I farmed swamp jaguars for 30 minutes on my 38 shadow priest, Zandalar Tribe EU RP/PVP. My farm took place on a thursday between 15:30-16:00, ie. not in prime time. In these 30 minutes I managed to kill and skin 40 jaguars. My kill speed might not have been very high - but I found that irrelevant as spawn times were nowhere near as abundant as in the video. If you're gonna be farming beasts for vendor trash, you might as well grab skinning when you make your character, it will add another 1-2g from all the skins you will vendor, yes, vendor, don't bother selling them on the AH, it takes far too long and it's not worth the listing fees.
you get the listing fee back when you sell them, just put the buyout price at like 2 silver over their vendor per unit price and you'll make much much more in the long run
Breaking News: SWAMP JAGUARS are straight GARBAGE in Classic. The grey items drop rates are abysmal and most of the time they don't drop anything. They're only good for farming on private servers where they made up the drop rates on grays.

just a lil add to the ridge huntress: they drop tiger meat which can be used in a recipe for a soup, combining it with 2 apples and 1 fresh water. the soup sells for 3s on vendors and you get 2 soups out of 1 tiger meat + 2 apples +1 fresh water, which combined are worth ~1s. by using cooking, you can easily add 1-2g/hr to the huntress farm spot making it the top spot by far imho.
I have found that killing plains creepers (level 32-34) in Arathi Highlands is highly profitable. They drop several vendor trash items but they also drop copious amounts of spider's silk and thick spider's silk (used by tailors). In 2 hours farming these spiders (at level 34) I was able to make 7 raw gold from vendor garbage and collected 13 thick spider's silk and 28 spider's silk. The auction value of the silks was around 8g. That means that, without skinning, this was roughly a 7-8g/h farming spot accessible in the low 30's. Very handy for Alliance players who are going to have some trouble grinding in swamp of sorrows (or anybody on a pvp realm as grinding in STV is always a crap shoot). BTW - Grinding this much spider's silk might flood the market a bit so it is probably worth noting that the silks vendor for quite a bit as well. I would still say it's easily a 5g/h spot even if you just vendor the silks.
#1 Ridge Huntress, great tip, underrated drop table, much better then the swamp jaguars everyone suggests, excellent tip. #2 Jungle Stalkers, absolutely not, they are a quest mob in a contested area, with a 40-43 lvl, so they will resist/dodge/parry most of your abilities/spells, and they in general just hit hard (Raptors get 7% more dmg compared to normal beasts their lvl) #3 Cold Eye Basilisk, again great suggestion, but let me give you a tip, the sleep that 70% of basilisks in vanilla do, only has a 5-8 yard range, so the second you see his hands glowing, just strafe in either direction until the basilisk finishes casting, (If you're a rogue this gives you an energy tick or 2 and saves you energy from kicking) so no need for any interupts =)

Just wanna update this a bit. The swamp jags have horrible loot table on beta it seems. After testing them they are definitely not a good way to grind gold. The ridge huntress in badlands however seem comparable and decent gold per hour for the level.
Wait, the slumber the crocs use is 15 seconds yes, but as soon as they hit you again its taken off. Its not a stun, its a sleep. Damage removes it. You be asleep maybe 1 second.
Grinding those raptors from 39 to 40. Started at 5 bars in with 30 mins played this level and 14g. Will update when I hit 40 with time and money earned.
As others have mentioned skinning is a great thing to have to boost the numbers here. Also I've personally done making a bunch of gold for my mount with the Hyena packs that spawn in Desolace. 4-5 per pack typically and each individual Hyena has a smaller health pool than usual mobs their level. All can be skinned for a bunch of leather as well as regular trash items.
I did the raptors in STV low pop server, killed 73 raptors in 45 min, made 2.5 gold selling trash. I kept 4 large fangs to sell in AH 54 Heavy leather and 19 thick leather. 1 green item not part of the 2.5g sells vendor for 50s. I disenchant it. So maybe I can make 7 gold from selling fangs and the skins. I only did it to gain xp. I was a level 41 Druid.
