      Then I would love going to boxing training again. In Germany the training is often rather dull and hard. I much more prefer using my wits and intelligent body mechanics

    He is the true meaning of a fundamentally sound coach. His moves are flawless, which only means that he not only talked the talk but walked it as well.

    Floyd Patterson had the best leaping left hook of all time. He usually threw it out of a crouch. Watch videos of him. He won an Olympic gold medal and was two times heavyweight champion.

    ....Lots of technique in these lessons to get efficient power and protection...

    The tucking of arms prior to launching is the same principle that gives speed to a spinning hook kick: at first, you're a large target in your fight stance & then, as you turn your body you tuck arms in which is what generates speed very quickly. Thus allowing you to whip out the kick.
    Same thing here. From standing tall, you tuck your arms as you drop low & your entire bodyweight shifts downwards *quickly* - allowing to spring up & burst forward on your toes since it is the upper body inertia that propels you forward, not really the legs. Here, the legs merely act as an extension to create your reach.
    In both the flying hook punch & spinning hook kick, much of the explosive power is generated by the *upper body* so, the more relaxed your legs are? The faster your execution of either technique will be.

  • @joeconti3599
    @joeconti3599 Рік тому

    The way you teach this is almost similar to a "thai hop" in muay thai. The slight hop forward is always first and a strike of your choice comes later. The goal is to startle and blitz your opponent with the hop and follow up with something sneaky after they move back or react.

    This is explained so well thank you, this looks like leaping left hook Wladimir Klitschko often used.

    • @frankjaeger393
      @frankjaeger393 7 місяців тому

      @usernamezkr No it's right it is shoulder first to get in position on front foot then when you start to throw it's from legs first and follow through with shoulder pulling right shoulder back using mainly your obliques to do this. You most likely hurt your shoulder hooking to deep into the bag when hook it's always close to front of the bag.

    • @frankjaeger393
      @frankjaeger393 7 місяців тому

      @usernamezkr You live in UK?

    • @frankjaeger393
      @frankjaeger393 7 місяців тому

      @usernamezkr No you don't swing glove wide and past shoulder, glove stays tight to head and when you throw it's from legs, obliques and shoulders keeping the hook short and tight not much space between the punch.
      When you swing a hook so arm comes out and glove past shoulder behind you, it does damage shoulder when you swing and hit bag because shoulder is open when you hit bag, it's a ball and socket joint which is weaker than other joints in body so you want the ball right in the socket using the shoulder and muscles around it which is what supports that joint.
      Also arm swinging a hook you won't land knuckles on bag will be a slap.

    • @frankjaeger393
      @frankjaeger393 7 місяців тому

      @usernamezkr Practise just hooking forget the leaping hook for now. If you are orthodox and it is a left hook you need to get weight on front foot first. To do this start with your right shoulder first bring that forward and across with guard up and left shoulder comes back then just after you start this movement with shoulder rotate your hips using obliques keep obliques and core tight transferring so you feel weight more on front foot and head in line with left leg but not past the knee.
      Now you are in position to throw the left hook.
      Start throwing the left hook from legs both legs pushing off floor and use you obliques and core to rotate and then you bring your shoulder into the punch while keeping right glove tight to head and pull that right shoulder and arm tight into your body to help rotate into punch, you are pulling from the opposite side.
      Just do slow and light, I often practise movements like this in swimming pool about bottom of chest deep, less likely to go too fast and hurt self in water and you get a feel for the movement in water you will feel the water as get more torque in movement.
      Another good one in pool, get a kick board and stand back and hips square against wall in pool, hold the kick board out in front of you under water, will need to squat a bit for this as will punching in pool, now swing that paddle board side to side like cutting down a tree but keep hips square against wall, you are only using obliques for this movement only top half of body rotates and don't use arms at all, should feel obliques working once got movement right which may take few attempts do this explosively, this works obliques to be explosive and this is there role in punching all punching not just left hook.

    • @frankjaeger393
      @frankjaeger393 7 місяців тому

      @usernamezkr Good one for driven shoulders into punch is stand square to bag no rotation or weight transfer for this drill you are doing straight arm punches into bag driven shoulder forward with arm you punch with as you drive the shoulder on the non punching arm back and his verse, you are driven shoulders in to bag but to add a twist and make drill more interesting you have to keep the bag up right when punching through out the drill, in other words bag must be constantly leaning away from you, you will have to drive those shoulders and punch fast to keep it there. Make sure don't lean into bag that's cheating stay balanced and over your legs core tight to keep balance, try this for 60 seconds on light bag to begin, don't push bag punch hard.

      @locofrint878 7 місяців тому

      @usernamezkr no, his explanation is good. Maybe you are taking it too literally, of course your fist is going to move when you move your shoulder, but what he means is to do t voluntarily move your hand with your elbow. Instead, move shoulder first, then elbow, which will move your hand. Of it hurts, then you are doing ot wrong, maybe exaggerating the movement, remember, boxing is a sport of inches, no need to move your shoulder so radically fast

    • @locofrint878
      @locofrint878 7 місяців тому

      @usernamezkr well that's because it's a different style, this is soviet style, not American, again, if you do it wrong it can hurt I guess, I do it, doesn't hurt in my case.
      But if it hurts you maybe just don't do it, do what is comfortable with you.

    Freak, just like their special military operation this technique is too convoluted and impractical. This must have been thought in the USSR. This must be thought to homeless orphans.
