Small correction, the photo shown is the "5KX" line, which is a dive-style watch with 100m WR based on the SKX diver, and not the actual SKX diver which is discontinued, has an outdated movement, but has ISO-rated diver specs. The point still stands, and I believe that even the newer 5KX dive-style watches would be great for most people.
Yeah, the editor grabbed the wrong stock photo. I was talking the discontinued SKX. But I agree with you, either would fill that spot in one’s collection 😉 - Jason
Ahhh, thanks. Felix is alittle upset because he accidentally uploaded the wrong edit tho. He fixed a few issues on the final, but then grabbed the wrong one on upload 🤫
Very nice video. To keep it high level and make it more general for anyone to add their own individual taste, this could broken down as follows: 1. Daily wearer (beater, diver, gada, etc.) 2. Chronograph 3. Luxury or higher end piece 4. Conversation or personal interest piece 5. Dress or fancy occasion watch *Bonus 6. Digital watch - I would include a digital watch that speaks to your lifestyle.
Food for thought: for me 1. Cartier Tank 2. Omega speedmaster FOIS 3. Audemar Piguet Ellipse 4. Rolex Submariner 5. Vacheron Oversea blue dial. Thanks for all the excellent content.
Ming is a great option now; when they first came out, the releases would sell out in 5 minutes thanks to scalpers and ruin any opportunity for real people to experience them. That drove up unrealistic hype, which nowadays has settled back out. Given the brand just won their second gphg award in like 5 years of existence, they’ve got the official nod by the industry and the small batch concept is pretty cool
Yep, I'm so glad most of the flippers have left the Ming market. They're an exceptional brand for the money. They've done a great job and have positioned themselves as a reasonably priced watch for the offering. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and pick 👊 - Jason
This is a really nice spread. Can't emphasize enough the importance of a manual wound calibre. Its that personal connection to the watch, the waking of a fresh new morning and your bringing to life the watch that will share it right there with you. It's truly the most beautiful thing, especially if the calibre has a sense of tactility its like flicking a zippo lid all day 🏆
You said it perfectly. There's just a special connection with a manual wind, and I encourage every collector to have atleast one in their collection - Jason
The tank XL is in my collection but i only wear it for office or traveling .. the speedy is my almost daily driver :) beside my Zenith chrono sport .. the other three watches are, JLC reverso "rose gold", VC cornes de vache " rose gold" and patek annual calendar moon phase "white gold " the one everyone hate it :) but i dress it up with 4 straps and love the white dial .. the only watch i would like to add to my collection either cartier de santos or Lange.. not sure because i dont like to buy things i dont wear .. but if i will add one watch ...these are my option ,, off cause no a rolex lol
You replied to a different comment, but I knew exactly who it was from when I saw it 😉 We have the same piece! I absolutely love the 5396g-011. It's such a beautiful, elegant, classic design. Understated in white gold but so boss! Thanks for commenting back and sharing that PP with me! - Jason
@ i tried to reply under the same thread but it gets deleted right away !!.. I totally agree with you ,, thanks alot Jason for great contents .. keep it up 👍🏼
Why have two divers in your collection. You could have left out the Seiko and added a pilot watch or a field watch. Replace the Seiko with a Murph and your collection is more well rounded. Also, good luck buying a Ming. Almost impossible. Nice effort though. Thanks.😊
Ming’s are more accessible than they were a couple of years ago. Not the assets to get, but more reasonably priced than some of the other pieces on my list. So it evens out some. Sit down and come up with your 5 watches and you’ll quickly see how hard it is. i.e. They’re all too expensive, there’s not enough variety, that dress watch sucks, why no Rolex, Rolex sucks it should be xyz, etc, etc. It’s almost a no win if you think about it. So I just made the list that I think is good for 80% of collectors. Watches that would make a well rounded collection. Thanks for watching and supporting. I plan on making some more list, so stay tuned. I’m bound to get one of them right 😝 - Jason
Rolex OP with silver, black, or bright blue dial. JLC Master Ultra Thin Moon Phase. Tag Heuer Carrera Glass box. Marathon GSAR. Casio G-Shock DW5600BB-1.
Couldn’t help but notice that the first 3 watches were black dial with steel bracelets. Essentially the same style. Not nixing your suggestions, just saying it would be nice to add different color dials for variety.
Nice choice... but I prefer the 36mm size for that watch. Better proportioned for those evenings or events that you have to dress up for. But in either size, that's a nice piece - Jason
Replace the Cartier with a Jaeger Lecoultre Reverso. Replace the Ming with a Longines Flagship Heritage Moonphase. Replace the Seiko with a Glycine Air Pilot.
Collecting vintage and military watches I can understand, but just watches you can buy anywhere,,online included ,seems like a ridiculous and pointless ,' middle pf the road', middle class, boring occupation .Moreover, the first watch to be used in space' (so the Omega hype tell us); to 'time your pasta', and your ' little business meeting'??----please!---like I said , middle class and middle of the road.
No offense taken. I don’t subscribe to that tho. I totally get it if you do, but there are sooo many watches that are better choices than a modern Rolex. I like the sentiment, it’s just modern Rolex has become a status symbol and just a brand to wear for people not interested in watches at all. That doesn’t mean there aren’t still great pieces in their collections. But the brand has a lot of ick on it rn. Ten years ago and further back, I would have agreed with you 💯 Appreciate the thought, and I’m sure lots of viewers will agree with you. That’s the awesome thing about this hobby. We all have different taste, likes, and dislikes. Thanks for watching and supporting our young YT channel 👊 - Jason
For you maybe, but not for me or for many other collectors. Appreciate you watching. Maybe we have something else in our list of videos that you'll connect with better - Jason