I farmed Ogres 30 to 35 at Duskwood and i was getting around 3 ~ 4 gold per hour. including lots of silk. You could switch it up and do the warewolfs if you have high skinning but they have a high aggro radius so you will be pulling additional mobs.
Some of my favorite farming spots where in thousand needles in the salt flats around that small pond near the path to Tanaris, all the basilisks there plus skins got me some decent gold. Beyond level 40 my favorite spots where in hinterlands along the shore a bit away from the horde flight path that is at the end of a dock, Turtle scales and leather long with drops and not to mention the rare that would spawn as well. The turtles in Tanaris along with the heyena's you could also camp that goblin hut where there is a fishing recipe that spawned every so often. Also the scorpions in silithus, where you can get scales along with the worms that dropped the worm meat that sold good. All these places had vendors nearby that you could sell your junk to which is the real value imo because the quicker you cleared the bags the quicker you could farm again. That's about all I can think of for fifteen years ago. I don't know for sure if they are real hot spots or not for making really good gold, but that is areas where not too many people farmed and you had all the mobs you could eat and I ate a lot of them.
eye of killrog is amazing for spellcleave groups they just sit at the begin of the dungeon 1 warlock, 1 priest , 3mages the eye lures mobs and the mages frost nova/blizzard them down..the priest puts a shield on the eye so it doesnt get killed as fast
Wish i would've read the comments before doing this. Farmed the raptors behind the arena in STV as a lvl 40 hunter. After an hour and 2 minutes i walked away with 4g and 35s and that's including the 3 green drops i got and all the greens crafted with all the leather i collected from the raptors.
I would suggest going to Stranglethorn Vale and kill the tigers that are in the North area, next to the Nesingwary Camp, their whiskers vendor for 7 silver each. Get 10 and you got 70 silver :) not a 100% drop but quite common, had a bunch whilst questing there. The Gorillas and Panthers drop similar stuff for like 5-6 silver. 10000% pick up Skinning for the extra gold
1:58 This needs to be updated because this is no longer true. I leveled from 38 to 39 entirely on swamp jaguars on my rogue. It took about 3.5 hours and 400 jaguars. I might have made 9 gold in that time.
So... I have skinning. Went to badlands and farmed the stalkers on my mage until my 14 slot bags were full (barely over 1 1/2 hrs) Got 7 greens, a couple being a nice 80s vendor price. Made about 4g and some change in the skinning... Totaled at 16g 28s. WITH SKINS. Which averaged to 6.512 g per hour. Which isn’t bad, but absolutely exaggerated in this video. On top of that, without skinning, you earn a meager 10ish gold.. which is roughly 4g an hour. Summary.. ONLY do the beast farming, and ONLY do it if you’re a skinner. Oh and PS I’m also a cook and made jungle stew out of all of the tiger meat, changing them from a 8s 10 stack to a 60s 20 stack. So this guys numbers are garbage. Good Luck, Bigglesworth says hello
Well for some reason I tried to farm the Swamp Jaguars and either the drop rate was lowered to almost nothing or there is some kind of bug going on .... they weren't dropping anything for me after 2 hours of farming i may have gotten 3-4 long soft tails and 1 claw and that's it....
I grinded bristly whiskers from pretty much every mob that drops them throughout my lvl 30's, and by 33 I was already at 100 gold, and im at 37 now with 140 gold. But damn it took a long ass time so prob not recommended, just quest too
So from my own experience, i made it to lvl 40 with 98g on my char after spending about 30 on leatherworking / skinning / first aid / cooking and / fishing professions and another 15g on item upgrades like bags, bank slots, pet slots and bank-bags. I never spend 1 min grinding mobs, all done through selling green items for 20-50s on AH or vendor the item if it was worth 50s+ After i got my mount at lvl 40. i went to stv. and grinded for one full lvl, killing nothing but basilisks, and walked away with 37g. no joke, just grind for ONE! lvl and you can afford your mount no problem, it's not hard to make gold on gray vendor dops, it's super easy.
