In fact, when people criticize very long hair, they are secretly envious of that beautiful long hair🤣

Drinking lots of water, minimal to no heat (styling or drying), biotin and/or prenatal vitamins, and coconut oil treatments every time before I wash my hair has helped my hair so much! I'm about an inch away from right at my back hip bones! :)

How did you do those coconut oil treatments? (like, did you do it on your scalp, or only in your hair lengths?) - Ps, I'm not sure if you will react, 'cause this comment is already 3 years old, .... but I just wanted to ask it anyways.

    • @Ashketchup33

@@lauravanderwal4019 I would use it on the scalp and also on the length of your hair, because I heard it’s also good for hair growth and your hair grows from the scalp so yeah, but be careful coconut oil is not for everyone, because it has lots of protein

I don't recommend cocount oil for oily hair, it leads my hair to fall! U Can try jojoba oil or lavender oil if u have oily skin

That is the best feeling to be able to put it all up, fantastic!!!!!!!!!, I am at 2 years from total regrowth from bleach and damage, its a long time but its really worth it and I know my hair is going to be just getting better and better, you too!!!!!!!!!! so exciting isn't it!

That is the best feeling to be able to put it all up, fantastic!!!!!!!!!, I am at 2 years from total regrowth from the root from bleach and damage, its a long time but its really worth it and I know my hair is going to be just getting better and better, you too!!!!!!!!!! so exciting isn't it! I am now at just past shoulders in the back and still growing out awkward layers on the sides but its getting better all the time, the first 2 years is the hardest I feel, I feel like things are getting into a better place, takes so long but its such a good worthy investment in the long run isn't it,!

I recently decided to grow out my hair. I'm about 2 inches past collar bone right now and my first goal is about nipple length. I must say, your channel has been super inspiring to me because it shows that you don't have to have 5 inch thick hair to have absolutely gorgeous locks. Anyways, here's to hair growth journeys!❤️❤️

I chopped off a majority of my layers early this past August. So about 4 inches. I’m sad about losing so much length, but I’m happy about the fullness of my hair! I hope to go another 6 months before trims so I can see that difference. Happy hair-growing! :)

Your buns are not frumpy! They are gorgeous! I’ve been growing mine for two years. It’s gone from chin length to mid-boob length with two trims so far :)
    - I wash it once a week
    - use coconut oil in for a night which I sleep in the day before washing it
    - use no heat hairstyles or minimal heat
    - taking hair supplements & cod liver oil
    - using hair growth shampoos and serums

  • @alcorson
    @alcorson 4 роки тому

I was at mid back abyss for about 2 years I kid you not... started doing oil treatments on the length once a week and saw a big improvement on the quality and after 10 months I’m past waist length now, nearly to hip!
Brit your hair is beautiful, ends are never perfect but yours are so healthy considering their age! It’s hard to get them to look consistent with the rest of your hair type which is what you’ve done :) Buns aren’t frumpy but elegant. You do you sis x

I have to admit, it gets pretty addicting once you hit the first goal! I also grew out from a pretty short cut once (not sure if you'd call it a pixie - I cut it myself and it was sort of like a mullet 😆). Anyway, I remember really being happy when I could swish my hair around my shoulders again!

  • @misstammygamble
    @misstammygamble 7 років тому

Totally feeling you on the mid back length abyss thing! My hair is currently around that/ kind of hip length and this is about as long as I've ever grown it, several times I've gotten to the same length and impulsively decided to chop it all off (big mistake x 10 haha)... My goal is bum length, but because I've never waited to grow it beyond where it is now, I'm scared that it won't grow any further.
Also, thank you so much for being honest and accepting of the so called "imperfect hair"... I often see the long haired Goddesses on instagram who seem to have the most incredible hair, so it's refreshing to know that there are people like me out there in the long hair community.

Brit you are beautiful as always, but this makeup is just STUNNING girl! Congrats on six years!!!
I know how you feel about the frumpy hairstyles. I got to tailbone and chopped to chin because I got so tired of my hair. Looking back, I would have only chopped up to BSL, or cut bangs, or layers.
As for thickness, my hair has gotten so thick from regular ACV rinses. HOLY CRAP it made my hair so thick!

I think your hair is so pretty! Thank you for talking about the shedding topic :) honestly it helped so much. Usually after I wash my hair and it dries it ends up being huge, frizzy and dry as heck. I really wish I could make my hair look less frizzy and more sleek like yours, now that I’m in the “mid back abyss”. Don’t listen to the haters though, long hair is hard to keep up with and you’re doing such a good job with it, you’re so dedicated.