Great options, and ❤ the editing on this one! Jason and Felix are on 🔥

@ We all make mistakes, and it’s UA-cam. We are not rocket scientists here 😂
Haha... #truth

Ahhh... that VC Overseas is sooo nice! You have good taste sir 🤌 - Jason

I really like your video's. Keep up the good work.
Why thank you sir! I appreciate the positive feedback. Enjoy your week 👊 - Jason
Great videos as always 🎉
Thanks bro! - Jason
Ming watches punch above their weight class hard 🥊
Yeah they do! I'm glad you enjoyed the video 🙌 - Jason

Forget Tudor, add submariner
I chose the Tudor because it's more interesting than the Sub to me. But I agree, it's def an alternative to the Tudor. - Jason
Great matt Damon look/vibe today👌
Thanks bro... I'll take that compliment 😉 - Jason
Rolex OP with silver, black, or bright blue dial. JLC Master Ultra Thin Moon Phase. Tag Heuer Carrera Glass box. Marathon GSAR. Casio G-Shock DW5600BB-1.
Nice spread... I would def take most of those watches. Especially the JLC Master Ultra Thin Moon 👊 - Jason

They're available in different dial configurations. Those are just stock photos used for reference. I agree, that would be alot of black! 😳 - Jason
impressive that a watch made it to the moon before humans
Haha... def possible 😉 - Jason
I only need one Rolex Explorer 40
Nice choice... but I prefer the 36mm size for that watch. Better proportioned for those evenings or events that you have to dress up for. But in either size, that's a nice piece - Jason
I’d pass on the Seiko SKX and get something from Tissot or Hamilton, Get the BB54 instead of BB41 and get the Santos instead of the Tank
Those are all very good choices in my eyes! Especially like the Hamilton idea! - Jason
My thoughts exactly. Replace it with a Murph.
If a Rolex Submariner is not included it’s a miss
Why is that? - Jason
@ it is The diver, it’s my favorite watch and the 16610lv was first Rolex back in 2004, so of course I’m biased, great channel
The 5 digits are the sweet spot for Rolex. Great piece!!! - Jason
Replace the Cartier with a Jaeger Lecoultre Reverso. Replace the Ming with a Longines Flagship Heritage Moonphase. Replace the Seiko with a Glycine Air Pilot.
Those are all good replacements and alternatives. I especially love the Reverso! - Jason

"5 watches you should have"? what a pompous statement
Really!?! It's a UA-cam title 🤦♂️
No offence, a collection without Rolex is never complete
No offense taken. I don’t subscribe to that tho. I totally get it if you do, but there are sooo many watches that are better choices than a modern Rolex.

@@TheWatchBrosyou’ll be back to Rolex someday…it’s inevitable.
@cecaju9516 if you watch the channel, you'll know that I own Rolex watches. That's not what my comment is about tho - Jason
Very useless list, 1 Tudor and Cartier will be fine
For you maybe, but not for me or for many other collectors. Appreciate you watching. Maybe we have something else in our list of videos that you'll connect with better - Jason
You need time stamps your voice be annoying annoying 😂
That time when you were the only one that thought someone was annoying... then you realized you were the problem 🤦♂️ - Jason