For warriors : take the gold per hour divide it through 4 and minus 4 and you got gold per hour for a best geared warrior for that level (with epic 2h weapon ofc)(and all buff potions + rage potions+ personal healers)
What nobody tells you in these videos that, if you have skinning, you can farm YETI type enemies. They drop money AND are skinnable. On top of that, skinning makes the corpse dissapear, speeding up the respawn process since it requires the corpse to dissapear before respawn timer starts.
Thanks for the video! Just one note however: If you're a warrior or druid and blacksmith or leather worker- do NOT vendor wicked claws. They are used for the BiS head piece.
the huntress farm in badlands is alright but the rock golem farm is better. If theres a lot of people farming the rock golems you can farm huntresses on the side and it works out well :)
I'll be honest once I was able to run sm I just spammed it from like level 32 to 40. I practically had enough for a mount on vendor items alone and that doesn't include all the gold I got off the ah selling gear from sm. I was sitting at about 200g by 40 just from that.
Great video. another interesting idea is how worth while two extra bag slots are for average trash to vendor. Would be fun to see the tipping point. gold spent on bags vs extra gold towards mount.
If you know how fast a bag will fill up with stacks of grays (depends on drop percent and kill rate), and how long it takes to go to the nearest vendor to clear bagspace, then you would have the time variable sorted for the calculation. The only other thing you would need is to know how much the bags cost and how much the average stack you're selling to the vendor costs. You're always going to want more bag space, just like you're always wanting to go as fast as possible, so it is safe to say you wouldn't need to do the math to know it is always worth investing in bags.
There is a massive problem with these tips, pretty much all of these mobs are questing areas and some are very high traffic areas like the raptors and basilisks. You need to find a spot that isnt associated with quests. As a hunter i farmed jungle thunderers in stv. took about 4-5 hours total of farming, with skinning (not even counting the greens/blues/thick leather i sold on ah), to make the 60g i needed to have enough for my mount. This is only because no one needs these mobs so my farming route was uninterrupted. ---Edit: Realized this video was made a year ago so its all private server knowledge... its honestly terrible advice for classic wow. hope he made a new one.
the basilisk sleep is melee range so you can outrange it realy easy when they cast it. also its a sleep so when the mob hits you again after he casted it, it breaks
No clue if someone have commented it or if you said it in the video. But I would sell the wicked claw on AH. It is needed for crafting Lionheart Helm. Im on a classic rant, so just looked at another video that mentioned it.
@@dariollanos I vendor everything except elemental earth. Becuse its early and the AH prices is not high enough. elemental earth varied between 8s-40s. When I was 40 pretty fast I sold them for 30-50s. Still I got the most G from the rocks at vendor.
well if you just grind those mobs to lvl 40 you might very well have 100g. i think you just have to grind to afford your mount at 40. i personally farmed trolls in the hinterlands plus some mining from 40 on and had the mount at 43
Make friends with a mage, you can save countless gold just by getting a mage to make you some food and water rather than spend it on expensive vendor food, just have like one stack of the vendor stuff in your bags for backup. Stay the hell away from the AH, don't buy useless things you don't need(like low level blues) Great video dude!
I don't think getting the mount at level 40 is such a big deal, whether you grind at level 36-38 or 41-43...you are still going to grind for about 8-10 hours if that's your plan. I would think your time would be better spent trying to get level 39 twink drops. I also think that you should include professions in your thought process. if you are a tailor grind humanoids, badlands is great for mining...just keep it in mind when picking your grinding spot. Also think of where the vendor is because of your limited bag space...great information about the stacking BTW but remember it doesn't help your grind time if you have to run 15 minutes each way to clear out your bags. Great video and see you guys in classic!!