About shedding- The longer your hair gets, you will feel that it is shedding more. But it is actually the same amount of hair, only longer. Hence it gets a lot of volume and we freak out. Eat healthy and dont stress!

  • @elenabaskette7363
    @elenabaskette7363 7 років тому +1

I just think you are adorable. It boggles my mind that some people think long hair is gross. I'm on year 4 of growing mine out ( tail bone length).
I've tried to not use silicones but found my hair was unruly and hideous looking. So I'm a silicone fan!
I never use conditioner, instead I use a hair mask as I only wash my hair twice a week. It's A Ten hair mask is amazing!
And I understand your boredom of buns. I'm a nurse and have my hair in a bun everyday ...all day.., ugh.
Your hair is beautiful! Stay with us longhairs 🙌🏼😁

Always keep this in mind. That when people are mean to you or commenting negative things about you for no reason it’s always because they are jealous. I know what ugly ends are because I had extreme hair loss for many years and am just now getting better. I had ugly stringy ends and always keep my hair short. Your ends are not bad at all. If you want to trim because you want it to look thicker or whatever then fine. But they are not ugly

Hooray for an update! Congrats on 6 years! :)
My own journey has hit a snag. I think I'm closing in on Terminal, or at least a medically-induced terminal if not my genetic one. One inch past Classic, lots of taper, net zero growth since January ... and it's thinning. I've gone from a 4" circumference 6 years ago down to a 2" circumference as of this month.
    Yours is looking fabulous though!

I am currently growing out a really short, cropped pixie cut after 4 years and it's the biggest pain 😂😂 I have to get it trimmed and shaped up about every 2 months because not everything has evened out yet and sometimes it's so tempting to chop it all off and give up. It's been 6 months since my last big cut and I have a long way to go until I'm out of these awkward stages! Your hair videos inspire me to wait it out and deal with it. 💙

Hi Britt! Your hair looks great! It just keeps getting more awesome the longer it gets! Keep growing it! My hair is getting long enough where people are noticing how "long" it is....and I think I win the contest for the "shiniest" hair thanks to your hair health tips! I finally found the "Argon" oil at my supermarket and LOVE it! As for the fact that you are tired of the "Bun" scene at work, I can totally understand, but you have to remember that with beautiful hair like yours, some people at work could get jealous of you if you wear your hair in a fancy style. Not exactly the place where you want people jealous of you. I actually really admire your ability to wear such a professional style at work when you really have such gorgeous hair when it is "down". Also, I am glad you showed your shed "ball"....I was actually going to ask you about that and if you would "show" the amount of "shed" that you have. ONE question I have is "how long do you think 'your' hair grows per year?" In the pictures you took of your hair, it looks like it grew longer for some reason between years 3 and 4???

I am, for sure, stuck at mid-back length. I have been growing my hair for a year and a half, it's not a very long time, but my hair was already a little bit below my shoulders when I started let it grow, so it didn't took that long to achieve mid-back length. But I know that will take a while for me to get past that phase. Anyway, congratulations for being that far into your long hair journey!

Yeah, girl, keep it going! Actually, do what YOU want! I'm sure I've said this before, but thanks again for being a youtuber who does what SHE wants rather than what's on trend.
My hair is now solidly BCL in the back when stretched. Well, the longest layers...my front layers are a bit past WL at this point and drive me NUTS with their dryness, but I'm trying not to think about it too much. I need to make some more flaxseed gel since that is my hair miracle product. I'm excited about where my hair will be in a year. I'm not THAT far from your length but your hair is so lovely and I can't wait for it to be that long!

I cut my hair last December (2017). It was down to my belly button and I cut it so short it wasn't even past my chin! It was an impulse cut lol. But I'm 3 months away from it being my first year of growing it out again and now it's passing my collar bones! I know that's still fairly short but that is a lot of growth to me for less then a year! I oil it occasionally and I rarely use heat on it, so I feel that I'm doing pretty well and I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for me!

I have a pixie cut.. I chopped it off right after my grandfather passed away from cancer. I've been keeping up with the pixie for almost three years now, but now I've decided to just let it grow. It's going to be hard, and it will look like a mullet, but I want to try. You're very inspiring

Me and my mom are on our hair growth journey together since two years. We apply hair mask and oil together and this has certainly leaded to our bonding time and this bond has turned into best friends bond. And i love my hair. Sometimes it gives headaches and those dry ends of mine and tangles makes me think to cut my hair. But after sometime, I look at inspiration like you and stable my mind that I want long hair. I believe this long hair care leads to development of me as a human being too.

