I went non-lethal, lol.
Same
Same! :)
Same! I pitied the poor kid. He deserved his freedom, and I gave him a chance to take back the life he lost to the cultists, and the Void.
Oh boy starting with and HP Lovecraft quote in a Dishonored Lore video...
IM ALL ABOARD
Hugo Blazquez Ceballos Lovecraft and Dishonored go together like mac n cheese
Gameological Dig i couldn't agree more pal! Happy New Year and awesome video as always!!
"All things end. All things burn to ash. But you, my friend, burn bright."
"The song's almost over. And when the music stops, we all fall down."

I've never clicked on a video so fast in my life.
Cerulean Rages Just don’t click too hard! A broken finger is a shitty way to bring in the new year.
Gameological Dig But wholesome lore videos cure all ailments. Thank you for your hard work!

I'm deaf. Can you please upload your script to the caption tool so UA-cam can atuomatically pair it with its speech recognition engine?
Consider it done :-)
Gameological Dig Perfect! Thank you
I would love to see you take on Dishonored 2. This is by far my favorite lore series on Dishonored.
I know Im a little late to the party but been behind on my gaming as of late. Just wanna say thank you for your insight and theories towards this masterpiece of a story. You remind me of vatividia on darksouls lore. Fantastic content! Liked and subed after ine vid man!
You sir are a great content creator
Finally, I have been waiting for this video for what seems to be eternity, it's so good to have you back mate.

Yeah probably. Hopefully he can stay low for like a year, grow out his hair, change his clothes, and age and life will do the rest.
I've been waiting for so long for this, I'm jump in my seat as I watch XD
Syren Serpe A lot of people were, lol. D2 didn’t do much to expand the lore, but DOTO was a bounty. Glad to finally play it. Was dope af.
Gameological Dig Haha it was a such miss opportunity since DH2 had so much content like the what came before the outsider
Tyvm for this. I really don't like to read lore in the middle of the playthrough, I'd read it after the missions, but I always forget.
You are great and so is this video
Liam Niemann I’m only as good as my support system. Thank you, Liam.
Best Dishonored lore videos on the internet.
Yet another great video :) May you have a happy (and the channel a prosperous) New Year!
Espen Steinsnes Thanks Espen. Happy New Years to you too!

Been waiting for this and it doesn't disappoint.
Sam Nelson Thanks, Sam. DOTO was dope and while I didn’t play it right away, it was def worth the wait. So I know the feeling ;-)
I don't understand how your sub count is so low for a channel with content this good.
That is one of my favorite lines from lovecraft there maty! Great vid. keep it on!
my boi delivered yes!!
this video needs more views. I loved it
This is a great channel that deserves a lot more views. Keep up the great work, I cant wait for your new videos.
Ah, I want to see this but I haven't played the game yet. God damn
Ovidiu Butnariu Well get to it, man!!!
Glad to see this series is still here to stay. I can’t wait for the third game, and hopefully less of a rehash of the first dishonored like the second game did. Maybe more explanation of the void, but with those answers bring up more questions.

I wish u did lore breakdowns of areas etc in dishonored 1
Fantastic video. Love Dishonored's lore & this video only heightens that!
Channeling Rod Serling a bit there near the end.
Thank you for this, the content and mood are immersive
you don't see videos as good as these anymore
Outsider joined the Abbey to purge all the Cultist =D
12:40 am I the only one that thinks that eye looks a lot like a large whale eye? Maybe it was this that bound the whales to the void just like the outsider has bound humanity to the void?
Love your videos they're very insightful
Hey man, great video.
Could you please tell me the name of the soundtrack you used in the beginning and very end of your Void video on Dishonored?
Hammad Yusuf Yeah, they’re from the Silent Hill 2 soundtrack. The tracks are “the day of night” and “psionic fairytale.”
Gameological Dig thank you very much
Dishonored 3: Revenge of the Outsider.
Or are they? lol
Lloyd Zed It could be a prequel.
Dishonored 3: The Outsider Reloaded
DIshonored 3: The Children of the Corn
damn man wish you made a full lore series on DH2. I think the capacity of lore is stronger in 1 but 2 still has some good stuff, no?
thank you ! simply just thank you !
Nice look into your creativity and you ability.
what's that animation at 2:13?
I didnt like both endings - wished the outsider become even more supreme... somehow

Corvo is like: Outsider wtf are you doing here.
Outsider: nothing I was in the void and they were about to kill me but they spared me *wearing a tank top and a cap and shorts getting drunk and freestyle dancing*
Emily: This is the outsider? 0_o
Imagine continiuation where you meet a child of former Outsider and the succesor Void emissary
I hope once the new God will appear, it will make that anyone who wants to use void’s power, will be able to do it without being marked or something. It’s a new era. When magic will tear apart Abbey of the Everyman. Btw, Delilah almost did it.
I like this you've got yourself a subscriber!
Ngl, I had a crush on the outsider when I was little 🙂↕️
Okay I love Dishonored ... Is death of the outsider the end??
Could you make Planescape: Torment lore video?
Sojourn Id love too but I haven’t played it yet. I’m waiting for a price drop. I hear good things about it, so I’ll likely cover it eventually.
It's worth however much it costs, trust me. I bought it for £30 on release, never regretted it.
Is there any interest in trying Final Station?
Holy fuck amazing video
I am pretty sure Outsider's name is Dave.
I wonder what future holds for Dishonored universe.
I still hope to hear news about Dishonored 3.
Please, put subtitles in all your videos! It would make it easier to translate into my language! I from Brazil and my english is not so good! Thanks and continue with the good work!
Volume is low :o and... No music this time :o ????
Euline Federchen Are you listening to it on your phone speaker? There’s def music.
I’m having the same problem. Compared to your previous dishonored videos the music here feels a touch too low vs your voice level. I am listening on earbuds via my phone but I had to turn it full volume to hear any music (and that made your voice just a smidge too loud). Still great content to the vid itself.
Why does your voice remind me of DjVlad lol
Love this game

You're like vaatividya if he were good.
Tinfoilpain how dare you insult the lord vattividya? ALL HAIL VATTI!