This is sort of my thought process; getting a mount exactly at 40 isn't a big deal if you plan to primarily grind for your exp instead of following a highly congested guide like Joana's. Everyone is going to be using the same few vanilla level guides which will make kill and loot quests very hard to compete for during classic which will make grinding and dungeoning (with a static group only) better imo. If my plan is to hit level 40 asap and then stay in Tanaris or badlands grinding for example, a mount at 40 isn't really gonna save me a ton of time because I'll be sticking to one area instead of spreading out and traveling to turn in quests.
I start grinding the panthers at Stv from lvl 33+ . Bristly Whiskers sell like 75s for a stack and there is a very high drop change on those. I always grind like atleast 200-300 of them panthers and plenty around.
It's only high drop chance on private servers (68%), don't expect the same on retail. But there's no doubt grinding beasts will absolutely be the best way to inject gold on fresh retail.
i love this farm and always do it, except i cant now on turtle wow bc its got 7.5k players and only one layer, scrambling to make money in my early 30s
Things u need to avoid to have 100g at lvl 40 (nearly 100%). - Don't buy items on the AH it isn't worth at all, get quest or dng gear. - Try to sell *everything* on the AH if it isn't grey. Specially mats are worth a lot because u need nearly everything to level up professions. (If u AoE level with an mage, vendoring everything should be enough if u dont like to wait for AH sales.) - Learn about ur class before u skill ur talents. Unlearning the talents costs alot specially if u do it more then one time. For example I nearly ~100g before I was lvl 40 to unlearn my talents because i switched my talents on my mage to AoE grinding and Solo dps builds all the time. Choose one and stick to it. - Kill every mob on the way to ur next quest. This also speed up the leveling progress.
Fairbanks pvp realm horde rogue. I lvl til 33doing mostly quests and a little bit of dungeons. Literally sell everything you aren’t wearing. Get skinning and mining and sell all those nodes til you get enough. When I say sell I mean vendor it all then farm SM til 40. When I hit 40 I had 105g on me and that’s running thru undead starting then thru barrens and thousand needles for a little
To be honest if you dont train any spells from 35 to 40 and only train the essential spells from 1 to 40 in general, don't buy gear from AH, you usually will have around 100g at lvl 40 and dont need to grind
the "10 gold" off the tigers in badlands is super bullcrap. I got 2g 40s of 1 hour non stop griding + like 1g 50s from skins (which im not vendoring since im using them) just so you know and dont waste your time doing that.
More like 4 gold per hour IF you have Skinning, I won't lie though, the xp is good for these levels, but in Swamp of Sorrows yr better of killing everything in sight. The best loot in Swamp is the Crocolisk Teeth and the Spider Silk, ironically NOT the mobs mentioned.
@@idn Grinded 50 gold and got my mount the same day I watched it in one of the spots, granted I took mining breaks and made iron grenades and vendored those as well for 50s per 10 and I sold a lot of those but I think the spot provided decent exp and gold per an hour.

My favorite spot too:)
great guide for the now hardcore challenge, just what I wanted
Tried the first spot on my rogue. I gave up after 15 min. Those Jaguars dropped almost nothing. No way you can make 7g/h
Ur profile picture says it all
eye of killrog is amazing for spellcleave groups they just sit at the begin of the dungeon 1 warlock, 1 priest , 3mages the eye lures mobs and the mages frost nova/blizzard them down..the priest puts a shield on the eye so it doesnt get killed as fast
Jaguars are only 2 gold an hour even with a 39 mage
On vanilla private servers they are like 10 gold an hour easy. The drop rates are so different ive noticed
Farmed the Ridge huntresses for about 2-3 hours, made nowhere near 10g/hour - despite having no competition
I really like how it feels like you are talking to me. I like your style thanks great video
I've always stopped buying spells at level 30 and selling occasional greens on AH and never had a problem with mount at 40-42.
good advice, thanks man
There are also the Pesterhide hyena s in Thousand Needles that that drop fur that sells 1,5g / stack.