"tell me I cant and thats exactly why I will"
Bravo girl. Keep it up. Makes me hopeful about my journey too.
I had straightened my naturally thick long hair thrice and lost them to 1/8th. I think its due to hormonal imbalances and nutritional deficiencies. Recently i started taking proper care and noticed castor +coconut oil helped alot. And mayonnaise+egg (yolk for dry) + henna+ green olive oil. Black seed oil. Amla oil. Aloe vera gel. Onion juice + garlic+ honey overnight. Fenugreek paste. All these have helped with the shedding. All natural ingredients, no side effects. I hope you try them and reach your goals too.
I understand the deal about the ends. My straight ends look scraggly and I am considering to cut them then start afresh. Luckily I have good genes so they grow out soon but the problem is the hormonal imbalance is untreated. I am trying iron and royal honey supplements. I also take almonds and dates. I hope these help! Looking forward to your 7year journey vid!

Some people, like you, need silicones and sulfates for your hair. Some people, like me, don't. Our hair is COMPLETELY opposite. So I say don't listen to the opinions of others on what is best for YOUR hair. By the way, Congrats!!!

Aaliyah Dailey probably works for a lot of people but we all have unique hair and scalp so dryer, curlier or courser hair this may not work for but thick, straight to wavy hair this will probably work. I bet your hair is very beautiful, have a really nice day

Love your hair Brit !! I keep mine right above my bum so I don't sit on it anymore. Sharing my TANGLE TRICK - I get tangles often having wavy/curly hair. Next time, instead of working it from the bottom up...gently pull individual strands up and out FROM ABOVE the snarl with your fingers. I know above the snarl sounds crazy but it works great for me! Be gentle and I hope it works for you too.

You just get prettier and prettier! Do you ever create a double twist braid, (with just 2 strands twisted then oppositely twisted together?) Don't know what it's really called but it works like a ponytail but isn't. If done on the opposite side from seat belts or purse straps it's a big help my wife says. Pretty too.

I just bought Renpure shampoo, from the grocery store. It is cruelty and sulfate free. Has biotin and collagen and great ingredients. Really love how it works!!! My tip. Also, drink one ensure, before bed. It also has biotin and lots on nutritious vitamins and taste great. 2 nd tip. Growing for the next year, from about one inch below shoulder. Would like waistline hair. I will re evaluate, next spring. Stay healthy!! Enjoy your hair and the accounting business.

Ik it can be hard having very long hair. And you can get stuck with frumpy hairstyles. But I really great way to make it a little less frumpy is just a regular braid, or even learning how to do french/dutch braids on yourself can make it even more fun! Because there are several different types of braids that you could do. I promise you, I don’t have long hair quite yet, it’s only just below my collarbone length. But even I wear dutch braids almost every day, and it’s great. I do have to pull it up a lot in frumpy ponytails and buns because of softball, but I always find a way to keep it fun. So don’t worry about being stuck on frumpy hairstyles, because you’re not entirely stuck!

Congrats! Your hair looks so beautiful. I was maybe an inch or two away from waist length when a little over two weeks ago (and two weeks before my wedding) I went in for a trim with a hairstylist who had previously done really well with my hair and she went on about how oils (specifically mentioning argan oil even though I hadn't mentioned it) "ruin" your hair because "you can fry stuff in them" (never mind that I never heat style my hair) and cut off about four-five inches -_- So now I have to double down on taking care of my hair and grow it as fast as I can, and you're really motivating me to do so! At least I got the last of the hair off that was damaged from when I used to dye and heat style it about four years ago though.

I have always had Medium length hair (a little below the shoulder) and have been trying to grow them out since years but just unable to achieve hair length anywhere below the strap (the bra strap). I saw your 5 year hair update video and that really inspired me to not go for a full haircut and so this December it will be 1 full year without a proper haircut (Split ends trim twice in between) and they're growing pretty slowly but yeah there is improvement. Thanks a lot.

I just cut my hair 7 inches from your length! Although my ends didn't look particularly damaged, my hair feels so much healthier and bouncier. I grew my hair out from shoulder length (and tailbone length before that) so doing another big chop was kind of scary but I am so glad I did! It'll grow back after all.