Yes, this is yet another video based on private server BS.
So... I have skinning. Went to badlands and farmed the stalkers on my mage until my 14 slot bags were full (barely over 1 1/2 hrs)
Got 7 greens, a couple being a nice 80s vendor price.
Dude i farmed the first spot yesterday 1,5h and i got 4g wtf , 1/5 mops drops items. that sucks
The icon on the bottom left of the video is distracting, can you perhaps make it 50% smaller and about 50% opacity?
perhaps reduce size of icon by 50% and increase bust size 50%
Well for some reason I tried to farm the Swamp Jaguars and either the drop rate was lowered to almost nothing or there is some kind of bug going on .... they weren't dropping anything for me after 2 hours of farming i may have gotten 3-4 long soft tails and 1 claw and that's it....
1. Play Warlock or Paladin
2. ???
3. Enjoy your free mount at Level 40!
Palas and Locks get free horses 🏇 😂
I play mage, I grind easily
Anyone else got their classic 40 mount from grinding basilisks in thousand needles?
It's fine if you are a few levels above 40 without mounts, that's the real vanilla experience.
I grinded bristly whiskers from pretty much every mob that drops them throughout my lvl 30's, and by 33 I was already at 100 gold, and im at 37 now with 140 gold. But damn it took a long ass time so prob not recommended, just quest too
Eye of kilrog a waste of money? How do you plan to get invited to SM farm?
Are these tips still applicable? Seeing comments saying otherwise.
Large fangs are a material for great rage potions, it's better to list them on the AH.
also for other valuable recipes
Wicked claws too for Lionheart Helm
no1 buys em tho, even at 1 silver each
So from my own experience, i made it to lvl 40 with 98g on my char after spending about 30 on leatherworking / skinning / first aid / cooking and / fishing professions and another 15g on item upgrades like bags, bank slots, pet slots and bank-bags. I never spend 1 min grinding mobs, all done through selling green items for 20-50s on AH or vendor the item if it was worth 50s+
After i got my mount at lvl 40. i went to stv. and grinded for one full lvl, killing nothing but basilisks, and walked away with 37g. no joke, just grind for ONE! lvl and you can afford your mount no problem, it's not hard to make gold on gray vendor dops, it's super easy.
Just tried this this morning. Had them to myself and I can see how you could grind out gold fast with them.
Gonna have to try other zones. Swamp of Sorrows has brought me only...well, Sorrow.
The skill advice is the best... so much gold sinks into it :D
6:40 that comment agedlikemilk. For the first few months warlocks were using Eye of Kilrogg to pull packs of mobs for spellcleave
I'll be honest once I was able to run sm I just spammed it from like level 32 to 40. I practically had enough for a mount on vendor items alone and that doesn't include all the gold I got off the ah selling gear from sm. I was sitting at about 200g by 40 just from that.
Why not make a video of what skills most classes usually dont need to level? Just an idea for a video
Gettin so HYPED
There is a massive problem with these tips, pretty much all of these mobs are questing areas and some are very high traffic areas like the raptors and basilisks. You need to find a spot that isnt associated with quests. As a hunter i farmed jungle thunderers in stv. took about 4-5 hours total of farming, with skinning (not even counting the greens/blues/thick leather i sold on ah), to make the 60g i needed to have enough for my mount. This is only because no one needs these mobs so my farming route was uninterrupted. ---Edit: Realized this video was made a year ago so its all private server knowledge... its honestly terrible advice for classic wow. hope he made a new one.
can you reccomend good spots
@@markkidrov5066 i literally did.
the basilisk sleep is melee range so you can outrange it realy easy when they cast it. also its a sleep so when the mob hits you again after he casted it, it breaks
Very practical advice! Very nice.
Great video!
No clue if someone have commented it or if you said it in the video. But I would sell the wicked claw on AH. It is needed for crafting Lionheart Helm. Im on a classic rant, so just looked at another video that mentioned it.
I dont know why no one says farm rock elementals in badlands 38-40, I got 40g in those 2 levels.
do u vendor or ah those? anf id u ah them, do people really buy them at the moment?
@@dariollanos I vendor everything except elemental earth. Becuse its early and the AH prices is not high enough.
elemental earth varied between 8s-40s. When I was 40 pretty fast I sold them for 30-50s. Still I got the most G from the rocks at vendor.
to prevent the crystalline slumber, just walk away from the basilisk. gg.
it's a melee range cast and they can't move while casting.
I farmed like 8 levels in SM with eye of killrog that was power word: shielded
Staysafe one month ago: Guys im so tired of non original content, im gonna shake things up ok?
Staysafe today: How to farm gold in vanilla.
How to get mount at 40, ignore 1-35 and then grind lv 36+ mobs 35-40?
Wowhead has a good guild for lvling your class. Like what is the best spells/things to tain while lvling so you don't waste your money
At 4:19 this video get stuck every time in a spinning graphic on UA-cam for no apparent reason.
How can you get “100 gold by level 40” if all the spots you listed start at lvl 36+??
well if you just grind those mobs to lvl 40 you might very well have 100g. i think you just have to grind to afford your mount at 40. i personally farmed trolls in the hinterlands plus some mining from 40 on and had the mount at 43
Make friends with a mage, you can save countless gold just by getting a mage to make you some food and water rather than spend it on expensive vendor food, just have like one stack of the vendor stuff in your bags for backup. Stay the hell away from the AH, don't buy useless things you don't need(like low level blues)
Great video dude!
I looted 40 Chests @ the Lost Ones and there was never a green or blue item in it .. GG
Did you record this on BFA xD. The first minute and 30seconds ish.
Will you buy a normal mount when leveling warlock because of the five second mana rule?
Things u need to avoid to have 100g at lvl 40 (nearly 100%).
- Don't buy items on the AH it isn't worth at all, get quest or dng gear.
- Try to sell *everything* on the AH if it isn't grey. Specially mats are worth a lot because u need nearly everything to level up professions. (If u AoE level with an mage, vendoring everything should be enough if u dont like to wait for AH sales.)
- Learn about ur class before u skill ur talents.
When I hit 40 I had 105g on me and that’s running thru undead starting then thru barrens and thousand needles for a little
Also don’t buy all your dang abilities
I come here for quality content. I receive quality content.
To be honest if you dont train any spells from 35 to 40 and only train the essential spells from 1 to 40 in general, don't buy gear from AH, you usually will have around 100g at lvl 40 and dont need to grind
Eye of kilrog is great for aoe dungeon leveling so its not actually useless???
'Roll a warlock' - could've cut 8minutes from your video.
Spell cost 😋
or pally
@@melok2 mount is free
or hunter?
@@LetsPlayKenny Hunter doesn't get free mount
the "10 gold" off the tigers in badlands is super bullcrap. I got 2g 40s of 1 hour non stop griding + like 1g 50s from skins (which im not vendoring since im using them) just so you know and dont waste your time doing that.
whats your gear?
No, you should farm green mobs. No downtime and dodge attacks, resists, getting hits etc and still good xp.
You can dodge the basilisk stun by moving out of their range(5-10yards)
I was farming lost ones for an hour and only made 2g. Ive found the best place for raw gold is the rock elementals in badlands...
Yeah that wasn’t my question where do I get them out from
I almost didnt upvote this just to keep it secret.. its so good staysafe! thank you
This video is not accurate at all.
@@idn Grinded 50 gold and got my mount the same day I watched it in one of the spots, granted I took mining breaks and made iron grenades and vendored those as well for 50s per 10 and I sold a lot of those but I think the spot provided decent exp and gold per an hour.
